We really love the food. The only bad thing is there isn't one close to us in Palestine,Tx. I would highly recommend putting one in Palestine! read more

Cook to order even when going to the drive thru. Healthy portions and delicious food! A favorite!!!!!

The noodes, as you might expect, are deliciousBut there is a wide variety of Chinese here, and it is all excellent. The place is small, though, so make a reservation or eat a little bit off hours. read more

great food! ive only been on drive thru and it does take a couple minutes but it's so worth it.

This is a decent Chinese restaurant. That is actually more of a compliment than you think. The reason for that is because there are only 3 decent Chinese food restaurants in all of East Texas (Ming's and Julian's in Tyler and GZ's in Longview). 99% of all Chinese restaurants in East Texas are All-You-Can-Eat buffet yuck-fests with oilfield rednecks poppin' off about trying to "put the hurt on 'em" by eating so much food that the restaurant loses money on them (for what it's worth, you could eat a 55 gallon drum of Chinese food and not hit $1.25 in food and labor cost). The egg drop soup was good. It didn't taste like it was made a week ago. The Kung Po chicken was spicy and flavorful. There were probably 10 water chestnuts to every piece of chicken so they were either trying to hide the fact that there wasn't much chicken or they have cornered the market on water chestnuts. The egg roll was decent but the sweet and sour sauce and the hot mustard added a lot. The atmosphere is sort of remodeled burger joint meets soul food diner. You order at the counter so there is no service. They aren't doing much so they could actually come by and refill your drink or see if you need something. It was clean. This is HIGHLY unusual to be able to use the word clean in association with an East Texas Chinese restaurant. The food was not world class but good enough that I would want to go back and try other things. There are not a lot of good, non-chain restaurants in Tyler so this will definitely be on my standard rotation for the foreseeable future. Smiley face. read more

I love Ming's! I have been multiple times and the amount of you you get is ridiculous, but I always end up getting two meals out of it. Every time I have been the employees have been friendly and knowledgable. The food has always tasted hot and fresh. Can't get enough of this place. read more

4 stars for value. Dealing with a raging hangover from last night's New Year's Eve festivities, I knew some greasy Chinese food would do the trick. Since I looked like a homeless bum, I opted for the drive-thru, which is a great option. I ordered a Kung Pao beef / chicken combo, sans veggies. My God, did they ever load up the to go box! The amount of food they gave me could've fed an army of those little ethiopians with the flies all over their faces. Quick to go service, friendly employees, cheap prices, and a heaping amount of food. Hangover no mas! I'll return when I need some quick Chinese. read more

1st time I tried to eat here I sat in the drive thru for 20 min after being told to wait. 2nd time I went with friends and the food was great, expect a wait though. read more

Very good food. It's owned by the some people who own Liang's in Tyler (a more upscale sit-down Chinese restaurant)......so you're getting the same exact food, but are spending about 15% less on it! I like that if you go in a bit late, and order from the steam table, they'll usually pile it on (since they won't be re-stocking those items on the steam table that night!) Call ahead if you're doing drive-thru......and yes, the atmosphere is a bit on the plain side........but for taste? 5 stars!! read more

Mings Cafe offers superb Chinese food for average prices. Mings loses a star for two reasons: 1. The drive-thru is pretty slow. The food is made-to-order, so it can sometimes take up to 15 minutes to get your food. You might as well eat inside. 2. The interior is a bit simple and unsophistocated - especially when compared to other Chinese restaurants in Tyler. But hey, the food's good. Pescatarian friendliness: 4/5 read more

Ok, it's a dive but it's a nice dive. Food is pretty good. It's clean and the staff, they make the difference. We've been here a few times and have never double guessed the decision. The soups are the best I've had in 20 years. Stopping here is hardly ever a bad thing. read more

Never Again!! I have always loved Mings until lately. This was one of my favorite take out places in Tyler. This past Saturday i was calling in a take out order. the young man who answered the phone asked if i could please hold as he was taking an order. I decided to start driving across town so to get my food while still on hold. 15 minutes later i arrived at the restaurant and was still on hold. walked in there were maybe 10 people sitting down eating. When i asked to speak to a manager some rude 20 something kid told he was the manager and acted as if he didnt care. My wife and i have eaten there as much as once a week but at least once a month but i would rather go to Brookshires on Rice Rd for my take out Asian food then to ever step foot in Mings again read more

After waiting an HOUR from the time I ordered until I got my food in the drive-thru, you would think the order would be perfect. WRONG!!!!!! And because there is only one way in and out of the parking lot, once you order, you are stuck because you can't get out. I went back up to the restaurant and took my food inside to have them fix it. Showed them the receipt and talked to them as well and it STILL wasn't right when I got home the 2nd time. And to top it off, the bag that I grabbed from home to put the food in to take back up there had a hole in it that I didn't see so now my seat is stained from the SAUCE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!! read more

Good portions, excellent service, & delicious food! My favorite menu item is the House rice (beef, chicken, shrimp, & pineapple). read more

Mings Cafe - House Rice - Chinese Near Me - Tyler, Texas

This place used to be so good. It's not good anymore. At all. If your lucky, your food will have flavor. I feel like I wasted money on this meal. I really wish I liked it, but it's not for me. Hopefully they can go back to their old ways and become the best Chinese food in Tyler again! But until then, I am highly unimpressed and will not return anytime soon. read more

