I've been going to Snow Monster since I was in high school, about 12 years ago, and it's still one of my go to spots whenever I'm craving a good dessert! My favorite order is the Fruity Pebbles macaron with horchata ice cream. The macaron is so soft and full of flavor, and the ice cream is delicious and tastes just like horchata. The combination is seriously so good! The employees are always so nice and friendly too. They used to have a seating area upstairs that was super cute, cozy, and calming, which I definitely miss. Now they sell different little products and gifts, and everything is so cute! I've also tried their Thai tea. It was good, but personally a little too strong for me. After all these years, the macaron ice cream sandwich is still what keeps me coming back. Definitely one of my favorite spots for a sweet treat!
Kim was very sweet and helpful welcomed me with a big smile and highly recommended the mango sticky rice. The ambience inside is very aesthetic. Cute fun looks a bit Japanese marketplace. My fiancé and I stopped by after eating next-door at open sesame the mango sticky rice Boba drink was really good. I especially like the sticky rice in the coconut milk will be back again driving through.
Monster mash ice cream and it was so good. Service was quick & ambiance was clean. Feels like so much stuff is for sale other than ice cream. Like so many little toys.
In love with this place. So many options for unique drinks. We ordered banana coffee, matcha coconut cloud, mango sticky rice smoothie, fresh coconut smoothie, and Thai tea sticky rice. All so delicious! They also sell different flavors of Lay's potato chips that you won't find in any regular grocery stores. There were jewelry, stuff plushies, mirrors,and other small knick knacks on display for purchase. Very cute place to enjoy a drink or have some ice cream especially on a hot day. Service is amazing and will be a returning customer.
Cute little café spot in downtown Long Beach, though I'll start by saying parking isn't great since it's all street parking--but that's not really on them. The place itself is super charming. There are a bunch of fun snacks and little trinkets to browse before you even order, which I honestly loved. That said, the layout is a bit... interesting. The space is actually pretty big, but it feels like about 2/3 of it is dedicated to the kitchen, leaving only a small portion for the shop and seating. There are only about four tables, and each one comfortably fits maybe three people at best. I went with my girlfriend and two friends, and we basically had to take up two tables just to make it work. I ordered the Sunset Strawberry Lemonade with boba and lychee jelly, and my girlfriend got the Nutty Caramel Banana Split. Unfortunately, my drink was completely ruined by the boba. It was undercooked--hard in the center with this weird slimy exterior--and it made the whole drink so unpleasant that I ended up throwing it away. From what I could taste, the actual strawberry lemonade itself was fine, pretty standard, and probably would've been enjoyable if not for the boba. BUT--the brown butter toffee ice cream in the banana split? That was the real star. It was genuinely so good that even as someone who doesn't like bananas, I found myself wanting to just order the ice cream on its own next time. Overall, I'd come back for the ice cream if I were in the area again, but I'd probably just get it to-go rather than try to sit inside.
Walked in to the coffee shop of my dreams. Great coffee and matcha menu, fun and silly desserts and lots of fun swag to entertain yourself. Nothing too sweet and all around cute vibe.
Beautiful, what a simply cute little boba shop in LB. Fresh ingredients and such a good flavor of Thai tea! Boba connoisseur, I'd give this A+!! definitely worth the stop if you're in the area or on a hot hot day like today.. being 93° and muggy!!
Update to my old review: Don't forget the chocolate chip cookies! Omg! So yummy! Oh and the Asian snacks are yummy!
I used to go to the Snow Monster in Westminster as a kid until they closed. Since then, they've rebranded to Mini Monster but still sell the same stuff! We drove down to Long Beach to get it again after many years and I ordered the same thing I used to: Strawberry Sunset Lemonade & Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich. We chose vanilla ice cream, which was much better than I remember it tasting. The flavor is very distinct vanilla and standout, which I really liked. We got the strawberry macaron cookies on the side and they were a bit smaller than before, but just as good. I wish they sold the cookies separately, as I would buy a ton! The sunset lemonade was okay, I feel like it didn't have as much flavor as the location in Anaheim, but it wasn't bad either. Overall, I really enjoyed everything and it was pretty nostalgic! The store itself is really clean and nicely decorated, with its inside being almost like a loft. Service was really fast and straightforward, and there are about 4 tables to sit at inside. It's located on a street with very little to no parking, so I would recommend turning down into a side street and hoping for parking there. There is no designated parking lot.
