This lady who is in charge of replenishing food and who calls in to the kitchen what they need to cook was caught coughing in from t of the food while she was replenishing it. Sadly her cough was bad that you can hear it's not dry cough but phlegmy ( don't know how else to describe it I know there no such word ) The people in charge of the buffet should wear mask and should be mindful. People can get sick because of this unsanitary practice. We are never coming back! You guys should think about dining here. we went to China King for their weekend buffet which includes a variety of seafood. usually good food except for April 18, 2026. the crawdads did not have any seasoning, no mussels at all, crab legs and numerous other entrees were over cooked, starchy, tough, and / or rubbery. we left very disappointed. There is always a great selection of foods, soups, salads, appetizers and sushi. Don't expect the dishes to change because you will always find the same foods every time you go. Admittedly Ive never found any Americanized mega Chinese buffet to be very good but if you're looking to fill up on mediocre "food" then go for it. I did on Christmas day not having a lot of choices. This is the first Buffet I have been to since the pandemic started. So far it seems like they have a good little thing goin for them. Employees wear masks. And customers are seated a good distance from one another. When you get your food you have to wait in line ( 6ft apart please ) and an employee will call you up. They will walk with you around the Buffet line because they are the ones who will dish out the plate of food for you. Just tell them what you want. The food there is decent. And you have a lot to choose from. Including sushi,dessert,salad, and of course Chinese dishes. The price is around $8-$9 a person. What more could u ask for. They sat me and my friend in the section just outside the bussing station, so all we could hear all through our meal was the crashing of dishes. No doors or blocks from the noise. And they weren't trying to be quiet about it either. I couldn't even talk to my friend. We had one plate each and an iced tea. The bill was $38 bucks. The place wasn't particularly clean, and the restaurant displays pictures and dollar amounts of people who skipped on their bills. It is like walking by a most wanted poster at a wedding. The food is just not that great. You will find the typical Chinese buffet fare but most of it didn't look good enough to try. I stuck with the lo mein, the broccoli from the broccoli beef, an egg roll & a spring roll. One bite from each one ... meh. Fresh ribs were put out but I didn't care for them much either. Surprisingly, the tamales were good & although the enchiladas looked good, I did not try them. After all, I was hungry for Chinese food. The crab Rangoon was also pretty good. Service was okay although we had to request drink refills & were then asked if we wanted half or full drink refills. I'm never too thrilled when servers scoop up our glasses & take them off to the back. Did she switch them up? We probably won't go back. They seem to have plenty of business, so apparently somebody likes it. I just think Tyler needs to do better. I stopped in today for lunch, and the best thing about this place was the green beans. We tried a variety of things off of the buffet, and most of them weren't palatable. The shrimp..with some kind of weird baked coating on them smelled fishy and tasted awful. I didn't even try the sushi for fear that I might get sick. Updating this review. Management posted on facebook dining dashers for the first time because people always walk out with out paying. They posted a video of my kid with out permission and with out blurring his face. I told them to delete it several times but they never did, till days later when they felt like it. They were payed and everything. Before anything escalated legally on my part, i was offering to pay because this was all a misunderstanding and they were told about the situation but they still played their childish games. I posted literally 100s of times to get their attention and that i will pay but they refused to let me while keeping their post up trying to embarrass me and promote the restaurant. Of course it didnt work because secrets also came out about their establishment and all that was deleted. Keep note that the female was removed immediately, and the other male about 2 days later, but when my debt was payed like i said, they posted that it was payed and never deleted it. People started questioning it and then they did delete it. I dont who is running this place but their team needs to do something about how they deal with things before they really get in trouble. All they had to do was stop me at the door saying pay the bill or call the cops but no, they wanted to play games. It actually felt like someone had a bad relationship and then tried to do someone wrong to others. But any way they were paid, they are happy, and i never received an apology. This is the experience I had on Feb. 25th. So first let me say that my husband and I have eaten here a time or two before and I can't say what my experience was then (don't remember). Must've been a decent experience since it's not etched in my brain. I always remember the places that are great and the ones that are horrible. I don't expect 5-Star restaurants and I'm not to proud to eat in dives, etc. But I do think