I don't know how, but this little store has everything. It never ceases to amaze me. They are more expensive than the big stores but I really appreciate the convenience and the fact that they are always so helpful. I have also appreciated the rental center as we've had to use that a time or two. Obviously, there are times when price is a concern so I will shop where the price is better. This hardware store has always been over priced but I've looked past that because of its proximity to my house and the quality of service. However, the last several times I have been there an old guy with a pot belly has been nothing but a condescending asshole. Often derailing my questions and fixating on the most inconsequential details. Not sure who died and made him king but he acts like he knows everything yet his advice is often misguided. Please do better. And if this is the owner, let me know so I can never return. Who wants to support small businesses if this is how customers are treated. Wow. This is a never have I ever instance... i want to support my local businesses, don't even mind paying a lot more. I came in to buy paint and asked a simple question about quality. The morbidly obese older man who begrudgingly assisted me, was a condescending asshold. He interrupted and talked over me. Seemed to enjoy mansplaining that he felt my basic questions about quality, were stupid. I have been painting my 5 rental properties for years. I know paint. I simply wanted to shop local and give them some business. Why he has a chip on his shoulder, or is just an asshole, is not mine to figure out. I mean this guy is a complete jerk. I have been going there all my life , I like supporting the little stores. I will never be back after today, now if you don't spend five dollars or more they won't sell you an item when they sell miscellaneous bolts and washers must have cash. When the pandemic started the some of the employees were of the opinion that it was being hyped up by the press as a political stunt. This mirrored the talking points of right wing media. I stopped shopping there after the mask mandate when I would come in and some employees were either wearing a mask around their neck or with their nose sticking out. After I was vaccinated I returned and everyone was wearing a mask properly. Now that there isn't a requirement for vaccinated people to wear a mask those same employees are unmasked. I am distrustful of people who put their politics in front of their customers safety. I would need some kind of verifiable evidence that these same folks who thought that COVID-19 was a hoax are vaccinated. I love shopping local but I will not shop at a business that presents a careless attitude about their customers safety. read more

You know when you go into Home Depot and some teenage employee walks up to you and asks if they can help you find something, you tell them what your looking for and your words are met with the blank stare of someone who knows nothing... Well that won't happen here. I'm picky about my hardware stores and this place is great. All the of employees are really nice, they know what they have and often how to accomplish a project that you might be stumped on. Some places like ACE make you walk a maze of crappy impulse buy products before checking out, they don't do that here which I love. Also a lot of the rental machines are a good value. read more

River Ridge is my local hardware store. I love browsing the aisles and finding random treasures. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer tool rental and will even repair your window screens. I found replacement vent covers for the same price as Amazon and I didn't have to wait a couple days for shipping because I bought it in that minute. read more

