We haven't been here in years, and the service started out slow but it was forgiven due to the excellent service after our waiter finally acknowledged we were seated (I think the hostess stand didn't tell him and we were there on an "off hour") I tried their new Rustic Chicken and Artichokes, excellent. Could have used a tad bit more sauce but that is just my personal preference. And of course, you have to try one of their muffins. This time it was Carrot Cake, YUM! read more

Mimi's Cafe used to be a Murfreesboro Avenue Shopping favorite. When they first opened in Murfreesboro, we were blown away by the brunch and the over-the-top friendly service. We loved sitting out on the patio for our meals. Now, I'm so sad that the food, service and overall experience has really fallen short the past several times we've been. I'm not sure what happened? Perhaps change in staff and/or management? Either way, it's not the same standard and it's no wonder that this place is seemingly empty the majority of the time. I hope that they can turn it around at some point and I can write a glowing review. I sure do love the carrot raisin nut bread. My grievances the past few times have been a filthy outside patio area, bad service and sub-par food. The menu is great, just not the delivery. P.S. They are always out of chicken-pot-pie, so don't even bother ordering. I almost feel like the chicken-pot-pie is like the McFlurry availability is at McDonald's - the machine is always "broken." read more

Came here last year and food took an hour to come out and wasn't even good. I regret spending my money here. Never coming back

Food had no flavor. My wife took two bites of her omelet and was done. We left it and didn't bring it home.

First time at Mimi's Cafe and we enjoyed the food and loved the $5 mimosa! I got the chicken and waffles which was okay and my husband got the corned beef hash which he loved. The customer service was PHENOMENAL! Our server Chloe, was soooo nice and did such a good job. We had a 35 minute wait to be seated but the food came out rather quickly. Would definitely recommend and we will check it out again when we visit Murfreesboro. read more

Not sure what's going on in murfreesboro but this is the 3rd restaurant I've been to where the food was brought out to the table with hair in it. Not sure if hair beats are worn in the kitchen but to bring a plate of food to the table with hair on it means that several layers of checks were not done. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

We are just visiting, we don't live here, but loved this place!!! Such a cute, French style atmosphere. They serve both breakfast and lunch between 11 and 3, so that was nice. They have a huge menu of options and even have the calorie counts next to each item. I had the salmon and frites- delicious! read more

Colleen is my favorite server. Gives the best recommendations and so happy. Loved her spirit and attitude. It was super busy and she was patient and communicative to us the whole time. 10/10 recommend. read more

On Sunday, 4/21/13, at 10:30am, I met two friends for breakfast at the Mimi's Cafe in Murfreesboro, TN. We were promptly seated, however, there's where things quickly went downhill. It was a good 15 minutes before the server arrived and took our drink order, after a wait of another 10 minutes our cups of coffee were delivered to the table, we placed our order and it took nearly 30 minutes to get our food. The server even stopped by the table to ask if we wanted a snack while we waited. We noticed that others who had been seated after us finished their meals and paid during our long wait time. The food arrived, and since Mimi's Cafe is a premium restaurant one would 'assume' that the food would be premium as well. The bacon was chewy, not crisp, and not hot, the eggs were overcooked, the pancakes stuck together and fell apart when you tried to add butter and syrup. Apparently the server must have asked the manager, Jason, to stop by the table since none of us were thrilled with the long wait experience or food. I've never in my life been treated so poorly by a manger, he rolled his eyes and had an unengaged condescending look on his face as I asked him about the bacon and slow speed of service. He said "Have a Good Day" and walked away. The server brought us a box of 6 muffins to take home for an unknown reason. All in all, I would say that the service is very slow, the food is common and precooked and the price is simply too high for the quality of service and food. read more

We had never been here before and we had a gift certificate so the beau and I gave it a shot on our date night. The place has a cute little set up and we were seated immediately. The waitress was at our table in no time taking our drink orders. She was happy and chipper and awesome! She came back with our drinks and bread. A sourdough type text roll and three slices of a carrot raise loaf bread. OMG I could eat a whole loaf of that! She said you can buy a loaf, and I decided against that, it would not last 20 minutes in my house! Being that we both have never have been to this place we took longer than usual to choose what we wanted. The waitress helped us out big time. She suggested some type of meat alfredo dish for the man and i decided on the chicken crapes. Both DELISH! We both ate, and were full ( not omg i am going to explode full but very satisfied full) our check came to less than $30. Big portions and very tasty! We will definitely return and probably bring the kids next time. read more

