Mikey's Cheesesteaks - LARGE - CHEESESTEAK HOAGIE - Cheesesteaks Near Me - New Braunfels, Texas

This day's adventure takes me back to The SchoolYard. This place has different venues, one of them is "Mikey's Philly Cheesesteaks". But first the place, you walk in and you can see the creation taken place. You head to the counter and see the various items on the menu. You can eat there or go take it away and eat somewhere else. The place has some seating or you can take it and eat outside. The people working here are very welcoming and treat you quite well. But the most important thing is of course the food, and when I say the food I'm talking about outstanding food. I ordered the "Phlamin' Philly" it was one the best cheesesteaks I've had in long time. The meat was tender and packed with flavor it had a small bite with the jalapeños but take my word it is delicious. I paired it with some "Cajon Fries", those fries with the cheesesteak are a winning combination. If you have a craving for some cheesesteak you can't go wrong here. The variety of the cheesesteaks, guarantees you'll find one that'll feed your hunger. read more

By far one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I've ever had or in a while ! Perfect amount of bread to meat ratio and steak had a good amount of seasoning. Fries were a hit also. Only flaw was that the establishment was pretty hot but than again...this is Texas !! read more

Best cheesesteak in Texas... honestly, best cheesesteak I know of anywhere. It's getting too popular though!

I read many comments saying this is a hidden gem in Seguin, and I would agree. It is run by a Marine veteran who seems very passionate about his shop. Upon entry, I was welcomed promptly, and his wife took my order. Watching him work and cook my food in the back was a wonder. The ambiance in the place is such a vibe. He is starting to collect military patches from other service members, and I will definitely bring one of mine to him on my next visit. The Philly cheese steak sandwich was top-noted. The fries are some of the best I've tasted. If you are craving a hot delicious Philly cheese steak sandwich and want to support our dedicated veterans at the same time, stop by Mikey's. You won't regret it! read more

Incredible cheesesteaks! If you want authentic flavor, this is the spot in Seguin--it genuinely reminded me of being in Philly. However, be prepared for a long wait; we were there for over an hour because our order was accidentally forgotten. Thankfully, Mickey was a total professional--very apologetic and understanding when we pointed it out. The food is exceptional, just make sure you aren't in a rush when you visit! read more

Yummy. Best cheesesteak in Seguin! The bread was soft, the meat had the perfect flavors, the bell peppers and cheese were incredible and the perfect addition. If you haven't tried you're missing out! read more

Went to the Schoolyard to try a hamburger place, but they were closed that day. We decided to try Mikey's and discovered a cheesesteak place both my husband and I loved! I had the brotherly love plus onions and my husband had the phlamin' Philly. Cheesesteak has never been high on my list of food, but I can't stop thinking about Mikey's. We're planning to go back this week. Probably won't ever get around to trying the burger place we originally planned to try. read more

Busy place. Tried ordering a turkey sandwich, no turkey and no bread. No veggie options. Tried ordering a sub with grilled mushrooms, onions and bell pepper but it can't be done. We ended up with cheese sticks and fries and those were very good. Music too loud it's hard to hear to place order. Place is super busy because food is great, however because I don't eat meat, this place was not for me. read more

Omg! This place has the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I've ever had. The establishment was amazingly clean. The owner is fast, friendly, and cooks on the spot. Sandwiches are hot and fresh. My husband got the regular "rocky" and I got the regular "liberty bell."Fries are delicious and crispy on the outside soft on the inside. If you haven't tried it, it's a must! read more

My husband and I stopped into Mikey's on a whim, and I'm so glad I did! The staff couldn't have been friendlier! Since it was my first time, I needed a little help with the menu. The Brotherly Love was recommended, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious! As someone who's had many Philly cheesesteaks in Philadelphia, I'm picky about getting the real deal and Mikey's absolutely did not disappoint. The steak was tender, the bread was perfectly soft in the inside and crispy on the outside, and the flavor was exactly what you hope for when you're craving an authentic Philly cheesesteak. If you're anywhere near Seguin, make sure you stop by. Great people, great food, and definitely worth the visit!!! read more

Good place that's hidden. Worth a try. Small inside but good for a small group or so. Nice to sit outside as well. Unfortunately they were out of chicken so we weren't able to try the chicken sub..& But brotherly love sub had good flavor great seasoning good portion size as well. Other than the vibes being a little off with the cook and cashier. wouldn't mind going back to eat here again ! read more

