Don't live in the area, saw it from the road US45. People friendly, portions large, average priced, lots of variety food especially kids menu. Disappointed about how dirty it was. The bathroom was disgusting. Around the faucet had years of built up gunk and paper towel dispenser did not work. Seeing this 1) Not going into the stalls 2) Is this how the kitchen is? Pictures on the wall next to the table needed to be cleaned. If cleaned up, would really be a great restaurant. Just gave this place a second chance. First time I had the rib tips. They were mostly fat and I didn't like the sauce. Second time today, I got the chicken basket under the dinners menu, it was just chicken tenders and fries. Chicken was dry, fries tasted like they were fried in the oil that also fried fish. I am a big fan of Mindy's! From the ribs to the pulled pork to the BBQ chicken dinner, you can't go wrong. Really good barbecue at the joint. The sauce is delicious and there is some on each table for those of us that like to pile it on. For those that aren't fans of barbecue, the extensive menu has something for everyone. As someone who likes the occasional BBQ and I have had better BBQ and it didn't taste like charcoal and the food at Mindy's wasn't cutting it. I had a double cheeseburger with seasoned fries it was ok, nothing to write home about. You're also subjected to a god awful annoying jingle that repeats every 5 minutes over the loudspeaker. I will come again but only if I run out of choices...giving that the restaurant is in Mokena just about in the middle of nowhere just a hop skip and a jump from I-80. I can find much better places than Mindy's anyway....the food court at Orland Park is better than this place. Been in here a few times. The food/service is hit & miss. I ordered the chicken oregano, my wife ordered the ribs & chicken. Our food arrived at our table surprisingly fast. Once we tasted it, we realized why. The chicken was very dry & luke warm, appeared to have been sitting for a while. My wife sent her chicken back. The best part of my meal was the baked potato & corn bread. Looking around at the table, the salt/pepper shakers, the napkin dispenser were filthy. Major turn off in my book. If the dining area is visibly dirty, I can only imagine the cleanliness of what wasn't visible. The place is staffed by kids that could care less that you just spent over $30 on crappy old food. I go here for lunch on occasion since it's close to my work and has quick service. You order at the counter, they give you a number and bring your food to the table. Fountain drinks and refills are self serve. I really like their gyros, cheeseburgers, and different soups they offer. Despite what the other reviewer said, I have always found it adequately clean and have never seen or heard of any bug problems. I highly doubt they would be as busy as they are and be allowed to stay open if that were true. read more

I really like the ribs here. Tender, good flavor, really saucy. The Italian beef was good too. The only thing I didn't like we're the fries. Mine tasted like they were fried three times. I've only used the drive-thru window but I've gotten really good customer service every time. read more

Average at best. We got the grilled chicken sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich also cream of broccoli soup with cheese fries. Chicken sandwich was just barely a step above McDonald's. Pulled pork was ok but way to much bread. Fries were average and cheese for the fries was some kind of inedible substance. Soup was definitely the best part and the reason for 3 stars instead of 2. If your looking for similar to the patio, this isn't it. If you want an average dinner then try it out. Not sure if we'll be returning. read more

Good BBQ sauce. There are those of us that prefer ribs that fall off the bone and those that prefer to gnaw on their ribs. Mindy's fits the latter. I compare them most to Carson's Ribs which is another rib joint that I like. And the ribs are reasonably priced. The rest of Mindy's menu is typical fast food fare. Not surprising since their set up is fast food. But their prices are a bit high for these items. Be sure to take advantage of the coupons they offer everywhere. And the fries are bad. Huge portions. Nice and hot. My wife took home the Greek salad and what amounted to a whole gyro. Mine was delicious, too!

Unfortunately my kids love this place probably more because of the ice cream after the meal than the meal itself. The ribs are nothing to brag about and the sauce is probably saltier than most that you'll taste. in fact I've noticed swelling in my fingers whenever I have the ribs, most likely because the sauce is so salty. The rest of the menu items such as the burgers and their other sandwiches are also good for if you are really hungry and are tired of eating at other places but are nothing to praise about. The last meal I had included ribs for my kids, tips for the wife and looking to try something different I ordered the Oreganato Chicken which is their version of Greek Chicken. The chicken even though it was drenched in the lemon butter sauce was still dry and somewhat flavorless. I work in the area and my office decided to order Mindy's so we went to grubhub and placed the order. Not a large order The Tuesday Chicken Special, A Salad and baked potato. The order was sent at 2:20pm with a time for pick-up at 2:45pm when my coworker arrived at 2:45 the lady Gale said it was not ready and that they called us to let us know they were going to be late.However, there was never a call from Mindy's and then she waited until 3:10pm to finally be able to leave with the food. There was no discount offered even when asked for the error not even a free soda. We were not able to eat the food however due to the time we finally received the food. The food was good but due to lack of customer service and total disrespect for our order and the lie of a phone call we will take our LUNCHES elsewhere. read more

I just left here a few minutes ago . The ribs is the worst I ever got from here. We ordered full slab with corn and fries. The ribs was black and full of sauce to try and hide the condition of the ribs. My husbands hamburger was decent but not worth the price. Mindy's has consistently been so-so in my book. The only reason we go here is the proximity to our house when we are desperate for something quick. Otherwise I'd probably never eat here. If you get the food "to-go" it's usually a long wait at the drive thru and be sure to check your order because it's almost never right. Our first time dining at Mindy's Ribs and it was a good experience. Menu is large and something for everyone. Prices are fair. We had the rib tips and they were meaty and a fine sauce. The sample of food options on the counter were helpful in making a decision. The person assisting us, Tyler was patient and very helpful in explaining the options since we were using a coupon. After reading the sorry reviews posted on here, I feel compelled to write a review of my own. My husband and I have eaten at Mindys Ribs in Mokena many times and have never had a bad experience. My husband always gets the 1/2 slab ribs and believe me if they were ever served to him less than piping hot, he would complain loudly! A few Months ago we got 2 slab dinner through the drive through. It didn't smell right to me, you know how your mouth should water by just the scent! I thought it was because I had a slight cold at the time. We both got food poisoning. Well hoping it was a one time deal we went back tonight 10/9/2015. Went through the drive through again - received our rib dinners and it just didn't smell right again. I refuse to take the chance of ruining my weekend with a nasty case of food poisoning again so we turned around and took it back inside. The young man at the register took it to the manager and she just got the money back and brought it to me not asking anything as to why I wanted my money back. And that tells me this must happen often don't you think! Needless to say we won't be back ever again and I will warn all my friends and family. read more

Ribs were fatty. Corn cob was cold, cornbread was luke warm at best. Cream of chicken soup was terrible-it was like eating thick gravy at thanksgiving dinner with 2 tiny pieces of meat, clumps of either mushy noodle?? or could have been the crusty layer of gravy that dries on the top of the pot that was mixed in when they served it?? who knows! (Although the soup was hot) All guests in the party decided we will never return. Upon leaving one guy used the bathroom and couldn't wash his hands because the cold water didn't work and the hot came out scorching.
