I've added an extra star to my one star rating because the staff is wonderful. Customers are greeted with a smile and the staff is very helpful in answering questions and providing service. The actual one star rating is based on my purchase of several mini eclairs that were only about 3" by 1" in size. I paid $1.25 each and given the small size, I immediately felt the price was on the high side, but I figured it would be well worth it since this bakery has been in business since 1947. Unfortunately, these mini eclairs were dry and left a faint taste of salt on my pallet vs. the expected chocolate or cream flavor which should be predominant. This was also the same opinion my three friends expressed after eating these mini eclairs. Personally, I'm really disappointed. This is a great little neighborhood bakery in the heart of Cliffside Park. Though I knew it was here since moving to the area, I really "discovered" it during Hurricane Sandy. Miller's bakery was one of the few places in the area with power and, hence, coffee! The pumped the stuff out just as fast as they could, much to the delight of the neighborhood patrons. They did this with a smile. I've since purchased breads and cakes from Millers. What you will discover about Miller's is the dedication to old-time customer service. I bought an Easter cake here and they were great about taking my order in advance. When I arrived early Easter afternoon, the cake was waiting for me. I am like a kid in a candy shop when I visit Millers Bakery. They make so many luscious baked treats! Their apple strudel is sublime and the black and white cookies are the best I've ever had! I give their pre packed cookie boxes as gifts when I am on the run. I love their bread which I get freshly cut. It would be easy to go on but you should go see for yourself. Everything is artificial. The only fresh items are the bread if you can get it in time. They use a lot of factory based methods such as artificial food colorings and cornstarch and low-grade strawberries that grow mold on them. Which is dangerous for the customers to consume. The staff are high schoolers that are rude and are not welcoming. Just don't waste your time or a dime. read more

My favorite bakery in the area. I have tried their napoleon's, canoli's, carrot cakes, cup cakes, etc, and have not been disappointed. Their tiramisu is just right, but frustrating on weeks when they are selling it as a whole cake, instead of in slices. The Albanian lady behind the register is always polite with customers. Teenagers sometimes get a raw deal on reviews, but the one's that work at Millers always act mature. My only complaint is their rolls. I enjoy using them for sandwiches, but they are considerably smaller than a regular sandwich roll and don't stay fresh longer than a day. read more

I came in after seeing their fondant cakes because I was interested in ordering a custom one for my husband's birthday. I decided to inquire if they could make one based on images from 2 pictures that I would bring in & I described them with the idea to come back later because I didn't have the pictures on me at the time. I asked if they could make one on the smaller size & used one of their examples on display to give an idea of how big I'd want the cake. The lady stared at me and dismissively says, "We START at a couple hundred dollars." No confirmation on anything else I asked. What - think that I'm broke or something? Is it cause I'm a millennial & not the neighborhood's typical demographic? Was my request "below" your bakery? Why not just tell me that you don't make them that small? (Meanwhile, their samples on display CLEARLY showed cakes that were the size that I was asking about.) I thanked her & walked out. I am one very disappointed, unsatisfied customer! I purchased a chocolate cake last night from Miller's which looked very tasty on the outside. The cakes looked so amazing that I was even asking how to inquire to place an order for my daughter's baptism cake. When I opened the box at home, the cake had a weird aroma to it and I then proceeded to cut a piece of cake. As I placed the piece of cake on the plate, I noticed green and white MOLDING ALL OVER THE CAKE! The cake smell was worse once cut open, like it's been spoiled for weeks! I went today to speak to the owner of my experience but couldn't get in what I wanted to say. Although I appreciate the apology and my full refund... as an owner or someone who represents the business, I would expect more like a guarantee freshness on their pastries or at least a discount on my next purchase to show that they appreciate their customers and would not like to lose any cliental, but that wasn't the case. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BAKERY FOR FRESHNESS AT ALL! I am so grateful I caught the molding before I gave any of the cake to my little nieces. Very disappointed and will not be coming back! read more

Disappointed. Bought a strawberry cheesecake for a coworker's birthday and was horribly embarrassed by how bad it was. It LOOKED okay, but the consistency was tougher and drier than a block of cream cheese. Seriously, it was tough cutting the cake even with a steak knife. Far from melting in your mouth, each bite kind of just "sat" there, heavily, and didn't taste very good. Maybe it was a days-old cheesecake, but I don't think so because I called that morning to order one and they said they needed time to make it. Regardless of whether it was a stale cake or a plain bad one for $21.50) I expected better. Costco has a better cheesecake for less than half the price. I had read positive reviews here on yelp about the bakery and went out of my way to order the cake from there, but I guess maybe cheesecake isn't their strong point. Also this is a minor gripe, but I was "helped" by two middle-aged ladies who weren't in a hurry at all and seemed kind of out of it. There are better bakeries in the area; I won't be back. read more

I have been coming here for many years and so has my family and friends I have ordered the Cake for my baby shower recently and the lady that took an order and the deposit two weeks prior had called me a few days before the baby shower and had told me I have to come in my 5 to pay for the rest of the cake or they won't make it I'm a dentist in New York so I rushed to go back to New Jersey to pay for the cake because she said if I don't pay they won't make it I had to be by the end of the day when I came to the bakery it was already closed at 4 pm and it says they close at 6 the lady didn't even wait but left much earlier I asked the police guy across the street and he said she leaves as she pleases so next day I came in early to pay she was very rude and nasty . The cake looked nice on the outside when I got it on the inside however it tasted burnt all the decorations kept falling apart and the cake it self wasn't eaten cause the guests said it tasted funny and no one wanted to eat it it was disgusting . I will never go back there and told everyone I know that there's plenty of good places around that they can go to this place shouldn't get any business if u want good cakes or pastries go elsewhere the lady in charge is rude and nasty to the customers so deff a no for me and everyone I know read more

Great Bakery! Their strawberry short cake is fantastic! They use the best strawberries available, the fresh whipped cream is heavenily!
