A little history: Ole Ole Burrito Express has been serving Oakland since 2011, originally establishing itself in the Uptown/Downtown area. Today, they have locations on Telegraph Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard, continuing to serve burritos, tacos, quesadillas and other Tex-Mex favorites. Their broad vegan menu has also become one of their distinguishing features. It's easy to see why Ole Ole has become a local Oakland favorite, with longtime customers appreciating the affordable food, quick service and huge variety. I got a veggie taco salad that was packed with disgusting watery lettuce on the top of it. I selected avocado (not guacamole) and there was none at all. Usually when I order this the avocado is laid out on top of the sour crème. I think they threw all this lettuce on there to hide that there is no avocado. This dish tasted bad and was missing an (expensive) ingredient. I will never order from this location again and makes me think twice about even ordering from telegraph. I've been eating there for a long time and like the owner and his kids who work there (telegraph location). I hope these restaurants are not owned by the same family because this is very very very disappointing.

Two corn tortillas grilling, a good sized dollop of beef birria, cheese, onions, cilantro, and salsa. As they sizzled, the sexy aroma of my days spent in Boyle Heights (East LA) brought back fond memories. She folded the tacos carefully and plated them with love into a clam shell container. Bruh bagged me up and the total was $12.50, but he said call it $12. I'm already impressed by the service and gave him a nice tip. Once home, I had to let my iPhone camera eat first. The pictures really don't do justice on how delicious the tacos are. Overstuffed with the birria beef filling, melted into the Mexican cheese, and with just enough salsa. My first dip and bite of the taco was heavenly. As we say in Hawaii, "Broke da mout!" It clearly is a paper towel event.
