Experience was really good! The cashier was patient as we tried to figure out what we wanted and walked us through popular items on the menu and highlighted what did/didn't have caffeine. I landed on one of their specials, the Coco Mango, but substituted the regular boba for crystal boba to try something new. The crystal boba was a nice change. The texture was closer to gummies which I enjoyed. The drink was so refreshing. Tasted like the perfect summer drink. I could definitely see myself sipping it on a beach somewhere.
Milklab has some of the best milk teas we've tried in the NC Triangle area. We've been here multiple times, and here are my thoughts on the drinks we've tried: 1. Purple Taro Latte - Highly-recommended if you enjoy milky snd sweet milk teas. The taro flavor is so rich. Hands down, this is the best taro milk tea we've tried in Triangle NC. 2. Matcha Latte Milk Cap - my girl loves this because the matcha tastes rich and the "milk cap" gives it a creamy, satisfying taste. 3. Thai Tea Milk Cap - This was our first favorite. The "milk cap" makes this more than just an average Thai tea. One of Milklab's best drinks. 4. Dalgona Milk Cap Latte - Rich coffee milk taste. Not bad but I think Milklab's tea drinks are more delicious. 5. Strawberry Matcha Latte - One of my favorites; I'd rank this slightly higher than the Matcha Latte Milk Cap but my girl -who's more of a matcha lover than me- prefers her matcha drinks without strawberry. 6. Brown Sugar Fresh Milk + Boba - Not the best brown sugar tea we've tried, and sometimes, we can barely taste the brown sugar flavor but the barristas here in Cary seem to do a better job getting it just right than the Durham location (not the one inside Southpoint Mall) There are other drinks in Milklab's menu we haven't tried that look delicious. They use quality organic ingredients and fresh milk, and their blends are mostly unique compared to what you can get in a typical milk tea cafe. However, I would not recommend their rolled ice cream. Tried twice, and for $8+, we were not satisfied. It seems that Milklab is more focused on emphasizing the flavors of the rolled ice cream's toppings rather than the ice cream itself, which is nowhere close to Andia's ice cream quality. It also takes longer for them to serve the ice cream. Wish they serve Taiwanese snacks like popcorn chicken or Korean pancakes instead (like how Tea Hill, Quickly & Tiger Sugar do it ). Customer service is usually fast here; you can order using the kiosk or via Milklab's website. I'm not a big fan of Milklab's ambiance (just doesn't look inviting inside and out), with its dull walls and cramped space but this particular location has a nice outdoor area with wooden tables and chairs well-lit at night. Most of the time, we just grab our drinks and devour them in the car. Milklab also has one of the best milk tea containers - higher quality and classier-looking than what most other milk tea cafes use. Despite its flaws, Milklab is still one of the few that made it to my "Best Milk Tea Cafes in the Triangle NC" Collection here on Yelp (https://bit.ly/bestmilkteaNC) because of its various expertly-crafted milk cap teas and high quality ingredients. Overall Score (Cary location only): 4.2/5
Accept that it's busy and there is minimal indoor seating, and it's a five star experience. I'd recommend order ahead. QR code in the pics. Ice cream is slower than tea. Tried on a Saturday. 4 employees on tea, 1 then 2 on ice cream. Waited 15-20 min. Lost track of time coming out in a corner. Not made. Just waited. Got two. Mango slushy. Real mango with jasmine tea. Fantastic. Would order again. Second was a Hong Kong tea- black tea, cream, brown sugar. Serious caffeine. Kept me up late. I'd order again but only get in the morning. Again, tasty. Super fresh tapioca boba. Lots of outdoor seating. Watched 5 groups leave due to the crowds. Kiosk ordering at door or in person at register.
This is by far my favorite boba spot in North Carolina! I love coming to milk lab. I would always get the thai green milk tea it's the best! I've even brought so many of my friends to this place and they all love it! I always put them on to the thai green milk tea. The service here is always amazing with lovely staff. Totally recommend this place for boba.
Pros: Good location with easy parking Friendly service Fun to watch rolled ice cream getting made Pretty interior with good seating Cons: If you don't specify sweetness level for your drink, you will get a very sugary one They put your drink on one side of the counter but will bring you your ice cream. Would be helpful if they brought your entire order to your table A bit on the pricey side Pro tip: Worth a visit if you are in the strip mall, but wouldn't go put of your way to visit. There isn't anything special, plus it is a chain.
The table was very sticky, and there was hair in the cup of my unicorn poop rolled ice cream.
great cozy little boba shop. i've enjoyed their milk teas and all of them have been consistent in taste and quality. this location was great! staff was friendly and greeted us upon arrival.
obsessed with the peachy lychee!! Adam was so sweet with helping me with my drink. Obsessed with Adam- this store is clearly well-managed (I think by him) HIGHLY recommend this location and this drink
Many choices for fresh, organic milk teas and ice cream. Create your own toppings or order off their predetermined menu of concoctions. Service is order at kiosk, online or at the counter. Sterile environment, milk smell upon entering. Chocolate cupcake - yum. Delicious chocolate base.
The bang bang ice cream is what I usually get. The Thai tea isn't too strong, and the boba is quite tasty. I do think I'll pick different toppings next time than teddy grahams and Nilla wafers tho. The milk teas here are pretty fantastic, lives up to its name. My boyfriend's Lychee Berry was good as well, especially at 50% sweetness. Cashier is pretty quick and the space is nicely furnished, just a little tight.
This Milk LAB is in a prime location in Cary. Close to lots of food and shopping, so you can stop by when doing errands. Hubby's taro coconut pudding: 4.2/5 The boba was nice and soft, even when in the cold slush of the drink. The slush was an even, smooth and creamy texture. Surprisingly, not as big of a coconut taste, be did not mind that. My strawberry dalgona latte (requested with no cream cheese milk cap): 4.5/5 A yummy drink! I love anything with strawberries and coffee, so naturally I was drawn to this drink. The perfect ratio of dalgona, milk and strawberries (which were fresh too). The staff was friendly and was happy to customize as needed. The cup packaging is great too! Love the sturdiness and the ability to use a boba straw or you can sip from the lid!
Great rolled ice cream great service good variety overall...5 STARS (It has to be at least 85 characters thats why i put this)
Cute place with a large menu. Had to ask for suggestions as it was my first visit. Strawberry fruit tea was suggested, and it was delicious!
If you want to build up your flab And get so wide you walk like a crab Then get Boba each day I know one down your way In Cary, and it's called Milk Lab The drinks are all smoother than silk And they come from some fine Boba ilk So if you want my juice I'm sorry, I'm not loose For only this Lab gets my Milk Literally one of the best boba places I've been to in a very long time in the Deep South, Cha House notwithstanding. I couldn't really love Milk lab anymore if I tried. I guess the only problem is the Black Tea. See, it doesn't really taste like anything. And I've tried it on a number of occasions. It might be too watered down? Other than that, this place is Boba Perfection - especially by Carolina standards. I love the Brown Sugar Milk Tea but it doesn't taste of tea because of the black tea tasting like water. And of course I loved the strawberry black tea, which again doesn't really taste like strawberry, but is definitely very delicious. Next time I come I think I will try things with Oolong instead. After all, Oolong is what dates usually say when we get back to the hotel room and I get naked. Wait what do you mean they're not requesting tea?!?!? So whether you're Bradley Cooper or Gary And whether divorced, or yet to marry You need Boba in your life More than you need a wife (Or husband), so try Milk Lab in Cary! read more
I usually wearing of chains, but Milk Lab blows my expectations away. The drinks are not only Instagram worthy, but delicious as well. Consider getting some rolled ice cream as well. Lines can be long for it though, as it takes about 5 min to make, and they only have 2 people making ice cream at a time. read more
Came here for a complimentary Yelp elite rolled ice cream. I've had the bubble tea before, which is good and I have always wondered about the ice cream. Rumor has it that rolled ice cream isn't creamy. But thanks to the complimentary cup from Milk Lab, I declare that rumor to be false. The only thing I'd change is that I wouldn't get the cookie dough in the matcha ice cream. But that's my fault. What were you thinking, Angie? But it was still delicious. read more

