I was part of a large group and the service was excellent. We had separate checks and our server gave us each personalized, efficient, and friendly service. With a buffet, it can seem hectic but the server stayed well on top of our drinks and there were no complaints. The buffet was continuously restocked and all the foods were at the desired temperature, the "hots" were hot, and the "colds" were cold. If buffets are your thing this one has a great variety of items and spice levels. There is more than enough opportunity to find a dish you like. This is one of the nicest Asian buffets I've attended. There is a large sushi area with a great deal of choices which included various rolls, some deep fried, and some with raw tuna, salmon, and cooked shrimp. I pretty much filled up on sushi. near that area there was cold squid and peal your own shrimp. After finishing my sushi I went to the "hot food" area that had "the usual" dishes but had a bit more seafood than usual. There was also a hibachi area that I didn't use, a fruit bar with various melons, grapes, pineapple, oranges. Also, there was a salad bar, and a dessert bar. I was seated and a server checked to see if I was doing ok, which I was. This will be my choice for asian buffet when I'm in this area. I ate lunch which cost $12.99. This place is really great. The food is awesome, its clean and the people working here are awesome. I cant believe it is so reasonable. I dont usually eat Sushi, but they have some great food here and it is delicious. I often avoid raw tuna, but they do it perfectly here. The hibachi grill was excellent as well. They cooked my steak pieces perfectly. The rice is moist and fluffy, I could eat the chicken every day, and every odd little thing I tried was on point, even the fried bananas and sweet buns. Overall, pretty good Chinese buffet food. Service was great, quick and never left us needing drinks or our plates taken away. They have a good variety of options along with all the typical Chinese food (general tso, sesame chicken, crab rangoons...). They also have sushi and seafood and soups and a Hibachi Station. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The food was okay, the hot things should've been hotter and some of the dishes lacked flavor. It's been years since I have gone to a buffet that wasn't at the Caesars Palace in Vegas but this local buffet in the boro was really good. The food was hot and fresh the whole time we were there (Sunday lunch). We showed up about 2 hours after opening and had a short wait but was very pleased at the selection and the quality. The hot foods and habachi grill was the best. The sushi is ok but the rice used seem a little mooshy. The food selection was nice, it had a little bit of everything- no crab legs though if that's what you're looking for. The prices did go up based on all past posting so be aware it's about $19 person on the weekends and that's the all day price so not lunch or dinner prices. Our server was awesome as she kept our table cleared and our drinks filled. This is a large restaurant and very accommodating to large parties as we had a group in front of us for 10+. The foods was ok, I think out of all the buffet I tried in Nashville and the near by area, this is the best you can get. Today food was a bit cold, there not a lot of seafood options. The food bars can get pretty messy and unorganized. The price is varies base on lunch or dinner and weekday or weekend. I had dinner at Yoki Buffet on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 4:30 pm. I came at 4 pm expecting it to be less busy than usual because it was between lunch and dinner peak times. However, there was still a decent wait time for a party of 7. For $17.95 per person at an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet, the value is pretty good for the variety of food options they offer. They have made-to-order hibachi grill, sushi, lots of seafood, and of course the "picky American" station that serves pizza, Mac and cheese, and French fries. I can see why Yoki's is a popular place for large families because I think it's economical. As far as quality goes, I think you get what you pay for. Yoki sacrifices food quality for quantity as many food options look average or subpar. To make your money worth, I'd recommend stuffing yourself with lots of seafood such as the crawfish, crabs, mixed seafood boil, and shrimps. The sushi looks exactly what you would expect at a sushi buffet - averagely rolled and not as fresh. The raw oysters were a hit and miss; I've had oysters that were passable and I've had some bad oysters that were quite smelly. Service was good. I think they do a good job clearing the empty plates frequently enough given how busy they were. I think Yoki could improve on their cleanliness since I noticed the uncovered back room where they refill drinks and deposit dirty dishes had a trash bin full of trash. It looked disorganized and just simply dirty. I don't even want to know