Minella's is the perfect diner for Sunday breakfast. If you do indeed head in on a Sunday, expect a wait. But you'll be waiting for something delicious if you're ordering pancakes. Since I'd had french toast the day before, I took a swing at banana chocolate chip pancakes. For 3 ginormous pancakes, it was 9.95! Not too shabby. Plus, I was able to share with everyone at the table and still leftover. Great spot in the middle of Radnor Township. Food was ok. The server was an older waiter (tall, foreign with grey hair) who was very rude and rushed us through all of our orders. We had my special needs brother with us, and the waiter kept cutting him off and flaring his eyebrows when he was too slow to answer a question he asked of him. My father and I both held our tongue multiple times. This waiter clearly has no patients when it comes to people. He should NOT be working in a diner that is always busy. This man was very ignorant, and because of him and his incredibly rushed service I will never come to this restaurant again. read more

It was ok. It also could have been that we hadn't eaten all day and it was 4 in the morning when we finally arrived at our destination. I will say the idea of a caprese omelette was a good one. The taste was there but I found the mozzarella to be too much and too thick. I have to remove most of the cheese due to this. My son loves the tuna melt and he had fries which were nice and hot. Popular spot on the Main Line....everyone has bee here. It's very popular among high school and college students. There's also dedicated older customers who I see here a lot. Their desserts are really good! They have a huge selection. Their pancakes, milkshakes, and fries are my favorites. Some of the food is just ok, depends on what you order. It can also be a little pricy for a diner. I usually only go when I'm with a large group of people and we are splitting different plates. Good service. It's a neighborhood place. The diner does get crowded and at dinner time I've definitely seen a long line. It's a good diner, but with so many great restaurants for the same price, I usually go somewhere else. They keep their customers with good relationships and the fact that they are open 24/7. So bottom line: you should try it, but there isn't a dish that I go there for. Expansive menu options, all served fast with great service. We ordered the stuffed grape leaves for an appetizer. They're very good! I had the Moussaka, which was delicious; our son had a burger, which he enjoyed very much (they're huge--1/2 pound patties); and my husband enjoyed his meatball sandwich a lot. We worried when we pulled in because the parking lot was really full that we would have to wait, but we barely waited at all. We were seated within 2-3 minutes. Being new to area, we are pleased to have found this restaurant within a short distance from our new home. We will return, probably to try the breakfast. read more

Long time staple for me is this establishment! Open 24/7 too and always did! As far as diners go and for lunch with your teenage daughter this is a great stop! The menu is a book and the waiter we had will oblige a person in a hurry or ones like us who were lunching and visiting each other. Can't ever go wrong with the steak fries...always yummy in my tummy! If not having breakfast a Turkey club is a staple for me when eating at these type establishments. First impressions of Minella's Diner: eh. It's a cute diner and very clean, but once we entered and waited to be seated, we were greeted with a rude host and an even more rude waitress. As my boyfriend ordered, he looked at the side orders to add to his entree, and the waitress quickly cut him off and took the menu from him... we were not only surprised but almost disgusted. It was very abrupt and rude, and it is one of the main reasons we will not return. When paying, the host, again, was short and we ultimately did not feel welcome. The food was the only enjoyable part of the experience, which is still just average "diner food". In our opinions, there are far more diners with exceptional food AND customer service. read more

Have dined here consistently for over the past 20 years with my family. I understand these are strange times, but in 3+ visits over the past several months the service has been consistently slow and rude (not only to us, but other patrons around us). We had such high expectations and through recent reviews were not flattering we still wanted to try the diner as we love diners. Maybe breakfast would be better but lunch was blah! I asked for caramelized onions on my burger instead or red onions and the waitress was annoyed even though caramelized onions were on the menu, when my burger was delivered cold it had about 1/3 cup of onions. My son and I both got the Jack burger and upgraded to a deluxe which comes with BOTH onion rings and fries. I got 2 onion rings he got ONE...literally ONE. Waitress never came back to check on us though she walked by our table multiple times. Best part of my burger was the bun, so sad to say as we really hoped for better. read more

I'm giving Minella's 5 stars for multiple reasons. First - the service. Every server I've ever had has been amazing. Everyone I've encountered at Minella's is so kind, and it's half the reason I keep going. I once went with my boyfriend late at night and we spilled not one, but TWO full glasses of water and someone came to help right away and he was very understanding. Second - the food. It's some good old fashioned diner food. I know I'm always gonna get something good, no matter what. The only time anyone I've gone with didn't like their food, the server almost immediately replaced the food with better food. Third - the hours. Sometimes during finals season, I'm just craving waffles. Thank god Minella's is open 24 hours! Just go to Minella's. You won't regret it. read more