Great little spot. Very hip and not a lot of sitting area. The staff is friendly and very patient. The milk tea was great! I love that you can tailor how sweet you want your drink. read more
Surprisingly it was not crowded yet on a Friday evening. We were greeted upon entrance. The place is very clean that was the first thing I noticed. There are so many choices and variety of deliciousness . It was too many to chose from and I went with monkey business which has bananas and Nutella. After it was placed in the cups I had to choose toppings. Oh no! I thought I was done! Now I had to choose toppings! I had cookie crumbles and birthday cake teddy grahams. Then I was shown the other options and had that loaded on too!! It was so much and sooooo good!! The staff was very patient as we figured out our choices. The price was very good for the quality and quality! The ice cream was fresh and tasty. There are tables for you to sit outside and enjoy. Parking was a breeze. Can't wait to return to try something else!! read more
Watching the rolled ice cream get made is a fun food experience. This was my first time here as I was fortunate enough to get selected for a Yelp elite event. Prices are around $6.50 per ice cream and this comes with unlimited toppings (as many that will fit in the bowl). There were a ton of different toppings to choose from, including a freshly toasted marshmallow! I love tea, and opted for the brown sugar boba ice cream that was made with black milk tea ice cream. It was a bit too bitter for my liking, but I loved the boba and my husband's chocolate ice cream was very good! The staff was super nice as well! Again, definitely something fun to get to watch the ice cream being made and rolled in front of you and getting to select so many toppings to add. read more

