The past two times that I needed my smog check, I came to this location based on the yelp reviews. The guy there did not talk a lot, but he was efficient and knows what he is doing. The first time there I went in the morning on my day off, so I was in and out real quick. I had my document with me. He did all the checks for my vehicle. He charged me 40 bucks and I was on my way. It was an easy experience. Needless to say, I was a fan. This second time was similar. I came by after work, and it was during lunch time (After 12pm). There was a line of 3-4 people ahead of me. I did not have anything pressing to do afterwards, so I was prepared to wait. He got to me in 30 minutes and was out the door in 40-45 mins in total! I think that was a pretty quick service considering there was a small line. While I was waiting for my car to pass smog, I got nervous. For whatever reason, my mind thought that there would be a chance that I will not pass smog. My car is getting older and is racking more miles. I read the poster on the wall that there was a free retest if you don't pass, as long as your vehicle is newer than 1996. It gave me a piece of mind that if my car did not pass smog, I would not have to fork out another 40 bucks for the test. They also electronically transfer your results to the DMV, you don't have to worry about taking it to the dreaded DMV line. You can just pay for your registration online! So easy! Every time I've been here, there's never a wait (Saturday or Sunday afternoon). The worker/owner is Vietnamese and is really nice. My car failed the first time because I recently changed the battery, so the OBD2 scanner wasn't working properly. He told me to do a drive cycle (had to Google it) and come back for a free re-test. No appointment necessary, and the price was $45.00 with the automatic $15.00 discount listed on their website. Google instructed me to turn might at Mikulakis, but this is incorrect - go past the intersection and turn into the very first driveway, at the corner. Drive past the Precision Care Auto Tune and you'll see the sign for this smog check station at the last set of roll-up doors. The lobby area is sparse but it gets the job done - you'll probably be here less than 20 minutes. When I got here the technician was finishing up with another customer. He was testing my car in less than five minutes, and was done within fifteen minutes. The test results get sent automatically to the DMV, so all I had to do afterwards was pay for my registration online. I was told that it takes 24 hours to process the results, but I don't anticipate this would be an issue for anyone as long as you make sure to get your smog check done at least a week or two before the deadline. First off, they are a "Star Station" if your registration says you need that. I was charged $40 total for my 2011 BMW 328 and that included the $8 for the certificate.
