Avoid this place. This was easily the worst service I have ever experienced. The crawfish was mushy, the eggs tasted old, and my friend's crab legs were served dirty. When we showed the food to the manager, she became argumentative and defensive. She actually told me I was 'inconveniencing her and her job' simply because I no longer wanted the food after such poor quality and service. We came out to eat here because we both wanted Cajun, creole food. My other half wanted a shrimp low country boil and I honestly wanted something like a fish and chips and chicken and fries which I ended up ordering both starters as my entrees. For $11.00 for each starter was awesomely priced! The food was delicious. However the sauces were lacking. I wanted tartar sauce but they didn't carry any. I ended up eating the sauce the server brought out but unsure what exactly it was. So if I have any negative comments it would only be lacking of sauces. The decor was fun. For sure. read more

I love seafood! I travel for seafood. I love crab fever when they first got here and I ate it a lot. They have added quite a few things to the menu and some new ways to enjoy the food. First off- this AYCE thing is great for those who want options. This time I went in for that. My photos don't show it but I had 2 rounds of ramen and seafood boil. The portions are slightly smaller for each dish but you can ask them to double or triple or how many you want and they'll bring it out. They have steaks as well and that's on the all you can eat, Which also includes deserts. I was throughly happy with everything I ordered and enjoyed the variety of foods that were being offered. You don't have to do the AYCE and order the food as they have always served it but give it a try and start trying new dishes. Price were great when you think about everything you'll be able to get. Being from Maine, we do miss our lobster rolls! And being our Anniversary today, we decided to head on over for some yummy seafood. They did not disappoint! Lobster rolls were perfect (not all bun or lettuce like some places). I prefer a lighter batter for my fried food and the calamari too, was perfect (not chewy or rubbery). The dipping sauce was a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Hubby had the Cajun fries and he enjoyed the spice (he thinks maybe Old Bay). Our waitress was Itzel and she rocked it! Very attentive! Only real complaint was that our Garlic butter mild spice was non-existent - we should have gotten medium. Seafood was well prepared, crab legs weren't over steamed which made them easy to crack. Deducted a star because when my husband mentioned our very wobbly table, and if anything could be done, the server came back with a piece of cardboard for him to fix himself. Went around noon time, it was empty except for 2 other tables. The owner was so kind, she worked the floor, service the table and the front entrance. It's beautiful on the inside, nautical. How have I not reviewed this place yet? Crab Fever is located at Stone Rivers Mall next to Chuck e Cheese. Parking can be a little challenging, but really you can just park anywhere at the mall and just walk there. I have been here multiple times since it's been open and also since it has changed ownership. The food is great here! We personally love the calamari, fries, and the seafood. Service was fine and the mango slushy with mango beads was to die for. I ordered one of the combos that was about $79 in total. First the good. The two pieces of corn were the best part of the meal. The crawfish were okay, the three sausage pieces were cold and seemed like store bought kielbasa versus true Cajun sausage. The shrimp were pretty good. Now the crab legs the priciest part of the meal were beyond awful and I eat a lot of seafood. It was grossly overcooked and the legs were so small, half of them went to waste. The garlic butter sauce. Was watery and way under seasoned. Now the kicker, as I was paying, my bill manager asked me how my meal was. I asked him if he wanted the politically correct answer or the truth, in which he stated he wanted the truth I mentioned to my concerns, especially regarding the crab legs which are very pricey he intern shared with me that I was a fourth person to complain that night, and he had a new cook and they were over cooking the legs, but he would inform the owners. I wasn't looking for a free meal, maybe 10% off at the very least to compensate for the horrible crab legs Was charged full price even after the manager admitted they were overcooked and I was the fourth person to complain this past Friday night. He thanked me for spending my money there and I told him I hope he enjoyed it because it was the last time I'd be going back. I would never spend another dime in that place. I didn't even mention my wife's Cajun chicken pasta which she left 80% of behind . I tasted it and I'm a big pasta fan and it was god awful. It seems for the sauce they used Ragu and tried to dump some Cajun seasonings in it instead of actually making a Cajun sauce and it was absolutely disgusting folks that have never had fresh seafood might find this place enjoyable but being from Miami and having some of the freshest seafood ever this place was a complete disappointment And the only reason really for the two stars is cause there were a few elements of the boil that were decent like I said the corn and our server was really sweet and took the time to explain the drinks to me. read more

The guy that seated us never spoke. Once we were seated and looked over the drink menu we were told they weren't serving alcohol due to new management. We stayed and ordered calamari as an app. It was not cooked well. About 5 minutes in we ordered our dinner, both getting pasta but different types. About 10 minutes after that our waitress informs us that they made our pastas completely wrong and were redoing them. After about 13 more minutes, we left without eating. We won't be back. read more

