We carried out from Mings last summer as we were in town and found the food good but when I went in to order this visit I could not bring myself to order! A bucket of Dirty mop water greeted me as I approached to order and a view of a dirty and cluttered work area. I knew Mings was not a fancy eat-in restaurant but a no-frills, mainly carry out or delivery however, this made me highly question the sanitary conditions and habits of the employees and whether there was any management that cared! I love Ming's! I eat it just about once a week if not more. But seriously, the customer service is lacking BIG TIME! If you go in to eat, they are having all sorts of unnecessary loud conversations behind the counter to where all the customers can hear. I've literally had to get my daughter out of there before because the girls conversations are just horrible. And if you call in to place an order to go. You will get put on hold as soon as they answer for at least five minutes. But don't hang up and call back cause they will do the same thing again or just hang up on you. It's ridiculous. And this isn't just a one time experience, it's like this every single time. Shame on them. The food is great but the owner should consider getting rid of employees and starting fresh. read more

Well how disappointed am I. Cal in an order 15- 20. Minutes got there 18 minutes later. Long line in drive thou. I was in line for almost 40 minutes. I suggested they open up curb side service for call in orders. He said no. I then had to jump the curb to get out because of the cars backed up down Broadway. The food is great, but my first experience here involved me and my girlfriend standing at the counter and witnessing, who I can only assume was the manager, yelling at one of his employees behind the counter, in plain view of everyone to see, telling him "you shouldn't be inside, go outside. You can't be up here annoying people who are working" then proceeded to shove him, crumple his tip money up yelling "f*** this money" and throw it on the ground. This is my husband's and I go to place for Chinese food. We always choose from the steam table as it has the best deals and you can eat off the food portions for two days. You can tell they make the food from love as it has so much flavor. Good customer service as well! read more

The only reason this place is missing a star is because its not the classiest joint in town. I'm a Chinese food addict I think its a cure-all for anything that ails you (though I say that about Mexican food too) but this place is pretty great. The interior decor is circa cheap hotel dining room seating from the 70s but if you can look past that the place isn't that bad. I've discovered the who's who of Tyler hob nobs it here so how bad could it be right? The foods great. When they say its spicy they mean its actually spicy. And when you ask for extra spicy you actually get extra spicy instead of some cooks saliva or other bodily fluid spicing up your food. Try the beef dumplings with ginger sauce I love 'em! We ordered off the steam table, so I can't vouch for the fresh stuff but we were pleased with what we got. Let's be honest, this isn't authentic, locally sourced, made from scratch Chinese food. This is "better and cheaper than buffet" food, and we shouldn't judge it against the pricey homemade good stuff. I got the sesame seed chicken, lo mein, and bourbon chicken. They were tasty, hot, and the portions were huge. I ate less than half my plate and was stuffed. Best part- my meal was less than $7. Buffets are going to charge you $11 and then you won't even be able to take left overs home. Save your money, eat here, and if you're feeling adventurous- order off the menu, pick out plates for the table and share family style. When you can get them to take your order, the food is the best Chinese food we've found in town. I've been going there for years, so so disappointed to sit in the drive thru for over 7 minutes with no one to take our order (and no one inside getting their order taken). I love Mings! You get a lot of food for the price and it's delicious! I've never been inside. I always use the drive thru. You can order any dish as spicy as you want. I go for medium and it's perfect every time. My favorite: chicken and mushrooms (it has carrots, snow peas, baby corn and water chestnuts too), with medium spice. The chicken is all white meat! I went there on a Saturday afternoon to try a new Chinese place in Tyler. What a huge mistake...I ended up waiting in the drive-thru for 40 minutes! In the car in the front of me, there was an older couple. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the man in the passenger seat actually got out of his car and walked to Sonic. He came back with a bag of food within five minutes. As soon as they were in a position in which their car wasn't blocked off, they drove away. Now keep in mind, I normally wouldn't wait this long in a drive-thru, but my car was completely blocked in. After about 30 minutes of being trapped in the drive-thru, I was ready to leave. But I thought to myself "I've stuck it out this long, I might as well see if all this waiting was worth it." It wasn't. When I finally made it to the take-out window to pay, they tried to charge me for the order that the car in front of me had placed. After I explained that they had already driven off, the employee said "Well, we lost another one...", almost as if this was a common thing for them. The food was mediocre at best. And don't get me wrong, I can forgive mediocre chinese food...but not if it takes FORTY MINUTES to receive. I'll never eat here again. read more

My husband and I took our daughter and granddaughter for lunch. They brought two of the meals to the table and we waited another 20 minutes and the children's plates had still not been delivered, our food was already getting cold so my husband went and asked for a refund, which they did refund the children's plates and gave us to go boxes for our meals. The employees were friendly but If your intention is to eat together, I would avoid this place during the busy time. read more

There are very few Chinese places that I have disliked. This is now one of them. When I first walked in, there was nothing that caught my eye, other than the servers (they were very young and a little on the trendy side). They were polite and very nice. When I looked on the menu, there were quite a few choices. I'm not the very adventurous type so I got something that I knew I would like, chicken lo mein. When my plate did come I got a little excited. Their portions were enormous! But then the smell hit me. The odor was that of a frozen dinner I would have cooked in the microwave. I tried to push that aside as I took a bite of a piece of chicken. It had no flavor whatsoever. Well, it had distinct frozen-chicken-from-the-microwave flavor. I then tried the noodles which were a tad bit better, but not much. I added some sriracha which helped a little, but, again, not very much. I dont know whst alk the hype was about. My dish just didn't taste very good at all. Don't mean to be repetitive, but it just reminded me of something that came out of a microwave. Last time I'll be visiting here. read more

Awful service. I waited 40 minutes for food from the steam table which is supposed to be ready. I witnessed them give out food to several people who had ordered after myself. Then when they finally got to my order they gave me scraps from the bottom of the pan! That is absolutely unacceptable! I will not be back.