Ok sandwiches are great. Service is good but wait times can be kinda long. The prices though... $20+ per sandwich, no drink, no chips with that. I got 4 sandwiches fries and drinks for my family and it came out to $127. I was blown away by that.... But again the food was really good. But you're charging $3.50 for a 16oz drink... read more

I've never lived on the east coast so take this review for what it's worth. This has to be the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had! The place is a an old converted elementary school with a whole bunch of shops built into it which makes the experience neat in itself. The chef/owner was a super nice guy. I totally recommend you try this place! read more

Husband and I were looking to try something new in Seguin, and Mikey's did not disappoint. Everything was made fresh in front of us and the cheesesteaks were absolutely delicious. read more

Pre-ordered and paid online with no problem. I had a 10 inch Phlamin' Philly cheesesteak with double provolone. Got there right on time, and it was good to go. Employee was friendly. Everything about the sandwich was great...the meat was seasoned well and they must get shipments of Amoroso buns, and if not it was a good copycat. The only thing I can suggest, is to have someone who can take the food to the customers car. It's in the back of a food hall, parking is across the street from the hall, but it's not a long walk by any stretch, but for people with mobility issues like myself, it's a challenge. But anyway, two big thumbs up for this business! read more

These guys do such an amazing job. It was super busy due to a concert, so wait times were a little long. But the wait was worth it, and the food was absolutely amazing and exactly how we ordered it. Love this place read more

So once again, it's so good i went back the next day for dinner. I ordered the Philly's Finest. And, I gave them their first law enforcement patch for their wall. They were so excited that i got a genuine handshake and photo. They are currently giving military and first responders a 5% discount as well! I took mine to go and ate it at another restaurant because my wife wanted a salad. I ate it at a place that rhymes with "hilies". Lol. read more

Where do I begin- Wow!!! My first time eating here & it's amazing, fresh & im very picky about my bread becoming soggy & even today as I'm eating 2nd half ( their huge) no wet bread . Been here twice, once on opening day. The Philly is great but the customer service is lacking and the place is hot! Not sure if the cashier (wife?) is just shy or what but she's never been friendly, I wouldn't say rude, just there. I have high hopes for this place and hesitate to write the review but it's a fixable thing. So much potential! read more

WOW! WOW! WOW! Best cheesesteak I've had in years! The onion rings were piping hot and delicious as well. The large Philly is enough for two people and packed with nicely seasoned tender steak. Will definitely go back. read more

Just found this joint while in Seguin for a basketball game. Whole family loved it. It's worth the drive. Top notch sandwiches. Good sides with good portions. Mikey was there running the place. Nice dude. Will definitely be coming back. Their next project is moving to New Braunfels. The sooner the better. read more

Food was great . Service is slow . Most people have a thirty minute window for lunch , food took twenty minutes to come out . I get it , your making it fresh to order, maybe a second person in kitchen would help ? Not a fan of bagged HEB lettuce. Why not prep your own veggies? Slice some fresh tomatoes. This is a premium price sandwich shop . Not a fast food joint . Again, food was delicious. Will probably order in advance next time to save time . read more

Upon entering, you'll be greeted by the staff and you'll simultaneously feel welcomed, I ordered a large brotherly love with American cheese and ranch, with a side of cheese fries and a coke. I can honestly say that as soon as my order was put in, Mikey himself put 100% into every Philly cheesesteak. You can visually tell that while he is cooking that he puts his all in every detail of his food and you can even taste it once the order is complete, I highly recommend this place. The environment is very laid back, while maintaining that professional food establishment vibe. read more

Went for the first time yesterday and ordered the flamin phili, it was amazing! Best I've ever had. They don't necessarily need to, but if they ever were to add various types of hot dogs and gyros to thier menu I'd go here everyday. Not to mention the fact they'd make a huge profit because no one in town serves gyros, or chicago/NY dogs. Either way I will be back for sure. read more

Delicious! Growing up in NY I know what a real Philly cheesesteak should taste like and this was it! My husband is Texan through and through, and he thought it was so good he ordered a 2nd sandwich after devouring the 1st one. It's a family business, owned and operated by a very nice husband and wife, one who's from Philly and one who's from Texas. Go in and say hello, but be warned...you will want more! You can sit inside or take your food to enjoy outside by a playground, courtyard, grass, outside theater or sit by the water. Hidden gem! read more