Changing my review based on a visit I had today. Service was slow and poor. I didn't get everything I ordered, and didn't bother to tell the waitresses about it, because I didn't want to confuse her anymore than she already seemed to be. There were cobwebs on the table light they should probably tend to. The drinks were pretty gross... and to my surprise, they charged an extra 15% LBD tax I've never seen on a bill before. Granted it's a thing, buttttttt.... to pay an extra $5.00 for two drinks we already didn't like, was pretty gut wrenching. On the other hand... our actual meals were DELICIOUS. Me and my friend went for lunch one day. It wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is huge. I enjoyed their playlist too. It went from The Weeknd, to old Drake, to Michael Jackson. I've been to the location in Midtown before but this was my first time trying the Murfreesboro location. We ordered the fried oysters appetizer. I do not recommend it at all. It was nothing but breading and the breading wasn't even good. They look huge because there is so much breading. I could barely taste the actual oyster. We got the lobster roll as well. It was decent although I've had better. It was pretty small so I wouldn't recommend just relying on the lobster roll for your meal. We also ordered combo 2 which comes with snow crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. We chose fever signature mix in spicy. Fever signature mix is good. However, spicy isn't spicy. It's a mild heat in my opinion. Everything was cooked to perfection - not over or under cooked. Before the boil came out, the server brought a tray to our table. I didn't realize what it was for but I put it to the side because I didn't care to use it and looking at it was so unappealing. It had stains on it and looked gross. The server came with our boil and poured the boil in the tray. I didn't say anything. I just sucked it up and didn't think about the stains while I ate the seafood. At the Midtown location, they pour the boil on the table so I thought that's what she was going to do. Anyway, they should consider getting new trays or using ones that don't have stains on them... I would return for the seafood boil but I will more than likely get to go or ask for a tray that looks clean - now that I know what the tray was for. read more

I went down to Murfreesboro to visit one of the first friends I made when I moved to Tennessee. We used to eat out for lunch all the time but as life happens, people move around and change jobs. The last time I visited, we visited Red Crab Juicy Seafood off of NW Broad. These Cajun Crab boil places are popping up all over the place. I've previously dubbed them the "Chinese Buffets" of the 21st century, as they were everywhere back in the day but are now as rare as a dodo. Seems the Cajun Crab boils have taken their place. So I've been to several of these places and their DNA is the same. A plastic bag, choice of seafood, and a sauce. I ignore all other items on the menu because I'm there for 1 thing, a seafood boil. I don't want fries, sandwiches, tacos, or other entrees. I was especially hungry but at the last minute, I got the Boil Specialty Combo #2 (Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp, Corn on the Cob, Potatoes, Sausages) with Fever Signature Mix (Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter). The snow crab was actually very good. Of course you're dousing it in the sauce mix but it hit the spot. Brine-y, buttery, garlic-y, sour, with a slight amount of heat from the Cajun spices. The shrimp was also good but I should have gotten them de-veined and headless. People say crab legs take too much work but I disagree. I think taking apart whole shrimp is worse. Anyway, Crab Fever is one of the better Cajun seafood boils restaurants I've been too. I give them the edge over Red Crab Juicy Seafood only because when I went there, I had an issue with my food. If you like seafood, give them a shot. read more

We arrived and no one acknowledged us for 5 minutes. Then we were seated and ur server came up to our table and ordered drinks, but then did not return for 15 minutes and said "oh am I your server"? Then we finally ordered and she got our order wrong. We did not realize until the check came because all of the combos are essentially filled with the same thing minus 1 or 2 things. We ordered combo B and were given combo D which is a $20 price difference. Our server became very defensive and did not do anything besides argue with us when we brought up the issue. Orders B and D are basically the same thing except B comes with crawfish, so when we were not given crawfish we figured it was just a mistake and did not think much of it. Come to find out this was a $20 mistake. The concept of the restaurant is nice, but it is not good enough to deal with all of the issues we encountered. read more

3.5 stars. Our first experience, we ordered take out for my son's birthday and it was delicious. Even after the 20 minute drive home. However, our dine in experience, not so much. We arrived around 6 pm on a Saturday evening, expecting a wait, surprised to see how empty it was. Not typical for these types of establishment. Then we figured out really why. We ordered calamari and Cajun fries for our starters, good start, came out fairly fast and both were good. That's when it all when down hill. For our entrees, my son ordered 2 lbs of fresh crawfish and I had combo #1. The sauce was not as I remembered; salty actually. And the seafood was mushy. My son had a few bad crawfish in his batch that just left a bad lingering taste in his pith. Crab legs were small and overly cooked. It might've all been sitting there because our food took awhile to come out. Our server was attentive at first but she went missing after our appetizers. Hence, our mushy food maybe. Even slower to get us our check out. Maybe it's best if we just order take out? It'll be awhile before I return. read more