Service and the food was good if run of the mill. Only detractors were that my friend got two refills without asking. I had to flag someone down and ask to get just 1 refill. the other minor detail was I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The issue? There was no bacon to be seen. Not good. We were very disappointed. Minella's is usually good. $45 worth of food in the trash. The chicken Nachos were so dry nothing stuck to the tortilla chips. The pattie melt burger looked like it had been cooked hours ago. Bone dry. The open face hot turkey sandwich was meh. On the dry side also. The broccoli was hard(undercooked) but the mashed potatoes were good. They offer curb side pick up and we arrived at the appointed time but no real direction when you get there and nobody ever came out so we ended up going inside to pick up our order. Oh and they forgot to give us our soup and our apple pie that we were charged for. Not sure if it was an off night or what. read more

I wish there was a way to leave less than 1 star. I work nearby and have been here many times. The food is ok even by diner standards. Today, my friend who moved back to the area wanted to go to this familiar place. I ordered an omelette and bacon. Bacon never came, no mention from our server Randy. I notice a smudge of chocolate, on the rim of my plate. I didn't want to wait for a replacement but my friend flagged Randy over so I showed him the chocolate. He said it probably came off his hand from touching another plate with chocolate chips. I already figured that, said I didn't want a replacement. I said 3 more times, I didn't want to wait for a replacement. He glared at me and asked another time in the most inappropriate tone "What do you want?!" I couldn't help it, I said, I'd like you to get out of my face so I can eat my meal. I shouldn't have said that. I was responding to his tone and attitude. Almost as if to say if you don't want me to replace your meal then why'd you flag me over? I started out just wanting to let him know it happened. It's like I threw him off his square by not asking for a replacement. He was so put off by my asking him to leave me alone he wouldn't talk to me the rest of the time. Came by the table but spoke to my friend. I couldn't even ask him where my bacon was. Randy brings the check, tells me he took the omelette off. I said I never got the bacon. He said loudly, "you want me to take the bacon off. Fine!" Sorry, for not wanting to pay for something I never got. I left Randy a $5 tip anyway though he didn't deserve it. Why? Im asian. And know without a doubt if I didn't leave him a tip or left him the sort of tip he deserved, he would've made it about my ethnicity. Lose lose lose coming here today. Won't return. This is the second and last time I will go here. My kids wanted to eat breakfast for dinner and there are few casual restaurants in the area that offer this. We arrived around 5:30 and were seated right away. The waiter asked me twice within about a minute if we were ready to order- a bit rushed I'd say! I had to put a kid in a high chair and take off my coat still. We ordered a short stack of pancakes (read 2) with some bacon and 2 orders of scrambled with bacon and hash browns, as well as 2 cups of milk. We paid $27 before tip. That's outrageous as it costs not even $1 to make each each plate. The food tasted awful- burnt home fries, eggs tasted bland and kind of bad, and the toast was burnt and no one ate it. And, of course, a diner experience is never complete without a sticky menu, which we had. Shame on me for trying this place again. read more

I don't know if I have ever been to an actual diner but Minella's definitely had the diner look. It had typical diner food and was kind of pricey, which I suppose reflects the area. I ordered the oatmeal with strawberries and it was a pretty large size that I didn't finish. My friends ordered the breakfast sandwich which seemed like nothing special. Another ordered the french toast... now that was huge! They gave 4 big pieces of french toast. It seemed decent and very filling. I will actively search out a diner and when I found Minella's on a Saturday morning trip to Wayne, the wife and I decided to give it a shot. The service was outstanding, we had a waiter who came back to make sure everything was good and the coffee was full. My food was cold, it seems like the timing isn't perfect, wife's omelet was piping hot, my food looked like it had been sitting under a lamp for a period of time. I'm a regular here, but just for breakfast. My omelette, made to order, consists of the following elements on the periodic table: Ba (Bacon), Pv (Provolone), and On (Onion). These elements combine with Eg (Egg) and heat to form the molecule Om (Omlette), essential to human existence. The molecule Om will often bind with Gt (Gut) to form F (Fat), requiring the application of heat and Yg (Yoga) to unbind said F from Gt, revealing Ab (Abs). Ab then combines with Ax (Axe) to attract Ht (Hottie), resulting in Ma (Marriage) and Wah (Baby). So, check out Minella's and see if the above formula holds true. So I came here this morning with my mom and sister for some breakfast/lunch at around noon time. It was mobbed with a lot of people (to be expected for a Sunday at a diner and the service was mediocre). The food was not very good at all. I had a fruit salad with melon that still had a lot of seeds in it and a bran muffin that was bitter. My mom and sister had the pancakes and they didn't like them either. This is a nostalgia review rather than a current assessment of the restaurant. I lived across the street from Minella's Diner growing up in Wayne. My dad took my sister and I there at least once a week for years and years. We'd play Galaga or Ms. Pacman and enjoy a burger and black and white milkshake. My dad was infinitely curious about people so he'd accost other diners and ask them questions. My sister and I were mortified and embarrassed. In 1983, my Mom and Dad revealed a big surprise to us during our meal. That my mom was pregnant with who would become our little sister. Yup, Minella's was the site for the big announcement. Minella's was like that for my family. It was an extension of our own kitchen. It was home. We knew all the staff and the manager, a roly poly man, who's name I've since forgotten. I went to Minella's a couple of years ago. It's been redone, but the layout is the same. But when I went, I couldn't see the place for what it is, but for what it was. I felt a pang of regret because my Dad has passed away and I strongly felt his presence while I ate. I'm glad Minella's is still there. read more

