Bowling here is still good but the food was the issue when we went here about a month ago. Service was slow, poor girl had to be the cashier for bowling, server for the food and everything in between. They were definitely shorthanded. Food took a long time to get and three out of the four pizzas we ordered was supposed to be on cauliflower crust but I think only one was. The pizzas did taste good even though it wasn't accurate. One of our burgers never showed up either which was a bummer. Server did tell us they were still working on it, but it never came out. When we asked if we could just take it to go, they said they didn't even start on it yet. Pretty disappointing. The stars are for the bowling alley only. read more

The bowling alley looks decent. The atmosphere is nice, with a cute little bar in the back. The food? Not so much. Both times I've had their baby back ribs they have been dry. Lots of bark, lots of bone, and what little meat was on them seemed desiccated and over salted. I know that ribs are not the cheapest food out there; but $23.99 for a half rack of inedible ribs is a bit much. Only 2 stars because the potato salad is epic. Myself and 5 coworkers came in to eat. The brisket was dryer than Mt st.helens ash. My burger was cold looked like it sat under a heat lamp for an hour. What an absolute gem of a place! We were camping for the weekend at Ike Kinswa State Park which is just about 10 miles west of Mill Town Smokehouse. Our first night of camping we always pick up dinner so we don't have to cook after setting up our site. We chose to get pizza and Smokehouse had good reviews for their pizzas. We arrived to find that the Smokehouse also has a generous bar area and a bowling alley inside. Walking in I could see from the other patrons orders that the nachos and BBQ are popular menu items. The workers here are very friendly and the place is inviting! We picked up our 2 pizzas and a BBQ chicken quesadilla to go and headed back to our site. Upon opening the pizza boxes I couldn't help but notice the crust of the pizza took me back to my childhood birthday party's at Chuck-E-Cheese! It's flat, floury, and most likely frozen before baking! It was a bit of a let down honestly but the toppings that accompanied the lackluster crust was what really saved our meal! I'm not bashing this place cause our meal was very tasty but if they took a little effort to get a better crust or even a wood fired oven with those toppings then the pizzas here would be worth traveling for! The BBQ chicken quesadilla was very good and nothing to criticize there. We will definitely go back next year when we do our annual trip there but will probably be ordering the nachos or BBQ unless something changes with the pizza crust. read more

An absolute hidden gem! Ambiance is beautiful, modern, and cozy! The servers were super friendly with us and went above and beyond! The food on top of that was great! We thought we'd give this place a try. From looking at their FB pics we were expecting much more than we got. We called ahead reservations for 2 of the 10 oz steak specials. We got there 5 minutes early and got the only table (2 tables in the bar only). About 5 minutes passed and the server took our order. When it arrived we were disappointed. The steak was ok but for the price we paid the baked potato should've come with more than just butter and the roasted corn off the cob was cold. After finishing we got our bill and were shocked at the $65.00. All we got were our 2 dinners, 1 mixed drink and a pepsi. We've never paid that much for so little. We decided as we left that this place may be nice inside but definitely a 1 and done. We will not return. The cost is not justified. read more