The food is usually hot and fresh. The servings are generous. The service today was much better than last visit though we are disappointed that they quit the senior discount. They did say that they will still do veteran discounts though. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Tyler, and definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant. The service is always friendly, the portions are huge, and the prices are terrific I tried the jalapeno won tons yesterday and they were delicious and certainly something unique to a Chinese restaurant in Texas! They have a drive through, which is convenient, though I usually prefer to park and go in for carry out. read more

Food was really good! Had a lot leftovers. One thing I didn't like was when a little boy (who's mom works there) looked to be elementary age came in after school he was sent to the dining room unsupervised. He began to move around the dining room then spat on the floor. Ugh!! Not sure if I'll be back. Loved the food but that really made me sick. If he's doing that what else is he doing? read more

Wasn't sure about this place after reading the reviews! But let me tell you I've had ALOT of Chinese food and this place Rocks! Low prices but great quality and large portions. Give this place a try you will not regret it! read more

Worst service ever! Front counter woman was rude and would huff and puff anytime we asked for something! She got my order completely wrong! I came because I was told it was good but I'll never come back! I'm sorry I inconvenienced her by coming! read more

The food is amazing and they give extreme amounts of food per order very good quality the soups are amazing amber is great food still great!! read more

Worst customer service! Yelling at and cursing customers is not acceptable under any circumstances!

Good food. Very friendly employees. Great Prices. But the portion size was too big. Being part of the clean plate club is my down fall. I had a Thai salad, I did not care for the pineapple on it but it was served with two dressings, the house dressing I preferred the other was a thin sweet dressing. I also had the special, which was spicy chicken ( I think) I ordered it without rice. I should have take half to go. It was huge. So to summarize the place was much better than expected. read more

One of the worst take out I had so far. I order sweet and sour chicken with fried rice with extra sweet and sour. So what did they do put it on the side yuck. Plus we order 3 egg rolls for $5.00 guess what we didn't get them read more

Food wasn't as good as it used to be and it took over 20 minutes for me to get one dish. Didn't look sanitary and in times like these employees should be wearing gloves and mask. read more

I've been frequenting Mings for a couple years now and have yet to be let down. The steam table items are always delicious and are accommodating to working hours as well (11am-2pm; 4pm-8pm). The prices here are also hard to beat as well. It's hard to find another Chinese takeout/ sit in restaurant in the area that has prices as good as Mings. If I had to make a complaint, I'd say I wished they had an employee delegated to cleaning the tables while the tempo of the restaurant is high and it's hard to find a clean table to sit. Other than that, zero complaints or issues. read more

Don't go here if you are in a hurry. They advertised that they were open at 11:00. I waited in drive through window from 11:00-11:09. Finally went inside and ordered. I did not get food until 11:47! Everyone in restaurant was frustrated. They didn't care! Guy in charged was dismissing everyone's complaints. I won't go back!!!! Poorly managed! He said they open at 11, but that they don't start having food ready until 11:30. read more

Went through the drive through in my f550 service truck with a crane and had plenty of room. Yeah it takes a bit in the drive through because everything is made fresh. It says that when you pull up so ignore those other reviews. I ordered crab Rangoon, fried pot stickers, and Mongolian beef and they were all fantastic. The Mongolian could have been more spicy but it was still excellent. The portions were big, two gigantic scoops of rice I had no hope of finishing. Excellent food. Going there again this afternoon. read more

Well, I can only remark on a few entrees. The chicken and broccoli was just lousy. No flavor. Tasted like plain boiled chicken. Chicken and mushrooms: same story. Sesame chicken was slightly better. It's pretty hard to mess that one up. Was I disgusted by their food? eh, I guess not, but I will never eat there again. read more

The food was good and the service was fast. Had the Hot and Sour Soup and House Special Fried rice, it was all very good and hot. My niece had Egg Drop soup and the Lo mein noodles. She liked it and she's 7. Very picky eater with autism. My only complaint is there was the owner letting their son picking fights with my niece. And she didn't understand why. No one would do anything about it. Child left unsupervised in dining room. Employees are no babysitters. I left quickly. I won't be back because of this not food quality. read more

The food was crap and they have a swarm of kids working there cussing, and talking loudly on their phone's. All in all, it sucked.

Large portions and extremely good food. Love the people that work there and Aaron is amazing. Will continuously be a place I eat. House fried rice, combination lo mein, hot and sour soup and egg rolls are amazing, but I'm definitely going back to try more. read more

This is NOT a family restaurant, the staff was very loud and cursed very often. The only reason I give this place a 3 and not a 1 is because the food is actually really good. I recommend just using the drive through and getting out of there. read more

Their food is always good but the cooks have language barrier And at dinner time there are a lot of orders coming in and you better check your order if you're picking it up as they gave my order to someone else and I wasn't going to wait for them to cook it again so had to get off the buffet. make sure it's right but the food is delicious. read more

Mings really let me down. I called my food in went inside to pick it up was told that it was not ready yet and they were working on it. Waited another fifteen min nothing another five min nothing three ppl have came in ordered and left . Finally someone acknowledges I'm there turn out my good has been sitting there the entire time no apologies no nothing and the topper I now have luke warm food. An apology would have been nice . Called my food in at 423 pm Got my food at 504 read more

This place is great! It is our go to Chinese place in town! The portions are large enough to share for two people and the price is well worth it! The food is cooked to order unless you order from the steam table, but we always order from the menu so that it's fresh. They do have specials everyday. We absolutely love this place. read more
