The food and the service were just OK. The deciding factor that makes this 2 stars rather than 3 is that my grilled chicken was extremely tough and dry. On any given day this is likely to fluctuate although the food is a little too expensive to dine here on any given day. In other words this is probably more like a 2.49 rounding down. read more

Upon entering we were greeted by friendly staff members, and were immediately seated. There was an enjoyable atmosphere. We had a delicious appetizer that included Parmesan Zucchini fries, and "Bam Bam Shrimp". The wait time for our entree is the only thing that could improve. We had our 13 year wedding anniversary dinner after church at Mike's place. The food was awesome. I had prime rib that melted in my mouth. Our waiter was excellent, we did not have to ask for anything. He even gave us a desert on the house for our anniversary. Love this place, my Mom passed 2 years ago. She was 93. Mike's Place has great food at good prices. I love the cajun influences but the menu is broad enough to fit any appetite. The Pecan Grouper is a house specialty and a fan favorite. Everytime I have gone, someone at our table orders that dish. I tend to order the Blackened Grouper, any of the amazing shrimp dishes, or the blackened chicken. I really love the atmosphere inside the restaurant and the service has been very good. Conway is lucky to have a place like Mike's. read more

Patrons are mostly typical snooty holier-than-thou, we're-better-than-you, southern rich, Dockers loving Conway country club crowd. Now, on to the food. It's fine. Not fine dining as they would like, but it's fine as in agreeable and pleasant. For most Yelpers, you'll have a good meal, but you're never gonna go out of your way to come back here. And, please, heed, my advice on the atmosphere here folks. I visited recently again, after many years of pause. Then I remembered why I don't frequent. Wait staff seemed more concerned about clearing our tables after each course than getting our requests (drink orders, condiment requests) right. I definitely feel that was partly due to how my dining companion and I looked--we're not "Conway rich"-looking. Mike's Place is really the nicest place in Conway. No, it's not innovative but it is professional and has a nice atmosphere. The food is consistently good. Some hiccups- the spinach in the salads is never "baby" but pretty grown up and chewy. The cocktails are fine, but not fancy. The steak is great and the seafood is always good. If you have a big party with many tastes, this is the spot. They even do gluten free with no trouble! read more

I'm originally from Calif, so I have eaten in many fine restaurants.And I want to let you know that Mike's Place is up there with the best.For the people who have complained about the food,have you ever thought about letting the manager know right away so they can correct any mistakes on the spot?For the record we have eaten there 10 times or more and never had a bad meal.Everything has been perfect.And let me tell you I would let them know if it wasn't. We stopped in today while returning to Jasper from Little Rock... My oldest daughter literally googled "best restaurant in Conway" and this place was first in line, said seafood, so we gave it a shot. I was immediately impressed with the service as soon as we walked in, but our server was just fantastic. The best service I've ever received. My 13 year old ordered cheese and shrimp fritters and they were SO GOOD, 19 year old got Etoufee which was also fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely (I worried about bringing my 2 year old in, she's crazy, but they were ready with crayons and a chair for her, and luckily for us we went at a slow time). I've been stopping at the same restaurant in Conway for years and I'm very glad we decided to try something different today. We can't wait to go back! read more

Ready for a very special restaurant experience? Try Mike's Place! Freshly prepared, so perfectly seasoned that I didn't touch the salt shaker! Hubby's rib-eye was huge, delicious, and tender. My salmon was flaky and not a bit dry. Raspberry vinaigrette on a fresh, crisp salad is my favorite, though the other dressings I have tried are also yummy. Not a bad lagniappe on the menu! Parmesan spinach is a personal favorite. Brownie cake sundae is absolutely worth saving room for. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. I can't think of a single negative thing to say. I've visited twice. The first time I went with my family. Three of us did not like our food to the point we just didn't eat it. The service was about average but the bartender (I ordered a cocktail) would not stop chatting with someone outside the bar area, so it took a very long time to receive my drink. I visited again yesterday with a medium size work group for a working lunch. They seated us at a table off to the side, but it was still quite loud. I would say 3 or 4 thought the food was ok. 4 of us did not eat our food (a hair was found in one plate, one plate was sent back for being too salty, and the other two of us, just didn't bother). The server got orders wrong, was not attentive enough to drink refills, and almost dropped the desert tray; she was having a hard time. A helper came over and he was extremely rude to us and stated that he was not our server, but just helping our server out. I think it is a really beautiful space, but to me the food is not good at all & the service doesn't match up with the atmosphere. I will say that the zuchinni appetizer is amazing, but for the price and everything else, I hope I don't have to go back. read more

My husband and I used to go to Mike's place all the time. Finally, we just decided to give it up. Every time we go...something goes wrong, we've had to send back many meals due to under cooking, over cooking and just plain bad food. Servers are friendly, but slow. Bartenders are usually good. However, if you sit in the bar be prepared to listen to the staff clean the silverware. They actually clean it and sort it right there in the bar area!!! It's very, very loud and we asked the owner to move the huge tray of silverware to a different area and he just flat out said "no". Bad food, but good atmosphere if you don't have to listen to a bunch of staff in the bar clean and sort silverware. Not going back. Not worth it! read more

I'm always skeptical of New Orleans themed restaurants anywhere, but their Shrimp Bentley (take on NOLA style BBQ shrimp) exceeded my expectations. Fried green tomatoes were not cut too thick like most restaurants and the remoulade was on point. The high points for us, however, were the wood fired pizza-a perfect blend of sauce, cheese, and toppings-and our outstanding server with the awesome radio voice who was attentive, but did not hover. Should we find ourselves in Conway again, we would definitely re-visit Mike's Place! read more

I had bacon wrapped scallops and they were delicious. I tried a family members pecan crusted fish and it was delicious also!
