Perfect balance of meat and fat and perfectly crispy and yummy bbq sauce. $8 Brisket sandwich. 2 this could have been a 5 star had there been bbq sauce on it. It was forgotten. I'd have asked for some but after the food was dropped off no one from the kitchen or bbq place was seen again. $18 Pork ribs. 1 . I had such high hopes for this. In the pics they look so good. But for $26 I expected more than 5 small ribs. The sides. The Mac n cheese was pretty good. I'd give it a solid 3 . The waffle rides were also fresh and crispy with a bit of smoke flavor. 5 Service. Also going with 1 . I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. But it would have been nice for someone to just be out front to answer questions. Give me some extra sauce etc. I did wait st the podium for about 5 minutes before poking my head into the kitchen so I could place my Order. I didn't want to do the same for sauce. 5 stars for the meat!! Fantastic quality, handled with respect. I can't say what we liked most. The brisket was tender, well seasoned, and delicious. The beef ribs were meaty! The pork ribs were meaty too - just love that St. Louis cut. For 13 people, we had 2 racks, 8 beef ribs, and 3 lbs brisket, and it was perfect. The sauce was pretty sweet. I'd like sauce more balanced with heat against that sweetness. I hope they soon have a website with an online menu and enough staff to answer the phone. We eventually got to communicate via text, and that worked OK. Growing pains, I'm sure. It's worth the effort for such wonderful meats! read more

This was some great BBQ we tried tonight! I regret not taking the pictures while we were eating there. The ribs were delicious and had a great pull apart off the bone. Thursdays are $1 wing day so why not try 6 and they were well worth the deal. The pork belly burnt ends were phenomenal and such a great deal for only $10 (they had no chance of lasting long enough to have a picture taken of them). It all had a great smokiness flavor but not overpowering. Located inside Lumber House Brewery that is kid family. The couple that owns and runs the place are absolutely delightful and very friendly. This bbq place is the best and kind of a hidden gem. It's connected to the lumber house brewery, location changed within the building. It's nice they have a view of Mt.Ranier on a clear day. Me and my wife were happy to find this BBQ place attached to Lumber House Brewery. I love their beer and was happy to have a place to get food to go with my beer. After looking at the menu online my wife was looking forward to some burnt ends. Unfortunately, they just were not good. It was almost all fat with no meet. Now, burnt ends usually are a little fatty, but this was just fat. She left with a plate full of fat after eating what meat there was. I gave 'em a try and was equally not having it and I love me some good burnt ends. Even the other couple we were with were pretty floored by the amount of fat. I ordered a brisket sandwich that was ok. It was lacking in meat, so I couldn't really rate the quality of the brisket in the sandwich. While it wasn't bad, I wouldn't be getting it again. All in all we were pretty disappointed in the food. We really wanted to like this place because Black Diamond has limited dining options. At least I was't disappointed in my beer. It is hard to find a legit bbq joint in the south Puget Sound area and it is absolutely a diamond in the rough lol and not just because it's in the city of Black Diamond. If you are a foodie, this is the place for you. Food came out and beautifully displayed. Forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry. They were out of the pork belly burnt ends but the substitution for pork ribs was a pleasant surprise. The rub was one of the best I've tasted. Ribs were intact but was fall off the bone delicious once you bit in. The beef brisket was spot on. Mac and cheese were awesome and we ordered more to go. We added a spicy hot link and some potato salad and we had the perfect balance for our overall meal. The added bonus is that they share the space with Lumber Brewery. Lumberhouse Brewery has been a staple, weekly visit for our family since we discovered them almost 10 years ago. Rolling Smoke has upped the game in an unbelievable way. This is, hands down, our favorite bbq. My daughter won't settle down until we give her a rib or some brisket. Whatever you order, you won't be disappointed! The ribs are SO smokey and sweet, they get me every time. The brisket is tender and savory. The wings are a unique, satisfying departure from the usual buffalo at the local bar. The sides, mac and cheese + potato salad + waffle fries + the baked beans: fantastic. The only disappointment would be if you get too full to try the whole menu. My wife and I were on our way back to Canada, we were avoiding the Seattle traffic which is how we stumbled across this joint, and boy were we surprised. This is definitely a hole in a wall that's not easy to come by unless you know where to look. There is a brewery next door and they share the dining space. Don't expect to be served here as you gotta order and pay up by the counter. I was more than happy since that saves me the tips! We ordered the burnt pork belly end, pork ribs(I asked for them dry) and the beef brisket. Everything was excellent, but the brisket is what really impressed us. We have been to too many joints where they overcook the brisket and it ends up being a slop of dry, shredded meat. Jason's brisket preserved the shape of the meat, and it was very juicy and falls apart as soon as you bite into it. We enjoyed the food thoroughly and could OT recommend this place more. This place is worth making the detour for, because it is THAT good. Will definitely revisit the next time we come stateside again. PS. We didn't order the side dishes as they don't come as meals. Decided to stop in after seeing the signs and after getting 6 packs from the brewery at maple valley farmers market. We got the food to go. First off, the ribs and the pork burnt ends were phenomenal. Ribs had perfect pull off the bone and had a great smoke ring. I like the bbq sauce but wish it was warm. The pork burnt ends had the perfect texture and amazing flavor. Will definitely be back to try the brisket and pulled pork (sold out when we went). The sides were good but nothing special. Not sure if there was miscommunication but didn't get a side of the beans. Will be back to try all things on the menu. Great place, glad it's local. They are the best BBQ place in PNW. I was there at 3pm when they opened and got all the good stuff! Meat is perfectly seasoned and not over salted. Very moist and full of flavor. It's probably one of the best BBQs I've ever had in Washington! We stopped here on our way home from Mt. Rainier and did not regret it. The food was terrific, and the service was very friendly. We ordered the pork belly burnt ends, the sampler platter, and the sampler sandwich; the only thing we were not a huge fan of was the smoked sausage, which was a bit too salty for us.
