I found them by yelp, convenience location so I gave them a try. I called ahead to check if they were opened, see how busy they were , and get a price. Everything seemed OK, little wait and reasonable price, so I went. I arrived, they told me to wait a bit so I did. When it's my turn, they wanted more MONEY and I told them I called prior to coming and price was now higher? and I believe it's the owner told me go ahead and leave unless I pay the higher price. I still did it just to save myself time from finding another place but nothing more. Next time around, I will just go somewhere else. Who knows what they will do next time. read more

Flagged my car my first smog check. Told my mom he could fail her smog test but said he chose not to. Very unaccommodating.

I called a few places in the area and this was the easiest and closest place I could get to at the time. The lady have me a quote over the phone but when I showed up, they gave me a different price! So I kindly reminded them of what they quoted me over the phone and the lady said "oh ok". The whole process took less than 10 mins and I didn't even leave my car! I WILL never go back to this place for smog check ever again! I highly encourage customer to do the same. Tech working in there have no customer service and doesn't know what their doing. My experience today was having to deal with the lady who I believed not even the certified Tech telling another co-worker what to do. I decided to give this place a call because they mailed me a coupon for $15 off their smog check. I made a call to them and a guy answered the phone who seemed to know what he was talking about. I said I had a BMW such and such. He quote me a price. I said I had his grand opening mailer coupon for $15 off and he said, sorry we don't take that. He said he already quoted me the lowest price. I explained that he mailed me this coupon and it did not expire according to the coupon. He insisted he would not accept it. I could tell his price was reasonable which was not necessarily more or less than other smog places. I was just upset he would not honor his coupon. I mentioned that I would call back later in the week to get my car in as I would have more time. During my second call, I said I wanted to make an appointment to come in as his price was still mid range and the location was close to my house. I gave him the make and model of my car and then he said he cannot test my car. That got me more upset as I said I just called in a few days ago and they said they could smog my car. Revised Post: Review based on employees working on 7-28-17 - I took my 87 Volkswagen Golf to get a smog check and informed the tech that it takes some finesse getting into first gear. The tech did not listen to my advice and instead forced the car into 1st gear. What ended up happening was that he put the car into 3rd gear and attempted to proceed with the rolling test. Well he stalled 6 times and almost ran my car off the rollers. In the end the other tech told me they could not complete the smog and told me to go across the street to 76. I do not recommend this place if you have car with standard transmission as the tech is incompetent and disregards advice from car owner. read more

This was the only place opened in the late afternoon on a Saturday!!! So if you're like me and don't have time during the weekdays/likes to sleep in on the weekends, this place is probably your safest bet. I called ahead to confirm that there will be a discount so the total ended up being around $50. After I hung up I drove right over and my smog check was done within 15-20 minutes. I was the only person there so it was very quick! It's located right next to the Shell gas station so make sure you don't over look it! This is a STAR station. It is part of the Shell gas station. You can just drive there without making an appointment. I waited for about 5 minutes for them to finish the car in front of me. Then it took them less than 10 minutes to do the smog check on my car. The total cost was $60 (smog test + certificate) . The whole process was smooth, quick and easy. read more

Dishonest Took the car for a Smog check, price agreed was $50, on return in about 10 minutes the technician said he needs to charge me another $30 for a fuse. I told I have not authorized and he did not check with me, then he came down to $20 for the fuse, handed what he thought I would not know was not a fuse. I asked for the car back and if the smog was done, he went to his station and fiddled around and came back. DECEITFUL. I went to get my 1999 Plymouth Voyager smog checked at Happy Smog Check in Milpitas. I am not happy. I had one of their "$15 OFF" coupons as shown on Yelp. I very carefully asked the price of their smog check for my van before I showed the coupon. I was told $55 for a total - including certificate. So let me do the math: $55 minus $15 = $40. I then waited for 25 minutes while he took care of two other patrons before me. He then went and got my car -- seeing the $15 off certificate sitting on the passenger seat. He then got my paperwork and told me: "The smog check is $75, and I'll give you $20 off that price. BETTER than with your coupon". But of course he had quoted me $55 as the price without the coupon. I wish you could have seen his demeanor and face as he did this. He looked guilty as hell -- knowing he was reneging on his price and cheating me. As my father always told me (to quote Maverick): "I'd not trust this guy as far as I could throw him". I would not recommend patronizing this operation -- too untrustworthy. I wasted 25 minutes on his deceit. Happy Ending - elsewhere. A smog check on Minnis Circle in Milpitas gave me a complete smog check for $40 -- without my needing to even bargain. This was my worst experience with a smog check!!!!! I have gotten it done here before and it was a different man, who was polite and a good technician. But now it's a different man and he is racist, impolite, and has no skill for this job. So far all the people that I know and have gone there recently have said he is racist and sometimes even charges more because your not Vietnamese!!!! Went here said he could do my smog for a title transfer. Then coukd not because he said my Catalyst converter he needed a part number for i didn't have it on me went home to get it. Then he told me didn't look like it went with the car even though he just eyeballed it. When i brought the invoice back from a muffler shop with the part number on it he told me he would not pass me. He would not even look at the paper work. Told me to go to the 76 station. I told catali the 76 station would not do it because my car was lowered. I think it was because he was to busy texting who ever. It was a waste of my time. He was rude and helpful at all. I would not recommended this shop to anyone. I've gone to get my tires rotated and I get helped right away rather than having to wait too long. Now I'm just getting a smog test and I got helped right away just upon getting here.