I can't even begin to describe the deliciousness of this place. My nephew told us they had awesome muffins, and his birthday was today, so we decided yesterday to go pick up some muffins for him for his breakfast today. So I will preface this review with saying that they have some of the most huge, delicious, blueberry muffins I've ever tasted in my life. Now that the muffins have been addressed, I will begin with the food. We ordered an appetizer of the crab cakes (have to, from Louisiana), and they were delicious. Filled with lump crab without a ton of filler like some crab cakes are, and they were more pan sauteed than fried, so there was not a ton of outer layer of bread on them. Delicious. Hubby ordered the five way grilled cheese, which was awesome. I ordered the Turkey Pesto Ciabatta which had turkey, basil pesto mayo (amazing), avacado, tomato, lettuce, and some kind of white cheese. It was seriously one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had. It was huge, so I could only eat half, but I can't wait to eat the other half. Also got a cup of the cafe corn chowder that is also in the fridge and smelled delightful, but haven't gotten to try it yet. Needless to say, we will be back at this place in a hurry. It is absolutely delicious and their menu has a great deal of other things I want to try! read more

Wonderful place to eat. The omelette was awesome. You have to get a muffin. I had the blueberry and it was super moist and very tasteful.

Super cute place. Was pretty busy but I tell you, well worth the wait. Waitress knew her stuff and was extremely happy and helpful on helping me find something dairy free for lunch. My father had the tomato soup and tuna salad sandwich. He said it was outstanding and states how he wants to go back here. My hubby had the BLT and he said it was very good. I had the salad with a balsamic dressing! Omg the dressing was to die for!!! The turkey sandwich I had was amazing. They decorate you plates with fresh fruit. The melon and orange was outstanding. I would highly recommend Mimi's Cafe!!!! Pricing is great, parking is close...all around GREAT place! read more

I have a $1600 medical bill from the food poisoning I got from Mimi's Cafe. Will never eat here again.

I've been to Mimi's a number of times for dinner...but this was my first time having breakfast there. Normally, I have 2 littles with me. Scratch that. Normally, I drink coffee in my kitchen while wearing pajamas as my 2 littles gobble up cereal or oatmeal. So here I was, a morning without my kids. I was out and about. I was ready to hit up a Starbucks drive thru for a coffee and pastry. Then I snapped out of it! I should sit down and actually enjoy a breakfast that I didn't have to make! After visualizing the restaurants within a 2-mile restaurant, I settled on Mimi's. I was seated in a large booth (hellllooo elbow room!), and was promptly asked by my server what I like to drink. Coffee and a water. I looked over the menu, and just as my decision was made, my server returned with my drinks. I ordered the Potato Cake Eggs Benedict. As I waited, I read a book on my Kindle and sipped my coffee. I glanced over at my server who was now striking up a conversation with a regular customer. She came by my table and topped off my coffee. Soon, my food arrived. It was delicious! (Although, I do like my poached eggs a bit more runnier.) I gobbled it all up! The chef made his rounds just as I shoved the last bite in my mouth. (How do they always manage to drop just as you stuff your mouth?!) I gave him the thumbs up and continued to savor my last bite. My server dropped off the bill, then returned to gather my plate and payment. When she returned with my change, she offered me a coffee in a to-go cup. (I declined.) As I took my leave, I was wished a good day by each employee I passed. Sure beats coffee in pajamas while standing in my kitchen! read more

I'm only giving a 1 star because my Entree of the Chicken a la Orange was very good. However, if I could NOT give any stars, I would do so. My Husband & I were VERY disappointed in the service and how low grade the calamari appetizer was. We found it un-edible. My husband's entree was not good, either. It was the Sole fish. To spend as much money as we did, only to be served a CHEAP grade of fish and calamari blows! On top of our below standard meal, we ordered a Wine Flight to accompany our dinner. When we were 1/2 way thru our meal, the waiter comes over and says it will be a little bit until we get our Wine! Excuse me!?! Ummm, NO! We told him to cancel that wine order as we were finishing up. My husband was so mad about our Dinner that I doubt we will even be back for Breakfast! read more

Great French Food I love French food and there aren't many restaurants that serve it. Crab cake appetizers were very good and the chicken crepes with sauce for the entrée were amazing. They had many things to choose from on their French menu so I will have to make return visits to try them all. The service was great and our waitress explained what was available for happy hour. I had the dry red wine flight. They bring you three different wines to try for five dollars. They were all good and there is nothing better than having different wines available to sample. There weren't small samples either. If you are shopping at The Avenues in Murfreesboro, TN you should take the time to dine here when you are ready for a break. read more

For a shopping mall chain restaurant, the food was surprisingly tasty. I was tempted to dock them a star for our cheesy waiter, but decided to let that go. But seriously, lose the memorized speech -- you know we can hear you repeat the exact same words at every table, right? The soup and sandwich were very good, as was the BLT sandwich. Overall, fast service, fresh food and clean place. read more

