Kimchi stew was also very good, pork belly went crazy lol It was really hot when it was served so I would def wait it out a bit to enjoy fully. Their kimchi and banchan were also fresh which I appreciated. Service 5/5: quick and friendly. Ambiance 5/5: very clean and parking was easy. Would def recommend if you don't wanna drive all the way to ktown.

A quick Yelp check revealed 4.6 stars - good enough for me, I'm in so I pulled over and stopped. They have a delicious and interesting fusion of Korean and Mexican and they do a good job marrying the 2. They have been open about a year and inside is very clean and nice. I ordered and had my food very fast. I was hungry but not too famished and didn't want to spoil my dinner in a few hours so I ordered 2 tacos. Their tacos are about average street taco size. It would take 3 of them to totally fill me up. The tacos come with onions, cilantro & homemade tomatillo taco sauce. I got the Braised Pulled Beef Taco ($5) which is spicy & comes highly recommended. It is 6 hour braised beef and it was really good but there seemed to be quite a bit of gristle and it took some effort to chew it. I also got the Beef Korean Bulgogi Taco ($6) which was Korean Bulgogi marinated beef. And it too was really good. Because of the gristle I liked the Beef Korean Bulgogi better. Next time I wouldn't get Braised Pulled Beef but would try the Spicy Korean Gali Beef Rib Taco. I'd also like to try the burritos. I will definitely come back but I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 due to the gristle on the Braised Pulled Beef that was more than it should have need, but this was still a really good meal!

I stopped by for brunch with my sisters and wife and we all agreed this was a new favorite of ours. We stopped by around noon and snagged up the last table as this place was busy. Service was good and very friendly. Menu is of a good variety but we ordered dishes such as there chilaquiles, Machaca con huevo and the breakfast burrito and they were all incredible dishes!! The Machaca con huevo was just phenomenal and the star of the plates. Quality and flavor and portion was truly a 10 out of 10. Thank you Provecho Calimex for the incredible food! Cant wait to come here again, till next time!

When we mentioned the long wait, the servers seemed dismissive and gave us attitude rather than addressing the concern. The coffee was also very watered down. When we asked for it to be stronger, they just took out ice n added more water , but instead of correcting the coffee, it was simply diluted further. When we brought this up, we again felt that our concerns were not taken seriously. To make matters worse, our receipt was given as one combined bill without clearly itemizing the individual charges. We realized afterward that we may have been overcharged. I have called the restaurant multiple times over the past four days trying to get clarification, but no one has gotten back to me. The food itself was not the main issue--the customer service and lack of accountability were. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves both the organization of the service and the way customer concerns are handled.

I had a fantastic experience at Cafe Brasil on Washington Blvd! I ordered the steak with basmati…read morerice, a side salad, and plantains, and everything was absolutely delicious. The steak was flavorful and cooked just right, and the combination of the rice, fresh salad, and sweet plantains made for an incredible meal. Washed down with a bottled carbonated Brazilian beverage. So satisfying. The steak was bursting with flavor, the atmosphere was über authentic, and service from the endearing owner, Fatima, made the experience literally chef's besos! You can tell there's a lot of pride and care that goes into this well-heeled operation. If you're looking for delicious Brazilian food and a great dining experience, I highly recommend Cafe Brasil. I'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience…read more At first, the place looks really nice and the prices don't seem bad at all. But once the food arrived at our table, everything changed. Almost everything we tried was extremely salty. The empada ($4.50) was honestly one of the worst I've ever had. The coxinha and risole tasted like they had been fried in old oil and were so overcooked and burnt that they were barely edible. As a Brazilian, this was especially disappointing. When you go to a Brazilian café, you hope to enjoy some of the flavors and foods you grew up with, but unfortunately, this was nowhere close to what we expected. Our bill was around $50 for: 1 pastel, 1 coxinha, 1 risole, 4 pão de queijo, 1 orange juice, and 2 guaranás. Then came another surprise: we ordered a passion fruit dessert for $4.50, and the portion was less than half of a small cup. On top of that, you could barely taste any passion fruit. I normally understand that restaurants can have an off day, but there were simply too many problems with the food to overlook. For around $50, the quality and portions were extremely disappointing. Based on our experience today, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place. Save your time and money and look elsewhere if you're hoping for good Brazilian food.

I've been going to SunnyBlue since their first location opened in Santa Monica on Main Street!…read more I'm seeing people get confused between the locations and the CULVER CITY LOCATION HAS SEATING with a community table inside and several smaller tables outside. The Santa Monica one is more grab and go as it's their smaller flagship location. This business has been carried by the owner Keiko who has brought a slice of Japan outside of the designated communities of West LA's Sawtelle and DTLA's Japan Town! Here (at either location) you will find unique delicious flavors of omusubi but also called onigiri rice balls! That you won't find anywhere else! Rice balls are actually shaped into triangles and stuffed or mixed with simple ingredients like a salted plum called ume (it tastes salty, and tangy with a touch of sweetness) To more engaging offerings like the lucky cat with japanese pickles with fresh wasabi, ginger, and bonito(dried fish that is sliced paper thin) These finger foods can be enjoyed as a snack or grab a few to make a meal. The Culver City Location has a decor that immerses you in Japan. They have a small market section with alcohol such as saki, handmade dishware from Japan, cute claw machines for kids, and expanded meal offerings! Besides Keiko being absolutely amazing, the food is as well! From curry stuffed to fresh shisho leaves and pickled wasabi!!! There's lots to choose from and the best part.,,.they have always had an expansive vegan menu! Yes they are very Vegan Friendly! I love the Eggplant Chili Miso and Wasabi Tsukudani. I highly suggest checking out the Culver City location so you can sit down and enjoy a drink and the ambiance and expanded offerings. After going to this place for nearly 16 years there are rare days where things like the rice may be off due to a mistake, but I've only experienced that a total of 2 times in 16 years so it's pretty rare!

The order took awhile (about 30 mins) but there is an online tracker and it's quite accurate. Both omusubis were made fresh. The rice was kinda falling apart. It could definitely use more protein. The curry one is sooooo good but needs a little more salt. The beef was good too, it reminded me of Yoshinoya. It was about $6 for one. They have a combo plate but I didn't need the sides.
