For my birthday, I decided to give this place a try and order a takeout feast to enjoy with my family. I ordered the moo ping, som tum, fried wings, moo yang, crying tiger, corn som tum, shrimp tom kha soup, pad Thai, larb ampawa, tom yum goon fried rice, and Thai tea. We really loved the Thai food there and would have to say this might be my favorite Thai food spot now! The meats were all well seasoned and marinated. Our favorites were the moo ping, wings, moo yang, and pad Thai. Honestly, all the dishes were yummy. Warning, the sauces were spicy! I would recommend ordering non-spicy since, my family thought the mild was spicy. We'll ask for spice on the side next time. I personally liked the level of spice. So fast and delicious for takeout Thai food! I actually ordered through delivery and it came so fast. The food was still piping hot and the wings were still crunchy! Lemon Grass Fried Party Wings: My two year old enjoyed these the most, with its crunchy exterior and moist interior. The flavor of the lemongrass wasn't overpowering but added a nice touch. I would definitely order a bunch of these again - would be great for a party. I hope they have catering options soon. Som Tam (Papaya salad): this one reminds me of when I went to Thailand and had this daily. I love the option they have of adding Pla La and I loved the tiny shrimp bits. I ordered it mild and it had a nice little kick. Sticky Rice Berry: this was nice and sticky, it paired perfectly with the larb and tom yum soup. Mikeys Tom Yum Soup: I got this one with chicken, and the flavors really shone through with all the spices they used in it. Larb: nice and light with perfect seasoning. I could probably get this one alone with the sticky rice and eat it as a lunch. It's hard not to order everything else though because it's all so tasty!! ChaTraMue Thai Tea: holy cow this is going to be my new spot for just Thai Iced Tea. It was strong and refreshing. It wasn't too sweet like some boba shops, but just right! I met one of the owners who delivered the food and he was super nice too! Love being able to support this new small business and enjoy spectacular Thai food! Their prices are super reasonable too. First, you must try their Short Rib crying Tiger. It is so tender and has a great dipping sauce. This little place is great. You can eat there or get takeaway. They have also great drinks that you can just grab and go. The place is very clean and it is super comfortable. You will be happy there. They have the best Thai tapas. Each one is great and they have a spicy salad type bar that will make you want more and more. The lemongrass grilled wings are great. Their poke skewers are ever so tasty. The service is great. They are fast and friendly regardless if you order by phone or walk in. They are just really nice and want you to be happy. So, be happy. read more

WOW! My wife and I love Thai food, but Mikey's Thai Tapas took us to what Guy Fieri would call "Flavor Town"! We ordered the Pad Thai (medium spice), crying tiger, moo ping, and fried wings. The flavors in our dishes were phenomenal, and that may be an understatement. Even after driving 40 minutes home, the food traveled so well. Pad Thai was amazing and so flavorful. Typically restaurants give you a ton of noodles and limited meat and toppings. Here, we had so much chicken and tofu, it really makes you feel the bang for your buck! Crying Tiger was cooked to perfection. The marinade used was amazing and the steak reminded me of beef satay, but cooked better with way more flavor! The fried wings had insane flavors I've never had before. Whatever was put in there was divine! Unlike anything I've ever had. Moo ping had amazing flavor and was cooked well! Skewers were easy to eat and delightful! We also got two Thai teas. I have had many Thai teas over the years and this is by far and wide my absolute favorite. My toddler is almost 2 and in a phase of only wanting to eat rice, mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, and French fries. I gave him a piece of the crying tiger and BIG MISTAKE! He ended up eating 3 more pieces, so sadly, that was 3 less pieces for me. Lastly, the owner was extremely kind over the phone and in person. Him taking our order and taking the time to speak with me when I picked up the food added to the great experience. The only part of trying Mikey's for the first time I can complain about is the regret I feel that I only ordered 4 dishes! It was more than enough food, but I'm just so excited to try the other dishes! I typically stick to what I know when it comes to food, but moving forward, I think I will need to try everything on the menu. If you're in doubt about trying this place, take a leap of faith and you'll never look back! Food and service typically have to be excellent for me to leave a review, especially a 5 star review. WOW! We ordered family style, so we could try as much of the menu as possible. All the meats were so well seasoned, perfectly cooked and tender. The papaya salad was a refreshing balance to everything too. Our personal favorites were the short rib nam tok and the moo yang grilled pork. In addition, the drinks were also so good! The chatramue Thai tea was a classic Thai tea, perfect level of sweetness. The Thai tea Arnold Palmer was awesome, such a cool unique drink that will be ordered again. Lastly, the owner was so kind and helpful. Very personable and kind. Mikey's Thai Tapas has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in the South Bay. Every dish is packed with flavor, but a few standouts deserve serious praise. The Short Rib Crying Tiger is unreal: perfectly tender, smoky, and paired with a dipping sauce that hits every note of spicy, tangy, and savory. It's the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. The Lemongrass Chicken Wings are another must-order. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and infused with that bright lemongrass flavor that makes them totally addictive. Same goes for the Coconut Lemongrass Fried Chicken Wings - they're so fragrant and flavorful with that hint of coconut that we order them every time. And don't skip the Moo Ping! These grilled pork skewers are incredibly tender with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. They taste like they came right off a Bangkok street grill. On top of the amazing food, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. South Bay is lucky to have this spot--Mikey's Thai Tapas is that good. Once you scan and it identifies your order, it'll open the locker with your order inside. But a man at the window saw me looking really confused so he just handed me my order it's so futuristic! The idea is that a bunch of kitchens are behind the walls and they cook ready to order, robots deliver it to the lockers, and customers can quickly grab and go as they please. Cool concept! It's a must try, and it will be on your repeat order list! Update: They have Pad Thai on their menu now, and it is hands down the best pad thai you'll ever taste! The noodle is so soft and savory.