what goes on in the back kitchen. Overall, would I come here for some decent food? Definitely not. My family and I sat down for 30 minutes, the noisy Chinese waitress was extremely quick to bring us our check without even asking for it. I flat out just love the variety and it's always fresh bc it's so busy. The coconut shrimp on the weekends is by far the best I've ever had. I am a regular here & enjoy it every time. The sprite also hits different if you know what I mean. That good strong kick & full of flavor. For the price versus what your options are is alright. I mean if you super hungry and are going ot get a lot of plates then it would be beneficial for you but if your only going ot get a plate or two then its not worth the price. I saw a number of five star reviews of Yoki Buffet so my youngest son and I went here to check it out. It is better that Chef Wangs and cleaner (at least in appearance). The food was good too. They had a ton of options to choose from. And even a Mongolian style BBQ option where you pick what you want (Meat, veg, etc.) and they cook it for you. If you're into Chinese buffets, you'll love this place, if not, then it's kinda the same old thing and you might want to choose a different option. The "new Chef Wangs" in the Boro is actually very, very good. Having been a long-time Chef Wangs aficionado, I must admit the last time I passed through down Broad St, I was disappointed to see it had been closed. However, with the new tenants comes a (slightly) revamped restaurant, still slingin the greatest hits, but with more passion and MUCH more flavor! Still a typical "Chinese-food" style, all-you-can-eat buffet, but with the addition of sushi and hibachi offerings, as well as (albeit more expensive) seafood bars on the weekends, Yoki is one of the best in MidTN. I got the wife's seal of approval, who to her credit has admitted multiple times that she does not like Chinese buffets (shameful, really). Having been to probably 5-6 in the area, this is the only one she's said she not only really enjoyed, but wouldn't be opposed to going to again. That's a win in my book! The major problem with many a buffet, is that all the various entrees served tend to begin to taste the same. This is not so with Yoki, as you could tell, at least when we were there, that the individual dishes were fresh, prepared appropriately, seasoned correctly, and had distinct flavors throughout each and every one. The seafood was plentiful, and the sides were excellent. The only thing the wife said she did not care for was the hibachi. Said it was bland and flavorless, though with as many options as there was on the regular buffet, I'm not sure why you'd want to wait for hibachi anyway! Other than the rather expensive price of $14 per person on the weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, food, and service and will most certainly return! Don't knock it until you try it. This place is actually good for a buffet. It's the best tasting Chinese buffet in the area and I can say that with confidence. The plates are stored inside a shelf of the food counters, which is kinda odd. I was so confused walking around looking for plates at first. The food is rotated out frequently and the prices are reasonable. As for seafood, they have raw oysters, fried oysters, crawfish, fried blue crab, clams, fried shrimp with the head on, and a few more items. No crab legs, unfortunately. And don't even think about trying raw oysters. They are frozen and unappetizing. No amount of lemon will help with the taste. Everything else is enjoyable tho! Decided to try out Yoki Buffet hoping the new ownership would dramatically improve the food, service, and cleanliness of the place. They have been open a couple of weeks now and we arrived for a late lunch and the place was packed. We were provided a number and didn't have to wait too long for a table. The first thing I scoped out was the cleanliness of the wait stations, kitchen, and the overall buffet. Everything looked great and they had a couple of folks going around restocking the trays and cleaning up around the buffet. Buffet: They have most everything you would look for on a Chinese buffet along with some American fare like chicken tenders and Mac & Cheese. Hibachi Bar: You select the ingredients and they will cook it to order. Sushi Bar: I'm not a sushi fan, but they had a lot of pre-made sushi offerings Sadly...the food was rather dull and insipid. While everything looked to be well prepared, there was little to no flavor to many dishes that you normally expect some flavor and spice. Buffet regulars like chicken on a stick, broccoli chicken, peppered chicken, sautéed mushrooms, and beef pepper steak did not come through with any of the expected flavors you anticipate in these dishes. For me...the most flavorful item I had was some sliced Kielbasa and the sugar donuts. On the Hibachi Bar selected Teriyaki sauce and it was bland, hence the overall meal from the grill was weak.