Haven't been to this diner since my 'Nova days. I stopped in for lunch because I was in the area and it was close and convenient. It definitely hadn't really changed that much since the last time I had been there. The place was thriving with customers and it actually flowed like a well oiled machine. The wait was quick and the service was even quicker. Our waiter didn't really know how to smile but that's okay cause he was quick to take our order and bring our food. Minella's is my diner. If I want to eat an egg and I don't feel like cracking one of my own, I go to Minella's. The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean. They keep my coffee filled. Minella's has treated me well for the better part of a decade, and I love them unconditionally. Not to say that they're perfect. Parking can be a bit of a pain around peak hours in their smallish lot. It can get crowded, as diners tend to, with babies and college students and the elderly ("the ornery ages"). Their home fries the kind that are charred on the outside and mushy on the inside. How do they do that. Why do they do that. Potatoes are supposed to always be delicious. Regardless: I love Minella's. I never have to wait on a table, and I never have to sit with an empty cup. I can live with the home fries. They're better with a lot of ketchup. read more

Wow--that was a terrible experience, terrible enough that it warranted writing my first Yelp review. After being seated, our waitress Jules immediately brought waters out and proceeded to ask what would we be having (no other conversation or if we'd like other drinks). Being that we literally had just sat down and opened our menus, we weren't ready (their menu is extensive). We asked for a few minutes and she walks away. Jules proceeds to go behind the counter to watch us. Jules comes by almost exactly two minutes later to ask again. We had barely flipped over to the second page! I say we're not ready yet, and her reaction is a very odd "Byeeeeee" as she walks away. Another minute or so later, Jules is standing over top of us, flipping over a page on her notepad. When neither one of us look up (as we're STILL very clearly browsing our menus), she simply walks away with a loud huff. After we both look up and are talking about our options, Jules appears again and again I ask her for a few minutes as I'm not ready yet. Her reaction was visibly annoyed and she walked away. I could understand if the place was jam packed, but it's 11:30 on a Monday with plenty of open tables, and we had not been in there for more than ten minutes at this point. We finally order and await our food. I order a chicken Caesar wrap and my boyfriend orders a sausage omelette. It's brought out after a short wait by Jules...along with our check. Which wouldn't seem odd, but we did plan to get dessert and it felt that our business wasn't wanted when the check was handed over prematurely. After eating all of my fries and some of the wrap, the soup du jour that's SUPPOSED to come with the platter doesn't come out, I have to flag down Jules. I figured since it specifically says soup du jour, I would be receiving what the soup of the day was. She hadn't checked on us since delivering our food. Her attitude when being asked to come over was astounding and actually surprised that something could've been wrong. When I inquired about the soup, she says "Oh, most people don't want it so I didn't ask." WHAT?! She continued to ask if I wanted it now or to go (which I wanted neither now that I was done and annoyed with the dining experience), she gives me a very snippy "well what do you want me to do?" After I presented the option of giving me a discount because this was a horrible way to spend my birthday (which is truly is), she says "management won't do that but I'll try just because it's your birthday." IMO, you should try to rectify the situation EVERYDAY. They end up taking off my boyfriend's $1.5 coffee--fine, it's something. I thank her for the gesture but ask if I could also talk to the manager myself. She says "oh no need for that, I already talked to him." After I urge her to get him, she gives in. He's not much better. When I explain what happened, he shrugs and says "oh I'm sorry about that so...". He too offers a soda, a coffee, a dessert. I explain that we're both very much done eating and would just like to get out. He doesn't say much other than he'll talk to the waitress as we get up and pay our bill at the front. One star simply because my boyfriend said his omelette was pretty good. I will never go here again after this experience. Main Line eaters, stop supporting this establishment and their sorry excuse for service. Too many BETTER options within a short distance for the same cost. read more
