So it's Thursday evening at about 6:30 PM. I had ordered two large dog food bags online for pick up earlier in the day.. I got notification that it was ready for pick up, but when I went to go down and all of a sudden changed instead of pick up was not available. I'm driving down there. I called to the store and I ask if somebody gonna be available to help me they're two 50 pound dog bags, and I do not walk very well and cannot lift anything that heavy. The guy on the phone says no we can't help you with that. We're shortstaffed.. I said well I can't come get it, but if somebody help me put it in the car. He said no we don't have anybody to help and it gets dark out early and we have safety concerns with people going outside.. I said it's spring time. It's late right now at 6:30. I'm on my way in.. it gets dark in the winter time it's no longer winter. At which time he proceeded to hang up on me.. when I went in there was a nice gentleman behind the register who actually did help me when I asked where the store clown was. Apparently the guy was hiding in the. The guy at the register is the one who left to help me out with the dog bags and the other guy creeped up to the register to cover the register while he assisted me.. I don't know what kind of professionalism that is and to hang up on me when he was the one that was being rude. I had quite a different experience with the guy behind the register.. I don't know the guy's that seems to be the store clown, but I do remember he had a beard cause I saw him walking toward the front when we were walking out of the store. Maybe you guys should hire a professional phone system maybe it would bring him more business if you had better people answering the phone with who no phone etiquette. I called the dog training department twice to see if it was okay that I only had a rabbies vaccine record since my dogs puppy shot were done at home and I have no records. Twice they said that's fine so I paid for the classes but, when I got there and gave the trainer the rabbies vaccine record she says no we have to have the puppy shot records too or we can't train your dog. I had the most inappropriate experience while paying for dog treats. My cashiers name was Sierra, and she was the epitome of great customer service. She was outgoing, friendly & helpful. There were a couple other checkers working but the staff had a line past the dog treat isle. She was still upbeat and not stressed and made me feel like a priority by taking the time to update my phone number and answering my questions. Before I had even swiped my debit card I heard an older woman demand that Sierra rewipe another customers cart. Sierra upbeat said not a problem, just give me a second to finish up. So I go back to the question I had asked and then the older woman demanded NOW! I looked at the older dirty blonde lady with glasses, couldn't catch her name and looked at her very confused because she easily could have wiped down the other customers cart without interrupting Sierras transaction and helping answer questions. The lady walked away and then from the area past the birds yelled do it now what is taking so long!! I looked at Sierra and apologized that she was being treated so disrespectfully and that no one should put up with it. She smiled at me and said have a good day. I walked out with my 11 year old daughter and she started wiping down a cart that the older woman with a power trip could have done herself. I want you to know that this was incredibly hard to witness. That older lady needs to be spoken to and knocked down a peg. Just because she is older or even if she is in a management position that is NOT the way to motivate or be a teamplayer. How she treated that young woman is exactly why turn over for PetsSmart is so high. I wish Sierra the best of luck and hope she finds and employer who appreciates her. read more

Took nearly five hours for our dog to get groomed. There's no receptionist at the front and when I spoke to upper management about it, he said we have to see if they can approve hiring a receptionist to answer the phone that rings off the hook. It took us 30 mins to drop off our dog. When we picked our dog back up, the next day she had a nasty rash on her abdomen. I called PerSmart to see what could've happened. They said bring our dog in. When we came back in, the groomer walked our dog to Banfield pet hospital located within the store. The vet came over, quickly knelt over and said yep that's a rash and quickly began telling us what to do.. I said you didn't even get a look at the dog. I picked our dog up from the ground where our dog was and asked if the vet could actually take a decent look. She then said it was a case of contact dermatitis. Didn't ask any pertaining questions, nothing. Our dog got a very nasty rash w red bumps all over her stomach from unclean instruments, or from the kennel she was kept in. She did a fantastic job grooming Maude. I was pleasantly surprised to have received " a report card/notes" from Kayla regarding Maude's grooming. I called the next day and thanked Kayla personally for her hard work, attention to detail, and her professionalism as a groomer. WOW!! A wonderful new find with happy employees, clean conditions and low prices, unlike other chain stores. Our cashier was flustered by our many questions and has a long line ahead of him. The manager stepped in to help and was incredibly kind. My husband said, "I don't like chain stores, but this is the exception". Our groomers, Asley and Kayla could not have done better. Ashley loves animals and was gentle and sweet to my little babies during their first bath. Kayla went out of her way to meet my demands. We really needed to get our lab mix groomed and I was looking around at other places and they charged much more than I was willing to spend. I had gone to Petco before and I brought him home and he could barely open his eyes and made me never want to take our dog there again. I decided to give PetSmart a try and Ashley was our groomer. She did a wonderful job. She throughly went through with me what i wanted to have done and was very sweet. He was very nervous in general and she worked with our dog to make him as comfortable as possible. I made sure to book his next grooming with Ashley again. Have gone here for nail trims in the past, but started going somewhere new...then when I came back on the weekend to get him trimmed because it worked best with my schedule, they couldn't find my record and refused to do his nails because they couldn't confirm with my vet (on a Sunday when they are obviously closed)that he was current on his rabies vaccine, even though he had a current license on his collar. I know they have policies they have to stick to, but the website says nothing about that, so to show up and not have the paper rabies vaccine we needed was pretty annoying when there's no mention of it on the website. The store soled me a baby bearded dragon that has three different types of worms and over 200 eggs that my exotic vet tolled me is only transmittable through other beardies and when I called to complain they won't do anything and act like they don't care at all so be careful buying animals here cuz their obviously not examined and now I have a expensive vet bill on top of hoping my beardie makes it since it's so bad now mind you I have only had him 3 weeks and the worms just started showing in his poop which the vet said couldn't have been from me from the short amount of time I've had him since he's only 2-3 months old so just a heads up so u don't get a sick animal. read more

I have been using PetSmart grooming services for a few years now. The staff is cheerful and helpful and greet my dogs with a happy and warm presence. My usually shy Italian Greyhound arrives with a wagging tail and leaves in the same happy state. I ordered from them online for delivery on October 20 the next day they said it was ready for delivery. I cancelled the order because I needed it delivered and they still have not refunded my money. In fact I had to open a case with Paypal and as of today the 29th they have still not responded and have not refunded my money. 1) my dog hated it there, he didn't want to go. 2) they didn't treat him like a client, but just a customer, one of many that happen to walk through the door (I mean there was NO personal service to it) 3) he looked nearly the same when he came out as when he went in, they didn't clean his ears or clip his feet 4) they said he "jumped" another dog. No, he is a pussy cat, and unless the other dog jumped him, he wouldn't do that. 5) cramped conditions (maybe the close surroundings made him jumpy and he did have an issue with another dog?) 6) cost more for what they barely did than a full groom nearby! 7) groomers seem to be young, training, and then leave. Ok, I'll admit. I LOVE lolcats, but I actually don't like cats IRL... or really any other animal IRL for that matter. My friends all have pets that I try to avoid when I go to their house (no, I didn't just kick your cat!... on purpose!), and therefore I will get stuck going pet supply shopping with them at one point or another. Anyways! Given that I am not an "animal person", I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. Everyone's dogs were well behaved, there were lots of hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the store, and there is quite an array of painted hermit crab shells. My favorites were the ones decorated like Spongebob and a football. Also you can watch other people's dogs get groomed and look miserable as you check out.