This place is under new ownership and it is a mess. Nothing is consistent anymore, they don't have half of their menu and they don't have alcohol anymore but they still hand out the old menus? Seems more and more "seafood in a bag" places are popping up in Tennessee...and that is a good thing! I am a huge seafood fan and have dined at several of these places. When I stopped in at the recently opened Crab Fever in Murfreesboro I was warmly greeted and shown to a table. This spot has a beer & wine menu and my server Javadas brought me a cold Yuengling and a glass of water. The menu gives you the option to select a standard offering of various seafoods, or you can build your own. I decided to build my own with 1/2 lb of shrimp - tail on and 1/2 lb of snow crab legs. Selected the garlic butter and mild spice as I wanted to enjoy the flavors. Normally I opt for Cajun with medium spice...and Javadas highly recommended the Fever Mix which is all four flavors combined. One thing that sets this place apart from other similar restaurants...they offer shrimp three different ways with just the tail, tail & body, or the whole shrimp including head. So if cleaning your shrimp for consumption is annoying, you can get the shrimp with just the tail on. Overall the portions were good with about 15 (ish) shrimp and a nice size cluster of snow crab legs. One thing is for sure...the Garlic Butter flavor will satisfy any cravings you have for garlic and kill any Vampires for miles...LOL The flavor was very good and mild as expected. The shrimp were a good size and perfectly cooked and easily popped out of their tails. The Snow Crab was good and was very fresh based on the way I easily extracted the meat from the legs. The sides left a bit to be desired as the corn was a bit mushy and the potatoes slightly under-cooked. My server Javadas took great care of me and it was fun chatting with him after the meal. It was definitely above average. We walked in from the mall side door, and was greeted and seated right away. I liked the decor of this place. The bar is really nice and there is also a stage. It looks as if it is a karaoke stage. I started off with the raw oysters and a cocktail. I really liked the light up flashing ice cubes they used under the raw oysters. It made it look so fancy. I also liked the flashing ice cube in my cocktail, as well. It made it look very fancy. Food wise- we started off with the oysters. We tried the gulf oysters and their only option was raw. It wasn't bad. It didn't quite have that "fresh" taste, though. They have 2 options for their seafood to be served: either in a boil bag, or on a tray. We chose in a bag. For my bag, I did the medium spice level and it was perfect for me. The other bag was the spicy level, and you could really taste the spice. I did the fever signature mix for my sauce and I thought they had a really good flavor. I felt that the seafood was cooked to perfection. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. With the crab legs and clams, I could really taste the sauce. However, with my head on shrimp, after I peeled it, the shrimps didn't have much of a flavor. I found this very odd since shell on shrimps absorb seasoning very well. It was ok, though. It wasn't bad. Service wise- it was good. We were seated and greeted right when we walked in, and our server did a great job. She didn't fail to come check on us and I felt that everyone here was pretty friendly. read more

We heard about this AYCE inside of Crab Fever and wanted to give it a try. When we first walked in we had to ask about the AYCE menu. Apparently it is a separate menu. The food looks totally different than what is advertised. The portions are small (one or two bites). It is almost like samples. And they bring it out sloooowly. A tactic to get you full faster. Our server was great however maybe the owner(?) kept asking us are we sure we will finish our because they will have to charge us if there were leftovers - ok understandable. But we finished it all! We stacked up the empty dishes laid flat on top of each other and the owner came by and inspected each plate twice. She wanted to charge us for the grilled steak that we asked for medium rare and it was so overcooked that it hurt my teeth. She said it got cooked bc we took too long to eat it? I didn't know we had hot plates on the table. She stated our bill would be 300.00 if we did not finish. I would not recommend this place. Will not be coming back. read more

We are in town for a soccer tourney. As a family that loves seafood, we were excited to find this great restaurant. The atmosphere was great with live music on a Friday night. We got the number 3 combo and everyone was satisfied. We had our choice of spice and degree of hotness. We chose mild Cajun and it was perfect. We also added some fried calamari and fries. I've been here many times over the years since they've opened. I never once had a bad experience but today I came in and it seemed off. The menus were new with new items and restructured seafood combo selection which made up wonder if management changed. We got the lemon pepper wings to start and combo C to share. The wings had a strange smell but tasted okay. The seafood was noticeably different. We ordered spicy but it barely even tasted like anything at all. Obviously being in TN, we don't expect to have fresh out of the water seafood but this was the first time the quality was bad, very obviously frozen for a while. The portions also felt smaller than usual. We always have leftovers to take home but we didn't have any this time.