Wow! I've always loved this place. And it has changed and came so far since I've been coming here!!! It used to just have boba (and the cute gifts / flowers they sell) But now the menu is huge!!! This place has street parking only, which isn't the businesses fault. But since up close parking is important to me, it's a bummer. So keep that in mind if you have limited walking abilities. The staff here is always so friendly! I'm always greeted immediately. Greg took great care of us They do have other locations. Like the one in Anaheim, conveniently located in the Anaheim packing district This place is also woman owned!! So bonus points there. I love seeing how many things they have added. I've bought so many gifts here for girlfriends (cutest stuffed animals, pins, mugs and etc) to support this local gem The ice cream is delicious and I love the ice cream sandwiches they make with the macarons. My mother hates macarons but loves them from here. So that's saying a lot. Now they have things like banana splits and tea flights?!?! Whaaaat!!! The shop is so cute It has seating I love seeing this place adding things and getting more popular In fact, while we were here Greg was talking to us about how they are trying to perfect another menu item to add (Flan) they also have some seasonal items I have seen the gorgeous tea flights on social media. And today was my lucky day. I came here with someone else who is obsessed with flights. They have 3 different ones! So we had to order each one The - matcha flight The-milk tea flight The -island glow flight (this one was probably my favorite and I loved how it was presented) Matcha flight- matcha latte, banana matcha and strawberry matcha (for me not being a matcha fan I thought these were really good. Especially the banana matcha) Milk tea flight -jasmine milk tea, honey milk tea and signature thai tea Island glow flight-sunset strawberry lemonade, peach tea and fresh thai coconut water I also ordered an ice cream sandwich (you pick the flavor of ice cream and pick the flavor of macarons you want) I picked coffee ice cream and fruity pebble macarons (don't question it, it totally goes together and it's delicious) I REALLLLLLLY wanted a banana split but unfortunately they were out of bananas (it was a Saturday and we got there as soon as it opened at 11 am) And I ordered a milk tea with boba in their boba bear reusable glass cup topped with cotton candy. When we were leaving Greg was actually extremely nice and went above and beyond and he knew the lid of my cup was sticky from having the cotton candy on top. So he asked if I wanted the lid cleaned. This place is also big on sustainability when it comes to the environment. They have a whole shelf of reusable straws for purchase (they are actually a very good price. I recommend the metal ones) They still have the huge glass cups (the big mason jars size boba bears) you can buy and then have them refilled for a certain price. I highly recommend popping in for a quick drink to go or staying for the beautiful tea flights Prices are extremely reasonable And I'll just come out and say it. Staff here is amazing. So please don't forget gratuity The only downfall is now they have such a big menu it's impossible to know what to order. Everything is delicious. P.S. 5/5 stars for Greg It also has vegan And dairy free options
This place is so cute! Everything in here is just so aesthetically pleasing! I love it! The young lady at the counter assisted us promptly. Now for the drinks and treats... The Pandan Matcha was sooool good! The cookie was 10/10 We will definitely be back!
A little disappointed. I've been here several times and today I come and ask for a whole coconut that costs 7 dollars. The name itself describes what it is so when I ask for it, the 2 girls working are so confused and don't know what I'm talking about. They said they don't have that but they can pour coconut water inside a coconut shell but they have to charge me for a smoothie which originally costs 9 dollars. I got charged an extra 2 dollars bc apparently they no longer have that option to charge. As a customer how is that my fault! To top it off I also ask for a mango sticky rice smoothie and it was watery. Idk the whole thing was just off today I'm so sad bc I like this place USUALLY!

