Service and price are good. Food is good but not great. Meat dishes just need a heartier, more flavorful sauce. The place is clean.

Service was great. We met Tina and her daughter. Her boys are in NY. She's quite hospitable and kind. The place was clean and well maintained. We ordered off the menu. The chicken was a little tough, but overall we were well pleased with our visit and will definitely be returning! read more

I wish there was a NO star option. I use to come here often and it was great. Now... haha well let's just say I will NEVER waste my money again. Like I read in another post, I don't know what happened to this place but not only has it gone down hill it should be investigated by the health department. Everything I got was lukewarm nowhere near regulation temperatures. It's sad when the fortune cookie was the best thing i ate. read more

Golden China Buffet - Fortune Cookie - Buffets Near Me - Whitehouse, Texas

Buffet was terrible!!! Not work the $50 for my family's lunch. The rice noodles were like eating glass not even cooked. Sushi tasted old Very sad it was 1230-100 right at the heart of lunch time and it wasn't busy read more

Not sure what has happened to this place. It either sold or who knows. I have not seen the old owners in awhile. The food has went to pot. The food is just barely ok. It use to be great. I was so disappointed that I may not go back. I like to buy local as much as I can in Whitehouse but it's getting where it's ether go here out of loyalty to Whitehouse or go someplace that has better food. read more

Probably one of the worst meals of my life. I am visiting here from California and my sister and I ate here. It was pretty much inedible. The food tasted extremely old and the only thing that was halfway decent were the crab Rangoon. The sweet-and-sour sauce has such a tinny taste to it. We didn't even dare go near the Sushi as neither one of us wanted to be up all night with food poisoning. Pretty bad. read more

Sushi was good delivered fast Buffet not so much Seems like buffet stuff sits there all day . Nothing more to say read more

The food was room temperature or cold the restaurant was extremely hot.I was n able to eat. I asked the employees if The air conditioner was out . The employees didn't understand English. read more

The buffet was very nice. The sweet/sour soup was excellent as was the egg drop. The pan fried dumplings were some of the best I've eaten. The sushi was fresh and while not a lot of choices the choices they had were delicious. read more

This is a very friendly day location. The food was really good. I didn't gi e the 5th starr only because there was a few things that where kinda hard but besides that 90% was fresh and was well worth eating. I recommend giving this place a try. read more

I went to Golden China Buffet today for lunch by myself. When I walked in and was waiting to be seated, the waiter (a middle aged white man) came up and asked if it was only one. When I said yes, he responded with "Oh that's sad, that's really too bad. Ok". That kind of response is so rude, disrespectful, and misogynistic that I was in a little bit of shock. If I had been a man that came to eat after a long day, I'm sure that he would not have found it "sad". It was a very uncomfortable lunch. The food is standard Chinese buffet food, a smaller selection than what I would hope for and more American than Chinese options. The buffet and a drink cost about $12. Food was average but since they were not busy, it was mostly leftovers and was pretty cold. The gentleman who rang me up (a younger Asian man) was very friendly and tried to engage me in friendly conversation. He is the only reason I am not giving this place one star. I will not be back and encourage anyone else who is willing to eat alone to find a more welcoming establishment. read more

The food was a disappointment to say the least. Every item was luke warm... no hot steamy items. The chicken items were tough... needed a really sharp knife to cut them. Tough and hard to chew. Noodles at room temp... just had to soak my plate in soy sauce to eat anything. The staff was very polite and the establishment was bright, pleasant and clean. read more

Good food. Buffet open. You line up and someone walks the buffet with you serving the items you want on you plate.

Good food and service! Always a fresh variety of food. Always our go to place for good Chinese

Tried twice won't be back. I love Chinese but both times I left sick. Very unfortunate!

The food is old and hard barley taste good the only thing nice here is the mirror in the restroom

WoW ... This place is really good ! Lots and lots of variety - food is fresh- All of the dishes you would expect on a Chinese buffet - plus a sushi bar and dessert area read more

I tried it for the first time. Tasteless, old and dried out. The only good thing about my visit was the young lady who waited on me.

This was recommended to us by a neighbor and I have to say we waited too long to try it. All this time we could have been eating here. The food is great, fresh and the restaurant is clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will return! read more

The times I've been (evening) the food has been pretty fresh and tasty. Staff is very nice. We enjoy having dinner there.

This was the third Chinese buffet we tried in the Tyler/Whitehouse Area upon moving back to Texas from New York state. While it is not the superior Chinese food we found up north, it is comparable and much better than other buffets in this area. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and stays on top of empty plates and refills for drinks. I would recommend this buffet to visiting relatives as well as anyone who asks for advice on a good Chinese Buffet. read more

Good food and service. The buffet is standard fare and the price is right. I wouldn't take a date here but for a good lunch at a fair price you can't beat it. read more

Went back today around 2:30 PM. We are the only customer and what we have are mostly "leftovers". We were charged for dinner. The owner if not the head waitress seems flat affect ( just like most chinese business owners are). They don't smile nor develop some social skills. Won't come back anymore. There's more restaurant selection in Tyler which is a few minutes away. read more

Totally average. We came based on the 4.5 star rating of others, and we were disappointed. The place wasn't busy, so food turnover was slow. Food selection was not impressive. Won't be going out of our way to come back. read more

Excellent Chinese Food and Service..... The Buffett is always Full, Hot and Amazing.... It's my Favorite Chinese Restaurant in the Tyler Area.... It's a little pricer than some others but I guess you get what you pay for.... read more

Whitehouse, TX has a very poor food selection. Golden China has livened up our food options! They have many Americanized Chinese dishes as well as excellently prepared Frog Legs which you won't find anywhere else. I visit this buffet anytime I'm in town! read more

I'm not a Chinese food lover. But, I do like eating here.. it's always clean food is great price is right.

I really like to eat at Golden China. It's the best restaurant in Whitehouse. The wait staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean, and reasonably priced food. It cost around $10 for lunch buffet. read more
