We have been searching for good Chinese food since moving to the area and were very happy with our first experience at Ming Du! Service is great- very friendly, very fast. Food is freshly prepared and delicious. Stand out of my meal was the Mongolian beef- so flavorful! Portions are big and filling, prices are reasonable. We will be back!

Ming Du is one of those restaurants you walk in and just feel comfortable. The owner is very friendly with an infectious smile. The staff are all extremely friendly. Plenty of parking. Seats are comfortable, decor gives it that old school feeling. We started with the hot and sour soup. They do a great job with this. You can tell they put their heart into this. It has those complex flavors created by vinegar, whine and white pepper to give it a perfect kick. Absolutely delicious! The PuPu platter had a strong showing. The beef teriyaki was marinated perfectly and very tender. The fingers and shrimp were breaded perfectly with a nice crunch while the protein wasn't overcooked. Crab rangoons were creamy with a slight hint of sweetness. They were really good. Wings were really good right out of the kitchen. Overall the appetizers were really good! Thier pork fried rice (I get it without onions) was spot on, very good! Orange crispy beef will make you want to come back for more. To truly enjoy any crispy dish I always suggest eating in. This was great! Kung Pao chicken was cooked just right. Absolutely delicious! This a great place for Chinese food. Their prices are lower than most of the places I go. The also offer small and large sizes on a lot of their items including entrées. And they have a great selection of combo's! Check the out!

Not the warmest welcome... actually no real welcome at all. Walking into a place for the first time, I at least expect a greeting, but the "host" was helping someone else so idk? I wonder if she greeted the guy who walked in seconds before me? Maybe two ppl in a row was just too much? Grabbed one of the menus on the table to see what they had to offer. Tried to peak around corners to see if there was a buffet that day, but couldn't see anything due to the layout and decor so I asked and was told they don't have a buffet. Oh wow the host does speak! Lol Most have been old pre-covid buffet pics that i saw. I didn't know if I should seat myself for table service or how it worked so I just asked if I could sit at the bar, she said yes. I'm in an unfamiliar city, and the bar is usually a safe space everywhere. The bartender was helping other patrons and also tending to surrounding booths. When she finally came over, I had to ask for a drink menu. I wanted the pineapple something but settled on a beer because she seemed busy. I sat there hungry wanting to order food for a minute. When i finished my beer, she came back over. Luckily I had made a decision from the menu I saw up front. Getting my usual from every new Chinese restaurant I try (I assumed it was Chinese looking at the menu) General Tso's Chicken combo and fried wontons... Tbh when she asked if I wanted fried or white rice, I should have went with my gut that said white rice. I had noticed that two different diners at the bar had not eaten their fried rice, But I wanted to be consistent in ordering at new place. The fried rice was disgusting. Then I tasted it again and was still like nope, It still wasn't good. The chicken was okay, it could have been crisper. I liked the sauce because it tasted just like the brand I buy at home. The egg roll was excellent! The "fried wonton" was a disappointment. There was no stuffing or filling, which was a first for me. They were literally fried wonton wrappers. I left most of them behind along with that rice. I had a blue moon draft since they ran out of Angry Orchard. The beer was fine. I mean the bartender slightly warmed up after I ordered food and said it was to dine in. Maybe at first she thought i was doing takeout so her tip would be small. I could see she was very friendly with the locals. Or Maybe they don't like out-of-towners here? When I left, I thought maybe it's because I had on a NY Yankees hat and anyone who follows sports knows about their rival with Boston. Not sure why I'm making excuses for this place, but If there was ever I next time (doubtful) I hope I remember to leave my hat in the car... maybe I'll have a better experience

Going 4 stars on this spot. The food is always decent, but the service has always been great whenever I come.

Foods usually good but you need to double check the order. They seem to screw up things and don't really care if the customer is unhappy

I went back and asked for the hot chilli oil/paste. That helped. Food was hot and good. Filled the desire for a Chinese buffet.

When will this restaurant re-open? I can't find any Chinese food that'll match up to this establishment 😣

Went back for a dinner a year after the big "under new management" change. Interesting findings…read more -- Egg Rolls: A little small, a little dry, but nicely crisp, old school celery filling, and VERY intense BBQ pork flavor inside. Almost like a pork bun. A little above average thanks to the flavor. -- Chinatown Ribs: Not available when they first did the new management thing, but their signature babybacks are back, at least as a special. A different cut from the spares, these are a little pricey at $28, and odd cutting-- some wide, some narrow-- but very thick (2" in spots) and very juicy. Just enough glaze, and thankfully not all over the cross sections, because these fresh-cooked ribs have nothing to hide and need no crutch (I'm looking at you, Jasmine Garden). Very pleasant flavor. Near-elite. -- Yu Hsiang Beef (on a combo): Yes, they do dinner combos. The beef was very tender, with pleasant spicy flavor and sweetness to balance it out. It seems the sweetness is a new twist; I preferred the version I had twice a year ago that was much more spicy and savory, but this was good. Nice assortment of peppers and wood ear mushrooms. Above average. -- Spareribs (on a combo): Had to try these too. These changed a little from a year ago (previously near-elite once and elite once)-- not as thick and no scoring of the surface. Delicious glaze, but dry and probably a reheat. Will definitely get these again, but as a full order, not as extras plopped onto a combo. A little below average, but still some good signs. -- Pork Fried Rice (on a combo): Dry. Muted flavor. Below average. -- General Gau's Chicken: Very crispy and staying crispy throughout the meal, these flattened, bumpy mini cutlets had quality chicken, good tenderness, and a complex sauce mixing heat into the sweet the way the General is supposed to but which most don't. Caramelly delicious. Near-elite to elite. Some bumps in the road still, but still plenty to like.

First impression, this is a large restaurant, very clean and modern with a nice long bar, The lunch specials are 12.50 - 13.50 or so. Not bad. What you get is the main dish and either fried or white rice only. No appetizer and no soup but that's fine, it's lunch and I just need to eat a normal portion of a tasty dish and that is what we got. My buddy got Yu Hsaing beef and hot n sour soup. I tasted the dish and it was delicious especially the mushrooms that had absorbed the mildly spicy yet savory sauce. I got Three Delights which was fine though I believe the shrimp was frozen and understandable as I imagine fresh deliveries were held up due to a paralyzing snowstorm. One minor complaint had to ask for duck sauce and had to ask for tea and was in fact charged for the cup of tea 1.75 I believe. Waiter nice guy, thought funny he was using the universal belt LOL it was probably a size 40 belt and he was a skinny guy maybe a 30 waist, so it did look odd. With the tip was 43 bucks, a bit more than what I like to spend at lunch, but it was a relaxing time. On the way out had a chat with I believe the owner or maybe manager very nice guy. I will come back.
