I've been getting my nails done at Mimi's since I moved to Spokane in March. I love this place!! I always get compliments on my nails and I always tell them I get them done at Mimi's. The quality of the work speaks for itself. Before going to Mimi's I always had my acrylics breaking in between fills. But in these last 6 months I think I've only had two broken nails. Mimi is always willing to try any new design ideas I've seen and sometimes she wants to try new ones she's seen. I'm always down to be the test rabbit for her designs! Moving here was a little nerve racking, but i met Mimi and Kim during my first week and they were so kind to me. Kim is probably the sweetest person I've ever met and always remembers the conversations we've had, which is really nice. I love coming Mimi's, I always feel so welcome. I highly recommend this nail salon. I've referred some of my college students, who are now regulars too. I suggest calling ahead because they are very popular and get really busy sometimes. So it my first time here after reading the reviews I wanted to give it a try. I called at 11:45 am on a Friday and she told me to come in at 2:30 for SNS and Pedicure. When I arrived promptly at 2:30 there was 2 people servicing (Kim and MiMi) and 8 people in the shop! 3 on pedicure bowls and 3 on nails chairs and 2 waiting. Now let me give a disclaimer before I continue. MiMi and Kim are so very kind and attentive and I really appreciate that, but I still have to be honest about the time issue. We didn't start until 3:05 and again my appt was 2:30. I got the deluxe pedicure but I did feel it was rushed and didn't find the massage to be longer as it states. She did all the extras, cleaned well but it was no longer than a regular pedicure and 2x the cost. Now, it is actually 5:00pm and I'm still getting my nails done now. I'm late for appts I had scheduled and it's still looking like another 15-25 mins before I'm done. Again, they are very kind and I think they just ran behind and was short staffed but that didn't change the fact that also greatly set me behind as well. My feet look great and the nails were cleaned very well. I'm very pleased with my SNS ombré which few people if any other have done here in Spokane. Their prices are average to most shops. Suggest: This is a ladies time to relax, well it is for me. I don't want my time split with you running handling other clients during my set appointment. Just take future schedule in consideration because it may be better to turn down appts rather than make schedule clients feel Secondary. So much attention to detail, not only do my French tips look absolutely perfect, Mimi took a lot of extra time really cleaning around the cuticles, etc, ensuring that this will be a pedicure that will last a long time. Everyone was very friendly and conversational. And the prices were quite reasonable, $23 for a pedicure, $30 with French tip. Very hygienic and clean. And they even sent me on my way with a three-piece file kit to maintain my nails, as well as a punch card - 10th visit free! l will no longer be trying one chain nail salon after another. Full disclosure, I am a nail tech, and this is the worst pedicure experience I've ever had. I wanted to treat my boyfriend to his first pedicure ever, and am saddened to say this was his first experience. First off - we both got deluxe pedicures. I had gel on my toes, and the girl who did my pedicure was some younger looking girl with green hair. When she heard I had gel, she had this nasty attitude about it, and whipped out her nail drill, usually I would do the same, but she literally drilled all of my nail layers away. My nails are so sensitive and hurt. I would pull away and she literally grabbed my foot and continued to use the drill on my toes. She pulls out the scrub, and points out to the lady doing my boyfriends pedicure, who I believe is the owner, that there are flies in my scrub that she is about to use on our feet. Continued to fish out the scrub with out the flies and applied it to our legs. I don't know why I didn't call her out on it, I guess I was super embarrassed that this was my boyfriends first experience ever. When it came to using the foot paddle, she literally brushed it against my foot maybe 3 times and was done. I'm sorry but I really needed the foot paddle done correctly, cause my feet are still very rough. My boyfriend was like "damn she did you hella dirty". I was very confused as to why she applied the lotion to my leg and then put it back in the water... I didn't understand the logic in the order and steps she took to do my pedicure. On top of being baffled that there were flies in the scrub and she still used it, and the fact that I didn't do anything or saying anything. I asked for French tip, that was about the only nice thing about my pedicure is that the paint job looked nice. But my toes burned so bad inside the lamp because she drilled my nail plates down so much.. Do not come here, HLO should come do an inspection. read more

I would give this place a two star. I usually get my nails done on special occasions so I decided to give this place a try for my one year anniversary getaway. I called for an appointment but when I got there I had to wait 10-15 minutes because both of the ladies were doing nails to other clients. So making an appointment was pointless. I just want to start off by saying that Mimi is such a sweet woman. I loved talking to her and she was so kind. However my experience was just, beyond words. I had booked two appointments for my sister-in-law and I for acrylics and pedicures. There were only 2 women working, one doing pedicures and one doing manicures. Unfortunately, she truly overbooked, and everything was a complete mess. I wish I had read the reviews thoroughly, as she works on you one by one during your nail session. Although my nails look great, the process took almost 3 hours. She did half of the process, sent me to my pedicure and then I had to wait in between 3 polish changes to complete my nails. This was not okay. My sister-in-law went through the same process. I also noticed a man waiting 45 minutes for a pedicure... so wrong! My pedicure was also, awful. Although me and the nail tech had a great conversation, she cut off a lot of my nails on the side and I'm in a ton of pain. My pedicure also looks like a 5 year old did it. I opted for the Deluxe just because I had not gotten a pedicure since COVID started and I wish I didn't. This spot is right by my house. Those who know me (and most Yelpers don't) I love to travel 4 minutes and then I'm over it. So for a nail salon to open up right across the street from the coffee shop I love, I of course had to try it. Mimi, the owner is super friendly. she has lots of conversation the entire time she is doing your nails. So there is never any awkward flipping of a magazine. She rememebers your life the next time you see her and genuinely cares for her clients. She does really great stone pedicures for an awesome price. Oh and massage chairs. That's all. The nails were beautiful when they were done, lasted me 3 weeks without any chips and looked just as good when I got them changed as they did when I first got them. First time here and I called for a gel mani within an hour of closing. They told me to come in no problem. You can tell the customer service and courtesies like staying late is probably common here. I had my nails done by Kim, and Mimi was helping other customers, both women are extremely friendly and fun. I asked Kim about "dipping" and she told me she loved how long "dipping" her nails last and got her nails healthier, unlike the gel that thins the nail out and peels much faster. I decided to get the "dipping powder" and Kim was super excited. Even though this ended up taking a little longer than gel would, neither worker once gave me the impression that they were bothered by having to stay later for the job to get done. I absolutely love my nails and I am excited to see how long they last before I need to get them done. I am definitely coming back to Mimi's though! Me and my girls went there the other day, someone gave them a gift certificate. One of the younger girls who did my pedi didn't do a very good job. I got a hot stone message and I swear she rubbed my leg twice. She probably said two words to me and looked at me once. I went in the nail salon and showed a picture of a cow print nail and I asked if they knew how to do it and said yes. The older lady did my nails and when she started putting black dots on just one nail, I told her that I did not want polka dots but cow prints ( there is a difference. ) I showed her the picture again and she said same same and I said hell no. Then I just told her to leave it plain white and she got really mad. I also noticed that my nails were SO SO thick and I asked her to make them thiner because I do not like thick nails and she even got more mad and started to file my nails really hard. And the way she looked at me though ... She charged me $65 for plain white nails just because she did a really bad job and I asked her to fix it. DON'T EVER GO THERE !!! Both of their acrylic nail sets were way overpriced and looked awful. One of my daughters wanted them off before we even left the salon, they were stubby and ugly. She left in tears and feels stuck with these things glued to her fingers. My other daughter is currently trying to file a proper shape into hers because they were uneven and jagged and they couldn't seem to get them right at the salon.