We went to Mill Town Lanes for my daughters 18th birthday to bowl. It was really fun for her and her friend. The people there are terrific! When the lady found out it was her birthday she brought a big delicious cookie with a happy birthday thing on it that was lit up and a bowl of ice cream. Wow. What a gem in a small town. The food was AMAZING. My Dad and I both ordered the brisket sandwiches, which were delicious and tender, perfectly cooked. If you're indecisive when picking a side, GET THE BEANS. Best baked beans I've ever had. Mill Town Smokehouse was recommended to us from some people in Packwood. We were on our way home to Olympia from eastern Washington. Hungry and not much available open. So, we drove on to Morton to the Mill Town Smokehouse. We were not quite sure about this, as it is a restaurant/bowling alley. The building and grounds are new and beautiful! State of the art bowling alley and a nice bright, clean dining area. The food was AMAZING and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. My friend and I shared the three smoked meat option. The server offered to bring us all four meats to try. So we ordered four meats, that came with two sides and rolls. We ordered an extra side. So, tasty coleslaw with apple, homemade baked bean and roasted potatoes. We ate our fill and each took home a take out box full of meat. We each got three more meals from the leftovers! The brisket was lean and moist, chicken breast, pulled pork and pork ribs also moist and all lightly seasoned. Three BBQ sauces offered on the side. The meat was so flavorful, no BBQ sauce was needed. So much food for $45 total! My husband had some of the leftovers and now wants to visit this wonderful restaurant and take friends with us. Such delicious drinks. We had high hopes. Such terrible execution of the food. The house margarita was excellent. The spiked blueberry lemonade as well. The ribs were dry. The pork tacos had giant chunks of pork which made it very difficult to eat without the taco falling apart. The nachos had cheap convenience store cheese and literal giant chucks of pork. We were driving from Mount Rainer to Astoria and looking for somewhere good to stop and eat dinner. My daughter found the Mill Town Smokehouse, it turned out to be a great experience. We stopped had fantastic food, an we were made to feel welcome. The service was great. We live in a small town in WV with only about 2,500 people, and we found the staff and the people who were bowling, eating and listening to the band performance, welcoming, and interesting. The facility is well maintained, and very nice, you have lots of options from the outside dining area, to different seating spots in the bowling alley. We enjoyed watching the bowlers as we ate, and listened to the live band that was playing. Our server was very attentive and helpful, providing excellent service. Bobby the owner was very friendly and wanted to ensure everyone, locals, and new acquaintances were having a good time. Pretty high priced, but that's typical given supply. I'm giving 4 instead of 3 stars (showing some grace) as they are newly opened and working out kinks with staff. I loved my chicken/bacon pizza, but my friends ordered the same pizza last week and it was limp and undercooked. Husband wasn't overly impressed with burger. It was ridiculous that he had to say no to pulled pork and other toppings while ordering. Just offer a cheeseburger and give add options instead of vice versa. He said tater tots were greasy and undercooked and he'd have preferred fries. We didn't try other menu items, but our neighbors love their other food (bbq items) and they are a pleasant addition to this small town.. This is the nicest bowling alley i have ever been to. They went above and beyond to accommodate everyone. We were a party of 15 so...no easy task. I can speak for the whole gang. First, I want to say I was so excited for this! I was excited to have a nice place in town with some fun food and brews. But a complete disappointment. Let me explain. The setup is a little weird, especially the bar area. No big. The menu is small and there are only 12 lanes for bowling. Okay, I can deal with that. My husband and I went with two friends to see this new place. They have a nice seating area outdoors completely redone very nicely with a fire pit, pergola, and some yard games (some that were already breaking) but not too much to do. We go inside and and sit at one of the tables above the alley. We're chatting and looking over the menu. I get some beers at the bars so let me start here. The "bartender" was so frantic and uneasy....and it was literally only me ordering a draft beer and a bushe can. She didn't know how to open a tab (she told me she didn't know how to do it, so each time, my card had to be ran- you lose points there and the establishment will loose more business and money). It was very uneasy watching her and I felt so bad she was so nervous. We decide to bowl and were told to go to a lane (note- we were there a total time between 4pm and 730pm) and I noticed there are kids EVERYWHERE. Like two birthday parties going on, and everything. I expected it to be not so ChuckyCheese and be more adult grown up. Blah. We ordered food (nachos with pulled pork, and two pizzas, the Hawaiian and Deluxe). We notice that ALL (with the exception of ONE waitress and the barista) are all under the age of 18. And all carbon copies of the same meh looking blonde curly haired girl from your local high school with toooo much makeup on. There were 7 or 8 of them working when we went and they obviously don't know anything about customer service....between their attitudes, and no service, explains enough. See, the thing is when all your "waitresses" are under 18, they can't handle or bring you any alcohol. And you know what that means? You have to walk to the bar each time...for every beer or every pitcher. And yep, the barista has to run your card each time too. Anywho, they brought the food out and it was...okay. Just bowling alley food. Crappy food if found somewhere else. Everything out of a can or bag. One of the pizzas was barley done. Just meh. Wasn't expecting gourmet, but damn, at least try. The pulled pork was really just okay. I really wanted to like this food, I just didn't. Especially because their motto is "bowl, brews, and food" or whatever....all the beer they have is a draft bud light or Coors (that's it! Nothing you can't find at the gas station!) and their food, a bit lower than mediocre. Bowling was the best part about it...until you realize how the lanes are set up and the couches corresponding to them, it doesn't make any sense. First, the couches they chose for this place are TERRIBLE. There is a reason why all bowling alleys have those hard plastic chairs- they're durable. These guys chose very cheap ikea fake pleather two to three seater couches for each lane and in between them a cheap fake wood table. If your one has more than two people bowling, well one or two people have to continuously stand. And it awkward being seating across from another couple that you don't even know. It was just facepalm after facepalm with this place. Because of the many reasons above I will not be bake but especially because of the terrible service. No check ins, no "can I get you anything's (I had to go up to the main table next to the kitchen three times and ask for napkins and silverware), just awful. The girls weren't even busy, they were just standing their on their phones! That's what happens when you hire all 15 year olds. Disappointed! read more