I've been to both the Cary and Durham locations. My favorite is the strawberry matcha. It has real strawberries in it, and the milk used is actually noticeably fresh. Sometimes when I go, the strawberry flavor overwhelms the matcha, depending on who makes it, but it's not often. It can be on the sweeter side as well, but I just dilute it a bit by waiting for the ice to melt. I've also had the Hong Kong milk tea, rose tea, Thai tea and a few others. I've also had their rolled ice cream before. All were really solid, with nothing to complain about. Great place for a refreshing drink! read more
Yikes. $7.00 milk ice tea. That's pricey compared to CA so you better have a great job to support your milk tea cravings out here in Raleigh. Modern store that gets busy. Tea tastes good and milk cap is extra cream cheesy. I don't like ice cream but they also have rolled ice cream if you are in the mood. 4 stars due to price/sticker shock. read more
Our friends took us to the Milk Lab during our visit to North Carolina. We thought a nice cold, sweet treat would be a perfect addition to the fabulous day we were already having. The location was in a small plaza...the signage outside was very plain and simple. Big capital letters: MILK LAB. Once we (barely) squeezed in due to the amount of people inside, we stood in line...a long....long line. My husband was able to leave...get gas, come back and still have a few minutes to spare until our orders were ready. We visited last year in February...so I'm not sure if prices have changed since then, but we paid $6.47 each for the rolled ice cream (I have a picture of the menu board). We had one order of the "Monkey Business", which had Nutella and fresh bananas...and my other son got the Mango Madness which had fresh mangos mashed up in the ice cream. They also have quite an array of choices for milk cap tea, regular milk tea and fruit teas. Fun toppings were also available such as gummy worms, pocky sticks and that sickenly sweet colorful cereal they call Fruity Pebbles :) If and when we visit the area again, we'll definitely make a point to stop in! 4/5 only due to the wait. read more

