Custom bowl with Lio's Head Meatballs and a Pineapple Bun
    Julia K.

Milu is located inside the Brookfield Palace food court and offers a eclectic menu of bowls and salads inspired by regional Chinese flavors. You can choose curated dishes or make your own. Highly recommend to opt for the duck fat rice as base for a custom bowl as it adds delicious complexity to humble rice, and if you like runny eggs like I do go for the extra! The pork & fennel dumplings are also a true standout of flavor. And the service is impeccable, with online orders being ready right on time, and they go above and beyond if some items are sold out.

They have own bowl in here. Tofu coleslaw was so good with spicy yunnan beef I really like them so next time 2 side for this

Spicy Yunnan beef and charred broccoli and tofu coleslaw. Such a good combination! Their spicy sauce is spicy if choose good side you are going to smile what ordered Tofu coleslaw I recommend...never eat tofu coleslaw may be someone don't like but for me it was so good... costumer service is always good even clouded they are nice to people ...

Pretty good Chinese place that just opened up in Brookfield Place! Got to try out their signature rice bowls and the first one I tried was the soy roasted chicken bowl and they give a lot of chicken. Portions are a lot. Couldn't really finish it and what caught my eye was the salted egg yolk fries that was the bomb! Those got me really hooked! I didn't even need the sauce to go with the fries. Fries were pretty good on its own. The chicken bowl included a sauce that reminded me of my homemade sauce, the ginger scallion sauce! That's my favorite sauce and I was amazed that they carry that sauce. They got Hong Kong milk tea that is priced a decent rate so going to try that next time. I saw the pineapple buns and they are made differently than your local Chinese bakery but they look very cute though!

This modern Chinese spot is a winner--delicious food, amazing service, and a photo-worthy view! The service is so quick and the staff are wonderful. If you're in a group, you're surrounded by other good options too, but the menu at Milu has something for everyone. The chili crisp chicken is my fave! Crispy, a little spicy, and addictive with the yogurt sauce. It comes with rice and greens so you don't have to feel guilty afterwards! The ginger-scallion steamed fish and marinated chicken are also delicious and healthy options. Delicious food, great vibes, and top notch service. Highly recommend!

The amount of salmon was a joke! They must've given me the leftover scraps. Extremely dissatisfied and something I can make much better myself. The pork wontons were good, but will not be going back here. My friend had the chili crisp chicken bowl and said it wasn't great either.

The salmon portion is so tiny, it's comical. The dish was also pretty bland. Def not worth $18.

The quinoa taco salad has always been me and my partners go to! It is simply delicious and hits the spot every single time! The matcha lemonade was of course perfect as was the butternut Mac n cheese. The spot is tiny but it's well worth the wait for a seat, I mean it's busy for a reason am I right!? It's so bright and airy inside and there is also seating outside on the sidewalk. Super comfy and cute overlooking the cute west village streets. The staff is incredible and patient and willing to help and give recommendations when needed. They all are super warm and friendly. So good. For my "second visit" (aka my takeout order five minutes later), I swapped the coconut rice for the cold quinoa and bean salad -- also delicious. The second bowl had fewer mushrooms, but they weren't the headliner for me anyway. The true stars? The black beans, pickled onions, and that dreamy butternut cashew cheese. I would like to formally thank whoever invented that combination. But the real reason I'll keep coming back to this restaurant anytime I am anywhere near this neighborhood? The Matcha Latte. I had it iced with my meal -- so good even the melted ice tasted fancy. Then I had it hot with a Chunk Chocolate Cookie which is dangerously delicious but that hot matcha was rich, smooth, and absolutely scrumptious. I even went online afterward to hunt for the Matcha recipe in her cookbooks (turns out there's a lot of matcha desserts, which may or may not be a problem for future me). Bottom line: I will absolutely be back -- probably "just for a matcha"... and somehow leave with a cookie again.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.
