If I could give them -'s I would!! I usually wouldn't do this but my last visit here was terrible. I ordered the grilled fish combo with an extra side of shrimp fried rice. Then i asked if it came with a roll because if not I would've payed for 2x. The little lady said with an attitude "It comes just like the picture" ((asian voice)).. *The pictures doesn't show the complete order on it. I was just curious. So I asked again and the asian guy in the back came to me and said "I remember you, you always give us a Hard Time". I said "It's no way you have me mistaken, I've been here 3x's in total, once this year and twice last year with a gap in between the times and if a hard time is asking a question about food i'm paying for I don't want it". The customer service was horrible. They were rude and acted like I had to buy the food they were preparing. So I kept my composure and kindly asked for my money back because at this point I lost the appetite for the meal. A little bit more took place but i'm actually getting frustrated writing this.. I've been to this place several times & each time it was good!! Their grilled shrimp plates are fairly new so I decided to try it and I must say I was very pleased! Only issue was the carrots in the vegetable mix could have been cooked a little longer. Everything was seasoned just right! read more

Called in order. NO mashed potatoes. Added red beans & rice. Get in line 15 minutes later and after waiting 10 minutes for the one car ahead of me, drive up to window, and was told my order was not ready. Still no mashed potatoes! Um...just no. Ten minute time frame to make our order turned into 25 minutes. That might have been tolerable except for the saddest environment ever. Windows with bullet holes and generally filthy. Perpetual drying fan on the floor to abate dripping from either or both the ice machine and drink station. Walls, another fan on a stand, vents all covered with black dust deposits. Very strange mix of decor... from oriental to old tropic to vintage hot rod. All surfaces, horizontal and vertical in total disrepair and lack of maintenance. Let's get to the food. Two combos-one with three pieces chicken/the other with three pieces chicken tenders. Fried Chicken had so much excess grease that two brown industrial paper towels were soaked. That's what passes as napkins here. Was happy to have them. The complimentary Hawaiian roll seemed fresh. Mashed potatoes were meh, as there was no butter or gravy. The order with tenders did come with one each little plastic containers of bbq sauce and ranch dressing. Fried chicken meal came with three packets of hot sauce and five packets of ketchup. ??? Totally incongruous menu items. Chicken, fish, and egg rolls! Yet the name says Texas??Bathroom hand dryer is unplugged and no paper towels offered. I stopped here for lunch. I passed by this place a few times and was curious. I love good fried chicken and cajun food. So, I got the fried chicken combo #1 and a small seafood gumbo, 16oz. The fried chicken was a pleasant surprise, crunchy crust, tender and juicy inside. It was hot and tasted fresh out of the fryer. It was also a little spicy. Not too hot but definitely spicier than most! I wanted a side of dirty rice but it was cooking and not ready yet. So I got a side of cole slaw. It was your basic cole slaw, pretty good. I also got a small gumbo. The gumbo had a dark roux base, lots of veggies, the trinity, onion, bell pepper, and celery, also with tomato and okra. It had a good amount of shrimp, chicken, and sausage. It had rice in the bottom of the container. The gumbo was a hit as well. It had a great flavor and was also a little spicy. Again not too hot that you couldn't enjoy the flavor, but definitely got the sinuses cleared out! The atmosphere was very basic, red covered both benches, black table tops, orange painted walls. Fairly clean establishment, pretty friendly folks. Not a lot of interaction with the staff except taking your order and bringing your food. If you like fried chicken and are looking for something other than KFC, Church's, or Popeye's, give this place a try. You may find a new favorite. read more

Surprisingly good. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I have been there twice and got the exact same thing both times because everything I had was on point. We got 2 pieces of fried chicken which was slightly spicy and had a nice crisp coating which didn't over power the meat. We also got catfish which was also perfectly coated thinly not taking away from the fish which was moist and flavorful. The sauce they serve with it is like a remoulade and tasty. Coleslaw was ok; a little too sweet for my taste. The big surprise was the gumbo with big chunks of veggies and tender chicken and shrimp with a little bit of rice on the bottom. It was spicy enough to make your nose run a little but not overpower your senses. They also serve tacos and fried rice and a few other asian dishes which I haven't tried and most likely won't since it is far from where I live. But when I am hankering for fried chicken and fish I will be driving here for a fix! read more

Bigger and better than Wing Stop! As the name implies, it's a chicken joint but also serve Hispanic specialties like tacos and such. The dining room is pretty regular in appearance but clean and inviting. I visited at about 5 on a Friday nite and the place was deserted except for another lady waiting on a to go order. I also ordered and waited 10 minutes to get fresh chicken to go. I must have beaten the rush because in that 10 minutes, the place started to fill up. Like I said, the chicken pieces are larger and the wings are much larger than their nearest competitor. The chicken is crunchy and juicy with a Louisiana "kick!" Try it and you won't be disappointed. In fact, the only disappointment was they had no drive-thru window. But it's easy to see that a drive-thru window would create a traffic jam as cars would line up around the building and into the street. That's how good they are. read more
