I love this local hardware store. It reminds me of what Ace Hardware was 10-20 years ago before their exodus to the suburbs. No frills, well-curated selection of essential items with staff who actually have the time and competency to be really helpful. Prices are perhaps 15% over Home Depot but it's well worth it for the service and convienence. They have a tool shop on site and even popped off a busted nipple for me free of charge before leading me to a replacement. Good on you! read more

This is hands-down the best hardware store I've been to, and it's always my first stop when I have a home project that requires tools or supplies. You get old-school, extremely attentive customer service here that is really unlike any other shopping experience I've had in Spokane. Most times when I come in, I'm greeted at the door by multiple staff, one of whom will immediately ask me what I'm looking for and show me where to go. On my most recent stop-in, I had a pretty long shopping list, and the store clerk literally stayed with me for probably 20+ minutes to help me locate every item I needed and advise me on the best products for the job. And because I've become so accustomed to this level of service, it didn't even occur to me how unique this was until I was leaving. The store is easy to miss as you drive by and looks unremarkable, if not even a bit run-down, from the outside. But don't be fooled--this should definitely be your go-to hardware store if you're on the South Hill. read more

they define old fashioned customer service. Typically I will go in to Miller's looking for a nut or bolt and one of their employees will walk me right to the spot, discuss options and give me advice. And this might all be for a $.08 cent screw. If you want a company that cares, go to Miller's. read more

Not like it used to be. At one point you could walk in and find almost everything you need in this small store. Not so anymore, it seems like all the staff that was there 5+ years has left. The store is no longer a one stop shop for sprinkler system parts. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I was having a more then stressful day last Saturday, and needed a copy of a car door key made. After driving from ace on the hill to lowes, and multiple calls to different locksmiths I was starting to think it wasn't going to happen. At the very least, not in time. I was on a deadline. I called millers, and the gentleman I spoke to was very kind and said to bring the key in and he will do his best. Just depends on the condition of the broken key. I brought it in and he said it'd be better off going to the dealer, but just as I was about to leave he told me to let him try working on it. And to call back in an hour. Hour later, and they did it! I went up and ever had second key made for a different car. I was very happy the the service. I definitely recommend them. Even if they couldn't make a good copy of the key, I would still have left happy, by the fact that they tried in stead of just sending me away. People helping people. They have my respect, a will have my future business. read more

I was beyond pleased with the excellent assistance and service I received in buying products for our new home both times I have went there. My first job was at Miller Hardware. I was hired quickly and quickly was given responsibilities such as cashiering, cash management, opening/closing..etc. I worked there for 5 months without any issues. However the manager, Debbie is not a good leader or manager. She consistently breaks her own rules as well as the stores. Nothing is consistent, including the staff. People are fired without notice, cause or general warnings. Debbie has a very short temper and does not listen to advice, or concerns about the store. This review is only discussing the working at Millers. The employees are great, service as well, however strict return policies, arrogant leaders, and hazardous work environment pull this place down. Asbestos in the walls, rats, a near disastrous roof due to water leakage simply make working at Miller more of a hazard and terrible experience more than a learning experience. I can not recommend the store itself enough, however working there is perhaps the worst starting job a young man like myself, can have. read more

Apparently when you get nails on your first trip there's great customer service if you get done anything else they won't guarantee their workmanship or the parts. Always get a quote on paper my quote was for $15 Ace Hardware quoted me 15 to $17 I walked out the door from Millers costing me $30 nothing new nothing changed. Just higher price. Oh and I got a super duper n "have a fabulous day" from the cashier a little inappropriate might want to take it down a notch to just say thank you or goodbye. read more

I love this place! It has the old-fashioned service ethic and the staff are knowledgeable. You walk in and someone greets you, asks you what you need and, if you need help, someone comes to meet you in that department immediately. I walk out in five minutes or less with what I need, as opposed to wandering the big box hardware stores for 15 minutes or more. I go out of my way to do business with them. read more

Great store! Local to South Hillians and sells all varieties of nuts, bolt, gizmos and gadgets at or below bigbox store prices! Given that South Hill stores (Including Ace's Hardware) have a tendency to ripoff everyone wherever they can, this place is a godsend! read more