This is still my favorite bubble tea place I've ever found in the US. This is my last time coming since I moved out of state. This place will be missed! If you love bubble tea, you have to go here! They use freshly brewed tea, no powders, fresh fruits and the boba is always freshly cooked and the perfect texture. Their rolled ice cream is also worth a try! They have some really fun toppings! read more

I'll admit, when I first moved here I was pretentious. I thought North Carolina? There's probably no asian food, milk tea is probably trash, etc etc. My boyfriend took me here to humble me..and it worked! This place has so many options for toppings, the have the cheese foam I love, they even have thai style rolled ice cream! I have been here about 10 times now and have yet to order something I don't like. If I were to recommend one drink, it would be the Chocodalgona! I think it's a new drink since I saw it on a banner around christmas time. It's probably diabetes in a cup with the cookie crumble chocolatey cheese foam goodness but you only live once! LOL 10/10 recommend this place. read more

Came here on the Tuesday where they were having a fundraiser and everything cost $1. Best way to enjoy my first experience at Milk Lab. Line was long, because....$1. I had NO idea what I was ordering but after asking the woman taking my money for her recommendation, I settled with the strawberry matcha milk tea. It was delicious and filling (got the largest size). I added Boba just because (never had it before). I initially made the mistake of using the large straw to drink my drink and ALL I was getting back was the Boba. But once I switched to sipping, I could actually get the liquid. There were fresh strawberries in it. My other choice was the Thai tea, I'd get that next time. My sis got cookie monster ice cream with nutella which was delicious!!! I've never had these teas before (except for a Thai tea at a Thai restaurant), so this was initially very overwhelming, despite having 30 min in line to make up my mind. But there are signs that explain the difference between milk cap tea and milk tea (see the picture for the description). Overall loved coming here and great add to the community read more

I would say this place is more known for their rolled ice cream. Almost everyone that came in while I was there had ordered the ice cream. I went there for their milk tea. When I looked through their menu, I saw they served floats. Since I have never had a milk tea float, I thought I would try it out. Basically it is their Oreo rolled ice cream (4 rolls of it) stacked inside a cup, and then they pour the milk tea into the cup. As far as the taste goes, it was decent. The ice cream and the milk tea did not enhance the other. It felt like two different items sharing a cup, rather than a mixed drink. The pricing ($8.93 after tax) sort of makes sense. You are essentially buying two different things ($4 for ice cream and $4 for a drink). The wait time is long though. The staff was friendly and apologized for the wait, which really makes a difference. If they had not acknowledged that, I would have probably gave less stars. The reason I can see they take so long is because of the rolled ice cream process. They have to chop, mix, and spread the ice cream. There were several ice cream orders ahead of me, so they took awhile before getting to mine. I waited about 10-15 minutes before they called me for my drink. read more

Drinks here are all always great. Love their Taro Latte and Thai Tea and the fruit teas are really good. Tried the rolled ice cream for the first time and it was awesome. Staff is always super nice and helpful. Can get a little busy on the weekend and the wait can be a little long, but overall a great spot for boba and ice cream Check out @raleating on Instagram for recommendations on Triangle food spots! read more
Mmmmm! Had the campfire delight, and it was awesome! It's fun to watch them make the ice cream rolls, and they even took a torch to toast the marshmallow in mine!!! The staff making the ice cream looked like they were having a fun time, and were helpful if you had any questions. I also thought it wasn't a bad price for specialty ice cream considering all you get...the ice cream comes with unlimited topping choices! It's not a huge place, and the counter to order at is very close to the entryway, so there was a line out the door at times. We were lucky when we arrived and only had a few people in front of us on a Saturday evening around 5:30 pm. They also have a lot of tea drinks, we didn't try any...but there were lots of people hanging out in there drinking them. read more
I dropped by Milk Lab as I had $10 to spend from my Offline Raleigh membership. You go inside to order and then wait outdoors (it's covered). I was in a hurry, otherwise I'd have gotten the rolled ice cream. The employee at the register was very nice, patient and helpful as I asked a bunch of questions. Since I didn't need caffeine, I settled with a rose milk cap tea (the frothy, sweet creamy stuff floats at the top) and a strawberry tea. I definitely enjoyed the milk cap tea more, but would get the milk tea next time as the milk would come already mixed in. read more