They still surprise me. Everytime I've gone in, they always have what I need and they know where it's at. They're pleasant, helpful and they know what their talking about. I love this little store and have used them since they were on the far west end of wellesley, However I was VERY disappointed that they had masks for sale and yet only one customer service employee was wearing one. Very small store with extreme difficulty maintaining social distancing guidelines and not following recommended guidleines. I am missing half a lung from the war in Afghanistan and my son is very susceptible to anything we may bring home, so I need to be very careful for his sake. tl;dr: GO HERE! PRICES ARE COMPETITIVE, THEY CARRY PRODUCTS OTHERS DON'T, AND THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SUUUPER FRIENDLY!!! River Ridge Hardware is hands down my favorite hardware/garden store EVER (I've used at least a dozen stores for similar products in just the last 6 months). I've been house-flipping for 4-5 months now for a backyard weddinf, and this locally-owned store has gone above & beyond to take my projects from "good" to "great"! First and foremost, their staff is easily the best around. These people KNOW. THEIR. STUFF. And they're the nicest people everrrr. I must have shopped here 5-10 times some weeks, and felt I'd made new "friends" who genuinely cared about how my projects were going (so much that I occasionally took pictures & videos just to share updates with them). I've never "looked forward to" going to the hardware store until now! On the strictly product-related end of things, River Ridge Hardware carries a ton of unique, "project-hacking" products I've never seen at Ace, Wal-Mart or elsewhere (but seriously wish I would have known about 5+ years ago). Many of these products made my painting projects cheaper (by use of less products), faster, cleaner, and waaay easier. And their colorful flower pots & adirondack chairs really gave the yard the pop of color it needed for a surprisingly low price. But more importantly, a shout out to a few awesome staff members who made my day regularly, and are the real reason I won't ever go anywhere else: Larry, the owner, is a Spokane native & apparently was a loyal customer since childhood, long before taking over the place. This guy truly cares about serving his customers in whatever capacity he can, no exceptions. I love that he's an active owner, working the store/register & building a personal relationship with his customers, just like his staff...that's becoming all too rare these days. Dodi, in the garden center, is the sweetest lady, and sooooo helpful. She'll bend over backwards for you and is legitimately interested in learning about both your project(s), and you as a person (if you're socially-inclined, like myself). I always look forward to seeing her there! Conner (Nursery Manager) is also uh-maaazing; he earned his college degree in this field, and also owns USS Farms, so he's an incredible source of knowledge for anyone not-so-gifted in the horticulture dept., and was always more than happy to educate me. This dude is awesome on all levels of you're lucky enough to catch him there! On my painting & staining projects, my go-to guy was Emmett, from whom I gained invaluable tips, tricks, and product recommendations. This is nearly always my first stop. If I need large lumber or drywall, Lowe's in my choice as this store can't stock that stuff. But if I'm fixing something, ANYTHING, I go here. Screws/bolts/nuts/washers/etc., they have every hardware piece you may need. Do they have 40 different designer faucets in 7 different finishes? Thankfully, no. They have a couple choices. This is a repair and project hardware store. The absolute best knowledge base lives here. Nobody has a "department". They all know enough to get you going on anything. Some have more wisdom in one area than others, just like everybody. Service, product availability, problem solving. These are the three biggest reasons I support them. But wait, there's more! They have a huge equipment rental center. Need a garbage pump? Yup. Post hole auger? No problem. Small tractor and backhoe? Load er up! Great stuff with great prices. read more

A good local hardware store with extremely helpful employees. But, some of their prices are way out there. I just purchased 3 bags of Safer Brand Lawn Restorer fertilizer. A bag is 25 pounds for $44.99 for each. Total bill was $141.99 including tax and with my $5.00 off card. But, at ACE Hardware I just checked. A 25 pound bag of the same fertilizer is only $29.99 a bag. River Ridge Hardware has one heck of a markup. So, my recommendation to all is that you check other stores first, even if you have drive a little. Don't over pay, go elsewhere. read more

So, stopped by the store today, because I have always wanted to after driving by it. First time in, and I am just perusing the store, and then all of a sudden two green metal plates land on the floor right beside me. In associate named Tim, was apparently fixing things on the top shelf of the next aisle, and pushed these items over, not knowing. He never even stopped what he was doing, and I don't know how he was unaware because the noise was loud. I then tried three times, to let him know that he almost hit me, seriously, and he never even acknowledged me. A woman came around the corner and just said some items had fell. And then I heard her tell him that he almost hit a customer. No one else said a word to me! I feel like someone should have made sure this was a safer situation than it actually was, AND OR checked on me. Very worried to go back in. I guess I will wear a hardhat next time. read more

One of the most helpful hardware stores around. You can't get 10 feet into the door without a friendly greeting and assistance with what you need. I've seen the same people working there for 10+ years, which means they not only treat their customers right, but their employees as well. The "big box" stores may undercut their prices from time to time, but I would rather support this hometown, neighborhood hardware store any day. There have been times I haven't been able to find what I need at Lowes or Home Depot, but River Ridge will have it right on their shelf! They are always willing to take the time to answer any questions or find a solution to your problem, even if it is a 50 cent part. Walking home from Finch Elementary, there was nowhere else to stop and satisfy my sweet tooth than this friendly neighborhood hardware store. Amazing amount of hardware, tools, candy, frames, etc packed into such a small building. I really think you could wander around Lowe's all day and not find what you are looking for, while River Ridge's friendly staff will help you in an expedient and extraordinarily alacritous way! First off this store is awesome! If you have a project or odds and end piece chances are they have it. I would say it is roughly 1 in 10 trips they will not have what I need and I need to visit the big box stores. The staffs knowledge of the store products and tools are second to none. The prices may be $0.50 to a $1 more than said big boxes but the gas you save driving cross town and the service is well worth it. they also supply equipment rentals for big and small projects worked well when I had to snake a drain. I would of given a 5 star rating if every time I went there they had exactly what I needed. But they still get a grade of an A instead of an A+.