that we all have some sort of a standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at China King was very poor. I've worked at many restaurants as a waitress in my younger years so I'm not a fan of writing negative reviews. It's not about how the place looks - for me its the service and the FOOD. So where do I start? I do like their Covid protocols that they are doing. You can't get your food at the buffet line. You stand in line and one of the employees will fill your plate with the things you say you want. They don't know what portion control is; so if you want a little you need to say "A little Lo Mein". If you say Lo Mein and then little, too late your plate is covered. The service is great but what I experienced in regards to the food was awful. Bar none the worst food I've had in a very long time. To disgusting to take a photo. I told the young lady at the buffet line I wanted a little Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Steamed Green Beans, Beef & Broccoli, Teriyaki Chicken on a stick, and Sweet & Sour Chicken. I absolutely love Asian food (Thai is my favorite - highly recommend Chiangmai Thai Kitchen). Anywho, back to what I think was food. The Lo Mein was just day old spaghetti noodles. Lo Mein is supposed to have vegetables in it, typically onions. This was not Chinese egg noodles it was thick spaghetti noodles sauteed in something. The fried rice was cold, mushy and wasn't fried rice like I've ever had. Fried rice is stir-fried and is usually mixed with other ingredients. It only had diced carrots. One of my favorite side dishes is Steamed Green Beans. These looked great however, they were cold and tasted like it was from lunch not fresh - no crunch. OMG here we go: The Beef and Broccoli was indescribable -plain nasty. Chef Ramsey would say alot of choice words about this. The beef was pale. I ate 1 piece and it had a weird flavor. Went to eat another and the meat was slimy (that went into a napkin). The broccoli was cold and no crunch. Again, I think this was from their lunch. The Teriyaki Chicken on a skewer was yesterday's meal. It was smelly and when you tore into it was slimy and yellow. Do not ask for water. I think they got if from the faucet, it tasted like rusty pipes and was opaque. I don't like having a full plate of food left on a table at a buffet, just doesn't seem right; but I did. My husband ate what he could of his food. Got our ticket and stale fortune cookie, left and went to Taco Bell. We will never be back! If anyone wants real good Chinese Food, head to Lindale to the Eastern Buffet. Every time we go we are never disappointed. read more

Charged a tip without consent!! We use to love coming here years ago. Only positive thing about our experience was our hostess was very pleasant! We went at dinner time. Everyone's food was extremely cold, we could never get ahold of our waiter. He had a smug look on his face and checked his watch 3-4 times a minute (yes I counted and timed it) as if he couldn't wait to leave. Only time we saw him was to get the check. After going to pay for our food, we explained to the lady at the register about our experience. Told her we use to come all the time and absolutely use to love it! She told us it wasn't the food, it was us and we were just too picky, we calmly explained that our chicken and beef and broccoli was extremely cold like they just took it out of the fridge,(we had just got it out of a brand new batch) She said we were wrong and we were just picky. First visit and my last visit. One of the worst dinners I've ever had. Cold food, flavorless. Food looks "hot" until you sit down and take your first bite. My partner had a hair wrapped around his sauteed mushroom, luckily he spot it before he popped it into his mouth. Out of the variety of items that I tried - Jalapeno chicken was the only fresh item out there. Wonton soup had no wontons. Partner felt ill immediately after we left and I was worried we were both going to end up with food poisoning. But for today, I would have rated China King 3/5 stars. Today's visit dropped my opinion. I ordered Szechuan Chicken and Pepper Steak from the Chef's Menu. You are given a choice--white rice or lo mein noodles. I choose lo mein for each. After paying, I was informed I could not get my food unless I paid an additional $2 PER order, or $4 total. I pointed out this extra charge wasn't stated on the menu, and while I was told the noodle fee would be waived for now, "the next time" I come in I "will have to remember" the extra charge. We have ordered two previous times and were not charged an additional fee for Chinese spaghetti. The chicken dish was VERY bland, and the pepper steak was covered in a thick beef gravy. I have eaten pepper steak from New York to San Francisco and have never seen this dish slathered in gravy. The precious lo mein comes in a two-cup container that isn't enough for the entree portion. Also, we added steamed dumplings but the dumpling sauce was not included in the take-out order. I don't like to leave a restaurant irritated by feeling like I'm trying to rip off the bottom line, but if the menu specifically specifies lo mein noodles as an optional choice with no surcharge, that's what I expect after I hand over my credit card. Yami's is a better alternative without the attitude, and I will continue to patronize that establishment instead to not feel like I'm being "noodled" for more cash. read more