- This place is an amazing little restaurant. Great food! We had an amazing server who helped us with every little question we had. Greeted us and made us felt welcome! Our server was Nathan Bennett-Kelly was an amazing guy & was full of personality. Always had a huge smile on his face. He definitely need a huge kudos! Definitely be coming back more often. read more

I don't usually eat at chain restaurants. I was once dragged to a Mimi's in Long Beach & vowed I would never return. However, when in Tennesse, do as the Tennesseans, and my family wanted to eat at Mimi's. We went for a family breakfast, which included NINE children under the age of seven. That is not a typo. NINE kids (none mine) and five adults. When we were all being seated the waitress, who could not have been more than 19, asked if she should take the (steak) knives off the table. Yes? I don't have kids, so I never would have thought of this. It was the first indication that we would receive better than normal Mimi's service. I ordered the Mixed Berry Pain Perdu, which was pretty good, especially considering where I was. I was very impressed with our waitress (Courtney? I think), who kept our orders straight even through some seating changes. She really earned her money that day. Food-3 stars Service-4 stars read more

This is THE best place to go for breakfast all day or a quick lunch. Chloe Loudermilk is one outstanding waitress. I ALWAYS ask for her or wait until she has a table. Since I'm a regular they usually get me right in. It's a great place for a meeting or a planned event as well since they have two areas available for that. Cant say enough about this place or my fav waitress. read more

Wonderful lunch with family! The extensive menu made it hard to choose, but when the decisions were made it was great! Loved the cream cheese stuffed brioche French toast with fresh berries - yum! Chase was an excellent server & food was served timely and with a smile on her face! Highly recommend! read more

The food is pretty good and very well valued; who doesn't like $5 wine?! The service communication however could stand to improve. Sat immediately but I don't think they told the server as it took a phone call, after 30 minutes of no one, to ask for the manager to send a server over, verbal didn't work. Took some time between ordering drinks and bread before it arrived but that could be a kitchen/bar issue. Our server was pleasant after finally being told we were there. You must have the creme brulee cheesecake, that's pretty awesome if I do say so myself. read more

I have been here many times but this past visit was especially good with Maddi as my sever. She greeted me with a beautiful smile and was very attentive with my needs as a customer. Maddi is the best waitress there and will be requesting her to serve me upon my next visit. read more

One of our local "Go-To" places when we want a FANTASTIC breakfast, and occasional lunch or dinner. Morgan was awesome!!! And our food was delicious!!! I had the bacon avocado and potatoes!!! Except I substituted turkey sausage for the bacon omelette. Wife had a quiche Florentine. Thank you for ruining our Birthday. 1 hour and 1/2 to get a cold food... other tables order, not even ours. 40 mins for mimosas. Table next to us had burned pancakes. Table across walked out. Just ate here and the place is disgusting!! Please be ware that there is dingy carpet in the dining area so beware of the mildew smell that will greet you at the door. There appears to be no real attempt to really keep the place eye appealing. I ordered the roasted chicken crepes and they were mediocre at best. I had to ask for bread and it was dry and cold I really do not understand why the place has ANY positive review... Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

This place is fantastic. And gorgeous. In and old French kind of way. The food is absolutely delish. Our family ordered steak and eggs, French toast and poached eggs with Corned beef hash. Every bite was delicious. Good coffee. McKenna, our server was really great. She gives great advise if you can't decide what to order. The muffins are a must. Buttermilk spice is our favorite ! read more

If you don't know the Muffin Man, he doesn't live on Drury Lane afterall, he lives at Mimi's Cafe. Fresh Baked Muffins. Muffins for miles. Absurd varieties of Muffins. We ordered brunch too, but the Muffins were the most memorable. I'm glad I ordered the small version of my breakfast, the Pancake Bananas Foster because even the small version of that and the muffins put me well beyond any recommended caloric intake for the day. I've been to Mimi's for dinner before, though not this one. I'd say that the breakfast is really the time to come. They seem to mostly excel at that meal. Unfortunately as far as the service went, our waiter quickly became taxed by our sizeable party (6) and the increasing breakfast rush, which resulted in an inconsistent experience toward the end of the meal. Overall though, I'd return to Mimi's for breakfast, and a few more muffins. read more

Our server was awful. She got drinks and TOSSED straws on the table....then she asked for our order. No time to look at the menu (we got 2 menu's for 4 people). We ordered a calamari. It was frozen. She came back 3x while we shuffled menu's to figure out WHAT to eat. Food was 40 minutes. Cold. Gross. No drink refills without us asking. Server dropped the bill off, didn't offer dessert. We put our credit card in with the bill.....she took off and we had to run our credit card down to leave. She never came back. This place is awful. read more
