a nice sushi joint on Nassau street in the fidi area. Came here for a pick up order and got a spicy tuna roll & and eel & avacado black rice roll. Prices were decent as it's in a pricier area of the city, the sushi was great though (10 pieces per roll). Minimal seating area!

Love the decor and interior inside the restaurant. Very comfortable vibes. Service was great. Very informative and hands on. Food was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed my entire meals and was comfortable while I was eating. I was able to charge my phone, music was playing throughout the restaurant. Cool vibes

Wonderful friendly staff. Very helpful and attentive. Indoor seating available. Huge selection of on hand sushi making. Freshly made right in front of u. Delicious vegetable dumpling and sushi rolls. Very clean

Definitely a cute little gem here in FiDi. Got the chashu ramen combined with the salmon and avocado roll. The ramen came with a good amount of pork and same with the salmon roll. However beware of the Add-ons. It's an extra $1 for salmon avocado, miso soup, etc so it adds up VERY quickly. Meal with two add-one came out to $35 (without a drink) so be mindful of what you order! Otherwise, friendly staff and good quality food.

We ordered the 4-roll box that included four sushi rolls and a choice of salad. We went with the spicy tuna, eel & avocado, yellowtail, and salmon & avocado rolls, along with the mixed greens. The sushi was decent for the location & offered a decent option to choose from. The rolls were quite filling, and the salad was fresh. I did find the price a bit steep for the portion & quality which was about $31 for everything. I'm not sure if I would come back personally, but if you're looking for a quick sushi option for dining in or takeout, this could be a convenient spot.

Not bad for fast food sushi. I ordered the box of four with a seaweed salad. Nice presentation. A bit pricey as most choices require an upgrade. The rainbow roll was my favorite. Quick and tasty but not the best sushi I've ever had. Very casual atmosphere. Service was at the counter. Again...basically fast food.

(Overall: 60% | D) - I ordered four maki rolls as a combo to go and was disappointed at the results. The pricing of this box was equivalent to that of DomoDomo, but the quality cannot even be compared. The food is either on the unflavored side in the case of the california roll and edamame that desperately needs salt or completely drowned like the case of that spicy tuna roll or eel roll. Overall, I think the chefs need to reconceptualize how to plate and flavor these items because it currently doesn't work. IG: @amei.eats

Sushi was filling and the prices were reasonable!!! Staff was so nice and friendly. I kept pasting the restaurant.

Extremely disappointing sushi. The rice is cold. Fish are not fresh. Even the avocado had brown specks and not fresh. Do not recommend.

Went here for lunch the other day. There was a long wait but it was worth the wait & price (less than $25). For everything purposed, I wasn't even hungry when I left work. It was all tasty and you got a lot for what you paid. Don't go if you're starving and can't wait...

Lunch today was Salmon and Avocado Roll. Ten pieces. After an appointment in the downtown area I wanted something to eat that was on the softer side and not too large a portion. Ten rolls don't fit into the "tiny" portion but sushi somehow is quite easy to eat without feeling like a stuffed turkey. The price was also reasonable at $10.54. I sat at a table to enjoy the sushi. Two customers were sitting and eating and a few people came to pick up their orders. The interior is compact, clean and had pretty lanterns that makes it feel serene. No restrooms here. Service was attentive.

Came here for lunch with a few friends. Came with the idea that we'd sit down and eat together, but the location definitely is limited in it's real estate, with just a handful of tables and chairs, and even then it's a little bit tight. Ordering is generally pretty easy but don't make the same mistake I did and ask for no receipt, that's the only way you'll know what your order number is when they call it! Food is pretty good, especially for a place that I would consider closer to a take out place. Value is really where this place shines though. Their lunch specials are a pretty good deal and give you a good variety with generous portion sizes. I went with their lunch bento box, and was plenty satisfied. I do wish there was a little more variety to choose from sushi roll wise, but they still have a good selection. Definitely also want to come back when it's cooler and try their hot food options to see how those might stack up as well

BEEF Bowl
Stephanie T.

I ordered the beef bowl and it took a while for my order to be ready. However when I opened it, I saw why. The presentation was thoughtful carried out. The food was good, pretty filling for a lunch. I paid $18 so it is on the pricier side. I wish they had more sushi specials (around $15). I plan on coming back once in a while when I feel like splurging.

I've been to the Ichiran in East Williamsburg but found this location to be more hectic and touristy, naturally. You order on a tablet, pay (no tip), and then are directed to a seat by a welcoming host. Poor guy must have to repeat the same spiel a billion times a day. I just defaulted to Ichiran's suggested levels for everything which made it fast and easy. Once you're at your assigned cubbyhole, you can hang your coat up on the wall behind you and fill up your water cup at the machine also behind you. You don't even see the face of the person who brings out the ramen which gives the whole process a mysterious bank teller vibe. With all this, the classic tonkotsu ramen ($23) with slender noodles nearly gets overshadowed, but don't fret since it's fantastic. I believe when you're done, you just get up and leave. Surprisingly, one of the instructional posters does not go into this.

I came in with a party of 2 on a Thursday at 1pm. There was a line but the line went by quick. When you walk into the restaurant, you pre-order at the touchscreen to the right of the entrance and later when you're seated you give the order receipts to the server at your window. The food at this location is obviously going to be pricier than it is in Japan (came out to around $60 for 2 people), but it is SO worth it as you can't get Ichiran anywhere else besides in Japan.

I've had them before so I knew what to expect but it was way too salty, less flavorful. Had a very nice flavor, the salt overpowered it though. I tasted mushroom. Couldn't decipher distinctly from other top notch ramen so it wasn't knock your socks off. From now on I'll order the base dish when I go places so I can judge better. The gyoza was cooked very nicely, came sizzling and the bun with meat was a little ugly, it looked boiled and unappetizing. The taste was just okay. The topping on it was notable. The waitress didn't help us at all when ordering. We weren't bowled over with the food, although it was noted the meat in the ramen was high level. It hit the spot but I will try other places in the search for our "return forever" ramen place.

For a restaurant, especially one serving customizable ramen dishes, with a allergy list post on the wall by the counter where I sat at B1, a little flexibility or empathy toward food allergies would go a long way. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others. There are so many good ramen places in NYC, this Chinese Ramen place has lot of room to improve.

First of all, I LOVE the ambience and the paper lantern decor here. Took me right back to those neon streets. The staff are polite and patient; one of them even picked up my phone for me after I dropped it mid-meal. During my trip, I was converted to a soba-lover, and while I don't think this is true soba here, they have "abura soba", what they describe as a "soupless ramen" (with a thicker noodle) which I was drawn to. I got the basic one with chashu, and my, it was DELICIOUS! I was so entranced I caught myself wanting to slightly bow with an "Arigatougozaimasu" and a "Gochisousama desu" on the way out!