My bf, our dog and I came here for a after dinner sweet stop. It's a great location on 2nd in Belmont Shore where they're a lot of shopping, although parking can be tough when visiting later in the evenings. The place is a bit small, but luckily when I visited it wasn't over crowded. They do sell other items aside from sweets and drinks. It is worth looking around the shop. I ordered: Classic Cheesecake Jar, Cookies & Cream Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich and the Taro Milk Tea. All three were great and fulfilled my sweet tooth craving. I would come back to try other items on the menu, they have a lot to choose from. Also when we came, our dog even got a surprise, it was a similar version of a puppuccino & he loved it! read more

Snow Monster is pleasing to the eye cause as you enter the place is filled with aromatic candles, pretty boutique of dry flowers to cute jewelry for sell. It's pretty aesthetic. The service was mediocre as I enter, the girl working on the counter had her back at me. Didn't seem to know that someone has enter the business. Nonetheless, when she saw me, she didn't even greet me. I had to address her in order to get her attention. I asked her is the Vanilla Matcha was popular, and she just said yes. I proceeded to order. I told her I wanted the Vanilla Matcha Milk Tea and half a dozen of macaron. I asked her about the character one, and she told me we only have the cloud one, right now. She didn't even bother trying to convince me to buy it, at all. I guess it wasn't her day, that day. When service is mediocre I'm already 50% turned off, to be honest. 0 star for her mediocre service.... She didn't even thank me order. When my things were done, she just waved at me and said your order is ready. She must've had a really bad week or day. Didn't seem like she wanted to do her job. I ordered the Vanilla Matcha Milk Tea in a 32 oz. It was a hot day and I was thirsty. I also ordered half a dozen of macaron in the flavors of 2 pistachio, 1 matcha, 1 Oreo cookie, Thai Tea and the seasonal design which tasted like vanilla, I assume. -Vanilla Matcha Milk Tea unfortunately due to the vanilla being too sweet, it overpowers the taste of the matcha. I felt like I was drinking 32 oz of pure sugar. I had to try to not drink it so fast even if I was thirsty cause I don't want it to fill me up and get me all bloated. The vanilla really took over, and I couldn't even taste the matcha, at all. This was a serious bummer cause even if the flavors were a mix at other boba stores, I can still taste the matcha. I think they didn't do a good mix with this drink. When I only taste one flavor in a drink, we're their is suppose to be two, I think the bartisa or drink mixer person, is good at mixing compounded drinks. I'm sorry but this was a total miss. I give it 1 star. -2 Pistachio Macaron's These had a burst of pistachio flavor it in, and they were thicker macaron's too. I like it when macaron's are a little thicker cause it has a little more of the cream fill in it. Makes them much more tasty and enjoyable. Love the fact that they did have the pistachio taste and didn't lack flavor. They were such a treat with my afternoon tea. 5 stars for this little treat. -Thai Tea Macaron This didn't have as much Thai Tea flavor as I expected it to be. The macaron had the color of how Thai tea looks like, but it lacked the typical Thai tea flavor. I tasted a lot of vanilla in it more than anything else. This was a bummer. 1 Star for trying to make it look like Thai Tea, at least. -Oreo Cookie Now, this was a big hit for me! Loved the fact it looked like an Oreo cookie, and tasted like an Oreo cookie! I wish I got more of these, but I wanted to try most of the flavors! Bursting with cookies and cream flavor, this was a delight! An explosion of flavors of cookies and cream of this delight treat, right inside my mouth! I love the fact that it's a thicker macaron like I've said, cause this one I can taste the cream filling all inside my mouth. Felt like heaven. It's also a plus when your nose smells the Oreo cookie. This one is a win-win! 5 star champs! Matcha- Unfortunately, the matcha one only looked like matcha which is a middle range color green... I couldn't taste Matcha but tasted a lot of vanilla. Too me, if you were going to sell a certain flavor, at least try to perfect it first before deciding to sell it. This really beats me down every time when an establishment tries to sell you something, and it doesn't turn out what it's suppose to be. I hope they learn how to perfect the Matcha flavor in their drinks and macaron's. It's such a big bummer. 1 star for trying. Seasonal Character Macaron- Seasonal Character should have a special taste to it. That is my point of view. Make it an exciting flavor, so customers would want to come back and try a different one every time. Make it exciting, enticing and fun. Putting vanilla flavor doesn't make it any special. You might as well call it a regular vanilla macaron. I was really looking forward to trying this one, and in was in the end going like ok... this is not something I would order again. I could've just ordered a different macaron and just go with that flavor. 2 stars for a cute cloud shape. That is about it. Overall, I give this place a 3 Star. Cute interior and some of the macaron flavors were pretty good. They need to perfect some flavors better for their drinks probably and also macaron flavors. Will I be back? Maybe...just to see if they do things a little better. Parking is a hassle. You have to find street parking. It took me around the block and back before I found a spot. Happy Eating!!! read more

I forgot that I had been here about a year ago... until I went inside the shop. The interior looked familiar. I asked if I had been here before... Yes. So, I looked at my photos... Yup, I was here! I read Craig's review...looks like I got the lightbulb glass for Jules...ok! So, here's my review for my most recent visit during a week day: We found metered street parking and walked along Second Street in Long Beach. We entered an almost empty shop with great service and a convenient restroom. Jeff wanted "snow" at Snow Monster, but none was available. It was amusing. Haha! I had an iced Horchata coffee - it was different and good! Thanks for the refreshing pick-me-up and the rocking chairs! I liked the comforting swaying motion... ahhh... this is vacation! read more

Have been going to Snow Monster for Years and this location is just too adorable! I didn't catch the Cashier's name today, but she was so sweet and Patient.. we decided to try the honey Lavender Lemonade and Thai Coffee.. Let's just say we were pretty impressed, a happy Boba family! Boba was fresh/tender and chewy. Lavender lemonade was pretty purple and she Hooked it up with a Christmas Poinsettia decoration around the cup.. Also, they sell floral Bouquets and cute decorations to help out the Business stay afloat. read more

Had a great blast trying out their sunset strawberry lemonade. On top of the cup you can add the cotton candy which pairs well with the drink. Also I try their Vietnamese ice coffee which had perfect aroma and sweetness. There are also cute candles, flowers, and plants for you to purchase in the store. read more
