I am a big fan of Primeval Pets and Konrad has been wildly helpful. We have purchased a pacman frog…read moreand a mojave ball python from them. Each time we go back it is a positive experience. We get good advice on animal care without a big sales pitch attached. My son wanted a snake and Konrad took way more time than expected to really educate him on care and show him many options within our budget. I am very happy that we have a local reptile store with such great people. I will continue to do business with Primeval Pets because of how great we have always been treated there.

We moved back in May of 2021 and have again been doing business through them since. Today, we went in to look at some ball pythons since my fiancée has wanted one for years. We were helped by an amazing guy named Konrad. The amount of information we received was staggering (in a great way!), and so much more beneficial than checking forums online for different answers on questions we had not only on ball pythons, but for my snake as well. Konrad has been working with Primeval Pets for years, and many of the snakes there are ones he bred himself. The amount of knowledge and passion for these animals was not only comforting, but exciting as well! If you have any questions regarding snakes and need answers, please close your browser and give them a call or head in and ask for Konrad. The experience and love he has for what he does is unrivaled by anything you can read online, and you get to ask super specific questions rather than finding ones that "sort of" fit your needs online. Needless to say, we put a deposit down on a snake (they have one month layaway!), and picked up some things for my snake as well. I've always recommended Primeval Pets to friends and family, but this experience really was the cherry on top! There is another review on here that I believe was made during a time Primeval Pets was owned by another family (this was back when Primeval Pets was on King St). My fiancée and I would visit family and have experiences much like that comment, but any time that Primeval Pets was in the hands of Lisa and her team, we have had nothing but amazing trips and experiences.

This Petco is located in the same plaza as Trader Joe's and Carhartt. This Petco also has a Vetco,…read morewhich is what brought my husband, our little girl dog and I to come because our little girl had gotten fleas at the hotel that we had stayed the night before (truly a nightmare while traveling). The Vetco is right by the front entrance of this Petco, just make a left after you come in. We were greeted by a nice and friendly employee behind the counter. She helped checked us in and also greeted our little girl. She took her weight and then ushered us to an examination room. After that, a vet tech took some of our little girl's vitals and also did a physical exam. Then we waited for the vet. This veterinarian was excellent. He was friendly and very sweet to our little girl dog. He did not dismiss our concerns and listened intently. We have gone to other veterinarians where I felt that they didn't really listen or were not forth coming in what they were trying to tell us. They also did not treat our other dogs as nicely. I recall the veterinarian who abruptly touched our male dog's mouth to look at his teeth and said they were moderately dirty, which was not true, as we are very good about brushing our dog's teeth every night. He had hardly looked at his mouth (but another veterinarian we had seen at the same facility had praised us for such clean teeth on a separate visit). This veterinarian we had on this visit to Vetco was the complete opposite and greatly appreciate his kindness towards us and our little girl. We ended up getting 2 months worth of flea medication and were on our way. We were also given this veterinarian's business card in case we had trouble with purchasing any additional flea medication online (Since it is usually cheaper than getting them at the vet's office). Overall, this Vetco was excellent and the care our little girl received was truly the best.

This is a hard one to post but it is quite needed to inform the public of some policies the human…read moresociety does not make clear. We decided to adopt a kitty (Kit Kat), who was recovering from being spayed and a polyp removal in her nose. As per policy, we had to wait to adopt her so communicated many times with the staff to make sure we could get her. When the time came, we found the adoption process to be extremely rushed as the staff was clearly overwhelmed with all that was going on. Kit Kat had two medications that needed to be administered daily and the vet confirmed this would clear up her condition (their eyelid remaining 1/4 over eye). Two days after bringing her home, she went very lethargic, coughing and sneezing. I attempted to contact the Vet at SOHS and was denied. When I stated I only wanted to verify if this was an expectation of her recovery I was further told quite abruptly "SOHS is no longer financially responsible for animals after they are adopted". I was NOT looking for them to pay any upcoming vet bills. I was simply wanting to speak with the vet to confirm her condition. I was again denied, again reminded they are not financially responsible and asked to speak with a board member. We decided it would be best to get the cat to a vet and paid the 150.00 emergency vet bill plus medications. Turns out SOHS vet missed a polyp and she needs another surgery at the cost of $500.00. I was contacted by Ryan at the SOHS who stated they are legally not able to care for an animal once it is adopted. Understood. I asked to speak with the very who allegedly was out of cell reception. Never got a follow up call or any care or concern after speaking to them. I don't understand how complicated it is for a vet to 1) do their job effectively and 2) be able to produce communications about their surgeries and potential side effects. So my caution....DO NOT adopt a sick animal from SOHS with ANY expectation you will be shown any compassion or understanding. Had I known I would be spending over $1000.00 for a cat, I would have better prepared myself financially for it or saved for it. I am a very very strong believer in adopt not shop and this has been the worst experience doing so. My hopes, not to slander but to share my experience so others can be informed of what is going to come from SOHS once you sign that paperwork....nothing.