Yes yes yesssssss. I have been loving me a good boba tea since maybe sophomore year of HS when some friends took me out to Flushing to experience the magic of boba and karaoke (I grew up in NYC). First I love that they're playing it safe in the time of Covid, (thank you!!), their staff was so friendly and their cashier was amaze balls. I had the worst time narrowing down my choices so I got it down to two and let her pick. The Thai green milk tea was the surprise I ended up with and boy was I happy. I added the pudding and passionfruit jelly, flavor combos out of this world. It was a blast to the past and the Lychee rolled ice cream I got was booomb. Again I was faced with a decision when the gentleman asked what I'd like to top my ice cream with and his recos were spot on: fresh fruit and whipped cream. Yum! I like this location and the shopping area it's in has some outdoor tables and chairs which arranged for some great seating. Thank you Milk Lab for keeping me cool on a hot summer day, I'm already plotting my return. read more
I am so obsessed and this is officially going to be my go-to summer drink I would usually pick mango but this time I ordered their lemon lime jasmine tea and it was so refreshing. They supersceed all expectations. By far the best jasmine tea I've had has to be this one. Quality, taste, service, couldn't have asked for anything better. We also tried their Oreo milkshake, not as good as the tea, but good!! Take a quick look at their website to know more about their organic, fresh, superior quality ingredients and social distancing measures. read more

As you can see from the photo, they left some ingredients out of our rainbow Fruit Tea. Id call it more of an an orange peel sour. Watered down and sour taste.... I think they ran out of jasmine tea and just used water instead. We're loyal customers but if they're not careful Milklab will be a victim of their own success and not around long... Will not repeat this location. Hey Milklab, where did all the fruit go? read more
My family loves Milklab. I on the other hand struggle with the inept bags they use. Time and again (at least 8 times) I've had the bags fail with the stupid string that is glued to the bag. I've lost up to five drinks when they were packing 5 in one bag! Today I purchased 7 for the family. And one single bag failed on walking through the garage. Leaking throughout my garage as the cups are hard plastic and shatter. This needs to be fixed! They haven't compensated me for the last two occasions. Be warned read more

Atmosphere: Milk Lab has a clean, aesthetically pleasing interior that's great for pictures! Perfect for hanging out with friends at any time of day. Service: The service is always friendly and prompt! Quick and easy ordering. Food: We ordered their strawberry matcha latte milk tea with mango star jelly and strawberry fruit tea with a jasmine tea base. The strawberry matcha latte is a solid choice - great taste and flavor! The strawberry fruit tea was also one of the better fruit teas we've had. Overall: Though a tiny bit on the pricier side, Milk Lab is definitely one of the best milk tea places in the Triangle Area. We're so glad a new location opened up in Durham as well! We'll definitely be back to try other menu items. read more

