Service and price are good. Food is good but not great. Meat dishes just need a heartier, more flavorful sauce. The place is clean.

I wish there was a NO star option. I use to come here often and it was great. Now... haha well let's just say I will NEVER waste my money again. Like I read in another post, I don't know what happened to this place but not only has it gone down hill it should be investigated by the health department. Probably one of the worst meals of my life. I am visiting here from California and my sister and I ate here. It was pretty much inedible. The food tasted extremely old and the only thing that was halfway decent were the crab Rangoon. The sweet-and-sour sauce has such a tinny taste to it. We didn't even dare go near the Sushi as neither one of us wanted to be up all night with food poisoning. Pretty bad. read more

The food was a disappointment to say the least. Every item was luke warm... no hot steamy items. The chicken items were tough... needed a really sharp knife to cut them. Tough and hard to chew. I went to Golden China Buffet today for lunch by myself. When I walked in and was waiting to be seated, the waiter (a middle aged white man) came up and asked if it was only one. When I said yes, he responded with "Oh that's sad, that's really too bad. Ok". That kind of response is so rude, disrespectful, and misogynistic that I was in a little bit of shock. If I had been a man that came to eat after a long day, I'm sure that he would not have found it "sad". It was a very uncomfortable lunch. The food is standard Chinese buffet food, a smaller selection than what I would hope for and more American than Chinese options. The buffet and a drink cost about $12. Food was average but since they were not busy, it was mostly leftovers and was pretty cold. The gentleman who rang me up (a younger Asian man) was very friendly and tried to engage me in friendly conversation. He is the only reason I am not giving this place one star. I will not be back and encourage anyone else who is willing to eat alone to find a more welcoming establishment. read more

This was the third Chinese buffet we tried in the Tyler/Whitehouse Area upon moving back to Texas from New York state. While it is not the superior Chinese food we found up north, it is comparable and much better than other buffets in this area. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and stays on top of empty plates and refills for drinks. I would recommend this buffet to visiting relatives as well as anyone who asks for advice on a good Chinese Buffet. read more

Went back today around 2:30 PM. We are the only customer and what we have are mostly "leftovers". We were charged for dinner. The owner if not the head waitress seems flat affect ( just like most chinese business owners are). They don't smile nor develop some social skills. Won't come back anymore. Whitehouse, TX has a very poor food selection. Golden China has livened up our food options! They have many Americanized Chinese dishes as well as excellently prepared Frog Legs which you won't find anywhere else. I visit this buffet anytime I'm in town! read more