Milklab ft. the amount of drinks increasing everytime we came back for more! Shout out to Charlie who was always so cheerful if he still works here! My friends and I lived in NC for a few months last year and in that time we went to Milklab maybe too many but still not enough times. I like to try different fruity drinks to change it up and at most boba places it's usually a miss. But at Milklab, you guys gave me hope they were always gOod!! And the aesthetic was on point--maybe we'll fly down again to satisfy our cravings someday. I also tried the rolled ice cream & combo drink plus rolled ice cream--just don't have all the pics. And in the same plaza you should check out Szechuan Taste for lunch/dinner. We liked to eat there and then treated ourselves to Milklab read more
I decided to bring my husband here after a massage for Father's Day. He didn't know but I am happy that I was able to surprise him. Milk Lab is located inside of a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. The do have parking in front of the location but it looks like some work was being done on that area of the parking lot. Milk lab is black and white which is cool + minimal. They have an extensive menu with teas, ice cream and other goodies! We went straight for the ice cream just because it was our first time but vowed to try something different next time. We ordered the Cookie Monster + campfire. They both were absolutely delicious. Because they were busy the line was very long so the process took a bit longer. We paid about $15 for the ice cream but it's worth it. My husband said that the bathroom was disgusting. He said that it reminded him of a gas station bathroom. So that's the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. Also, they don't really clean off the tables so ice cream from the previous party was still on the table. The staff is very nice + pleasant. I would definitely go back here and I would recommend it. I would also say that they should do a better job at keeping the bathroom clean and the tables wiped off! read more
I came here twice with friends who love boba tea. Both times I was here I got their rolled ice cream because I do not like boba tea. And honestly their ice cream is not good. Nothing to rave about. I mean the rolled ice cream is $7!!! Sure, rolled ice cream is cool to watch but tastes like ice milk, NOT creamy at all. Each time I visited I was hoping that over $7 per cup that this was at least going to be awesome ice cream, that would have made it worth it. But NOPE! Both flavors were VERY disappointing. Did not even finish them...never again. However, it appears the most popular thing is the milk tea, which people love it seems. For me I will not be back and will go to a real ice creamery place if I want ice "cream". read more

I fell in love with Milk Lab's iced jasmine green tea milk cap, which is salted cream milk. You can add boba to the drinks. I added the grass jelly as a topping for my tea drinks instead of the boba. That was not something I'm used to, so it took a while to adjust to its flavor profile and the texture. After the ice melted a bit and the soft salted cream milk blended a creamier texture into the drink, it evened out the strength of the tea. Overall, this is good. I had to come back for their other famous matcha milk cap tea! The rolled-up ice cream is so good! We tried the Kimochi vanilla based with matcha flavor, and the Campfire Delight. What is cool about Milk Lab is that you can get all the toppings you want in your rolled-up ice cream! I do hope that in the near future, Milk Lab offers lychee to their toppings list. A punch card would be great for the returning customers. read more

Decided to try this after eating at Szechuan taste. Wanted to see what the hype was about. The store itself is very basic, sterile and generic. Tables were packed in & made for a pretty tight space to move around especially if it's busy plus you have to pick up your ice cream orders towards the back. Strangely, tea pick up is in the front. Got the milk cap rose oolong tea. Also ordered the milk cap jasmine green tea, Mango Madness rolled ice cream and the Monkey Madness, a Nutella Banana rolled ice cream. The teas were very pricey. It was over $5 for a small. They were served in fancy custom disposable plastic cups so that may account for the cost. My rose oolong tea was very good. The salted milk cap added an interesting rich creamy flavor to my tea. The jasmine green tea was excellent...full of floral flavor as a jasmine green should be. I was disappointed in the Thai style rolled ice cream. The Mango Madness advertises real fruit but all they used was mango syrup/ purée out of a squeeze bottle. For over $6, they could've used a couple of chunks of mango. Flavor-wise, the mango flavor was too subtle to be called Mango Madness. The presentation was also underwhelming. Have had better constructed creations at Mr. Cool's in Apex. I didn't try the Monkey Madness one so can't vouch for that. read more

Milk Lab is new and fresh to the Cary area! It was exciting to see a new boba, milk tea, and rolled ice cream in the area! This gives me hope for the town of Cary! If you do not know, there is a huge market for this type of shop in larger cities like New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angelas. I stopped in for dessert and decided to get a strawberry oolong tea and key lime rolled ice cream. The oolong tea was fresh and out of this world. The tea was well-balanced along with the milk cap. They ran out of boba so I could not get any on that particular night. The rolled ice cream was a great experience but it looks a lot better than it tasted (no hard feelings). I would recommend adding more fresh lime juice. Awesome customer service and very kind people. I think milk lab will do great in the area! read more
