The food isn't bad but it wasn't authentic Japanese or even what I expected out of any typical Japanese fusion. I was craving Japanese but didn't really get that. I felt disappointed in the inconsistency in the food. I loved the green bean goma-ae because it had vinegar in it. It is not the traditional preparation. It tasted more like a Chinese or maybe Korean in flavor. The spicy miso ramen was just bad. The portion was huge but who cares if it doesn't taste good? It looked and tasted like Chinese style noodles that my dad would cook at home. The pork was lean pieces of meat, not pork belly or pork cheek. They were just tossed in there and cooked like a stew. I was expecting all the toppings to be laid out on top. Other than the noodles and maybe the egg, it didn't taste like authentic ramen at all. Takoyaki had good batter and a nice crust but two of the balls didn't even have octopus in it!! Also got this glazed pork belly dish, forgot the name. It was a generous portion but the sweet sauce on top was too sweet and again tasted more Chinese in flavors. Soba buckwheat tea was nice and authentic and the lotus kinpira was good and authentic enough, but so many hits and misses at the same time. This restaurant is confused.

Service here was great! We came right when they opened for dinner at 4:30pm. It was a good time to come because soon more and more people started to show up. We ordered appetizers from the Happy Hour menu. The tofu dish was lovely, and the grated ginger was a nice touch. The garlic edamame was ok, we didn't really taste much garlic which was odd. My cousin and I both ordered the Vegan Ramen and we were shocked at how big the bowls were. The broth was light and all the veggies were really tasty. We added in some of the chili oil and seasoning which brought more flavor to the dish. We appreciate the fact that the broth wasn't too salty and we could make it our own with the provided additions.

Vibe is neighborhood ish with a mixture of families, singles, couples, kids. Decor is simple with 3 of 4 walks kinda plain and one wall with a mural. Staff is friendly, kind and attentive. Yes, Ramen is the centerpiece -- guess that's why it in the name

Absolutely amazing and we didn't even order ramen! We had a handful of the appetizers and the Salmon Don and sake. It was so fantastic and the chef even came out and greeted us. Would have never just strolled in here by looking at the outside but we are going to be regulars!

The food here is always good. I like the spicy stuff so that is my go to. The service here is very good, they always check up on you and you have to owner running around helping out as well. Having the owner around and working that their own restaurant is a great thing to see in my opinion. The atmosphere here is cozy and a little small but it is what it is with a small location. I love coming here, there's always customers and that means there's good food!

It's raining in LA and what better place to warm the belly than Motor Ramen with a big bowl of spicy Ramen! Moto Ramen is always consistently delicious with very kind and attentive service. Today was no exception. We started with some Yellowtail Jalapeño rolls and Gyoza and today are server explained to try it with the Vinegar and Soy sauce and blend 50/50, and it was delicious! Excellent recommendation! And the Yellowtail was fresh and delicious. The SPICY ramen hit the spot on this chilly day. I love the portion size here too! Moto is a casual spot with a pleasant ambiance, Japanese art adorns the walls. Not too classy to feel precocious, but clean modern vibes. There is metered parking in front (coins, credit cards and a text to pay option on line).

My experience here was decent. I visited this restaurant towards closing on a Sunday night. The service here was really good and my server was super nice. He was even gentle in reminding us that the kitchen was closing by a certain time which I appreciated. I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkatsu hot ramen and it was alright. The broth was tasty, but way too salty for my liking. The toppings were okay, but chashu pork was dry. I would've liked it better if the meat melted in my mouth. The portion was pretty good, it was was warm and it was filling though. The interior was fun in design and relatively clean. For parking, I believe it is just metered street parking. Overall, a mid experience here and I would opt for other ramen options elsewhere.

The ambiance was real cool. The staff was so cheerful, professional, and attentive. The food was so good Marinated Cucumbers is a must The Spicy Miso is the best the broth is flavorful but light and the spice level is perfect.

Deliveries come with nice bag and arrived fresh & hot.

The last time I ate here was about six months ago, and it remains one heck of a place to enjoy delicious ramen and gyoza, though the gyoza was admittedly on the salty side this time. It came as a pleasant surprise that the restaurant wasn't crowded on Christmas Eve, and we were seated immediately. Best of all, there was even a parking stall available right in front of the entrance. Truly a night to remember for years to come.

Had always heard good things about Moto Ramen and after finally trying it, I can confirm it is all true. From the ambience to the flavors, it could not have been better. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely flavorful up until the last bite. I truly have never had ramen this good. Moto Ramen servers and cooks, you rock! Absolutely DELICIOUS! Will DEFINITELY be coming back!

This is my go to Ramen spot ever since I discovered it. After I discovered the tan tan men ramen, I don't get any other ramen! It's my absolute favorite. We come here at least once a month. We love the fresh marinated garlic they offer. Staff is so kind. Check online to see if the waitlist is open because it can get busy. Other delicious items I've tried so far: chicken karaage, marinated cucumbers, spicy tuna roll, and spicy salmon roll. Just had to write a review on how delicious it was after having it again.

The staff was really friendly, but I wasn't impressed with the food. I tried the garlic ramen, which was okay. It was very mild, and I added extra seasoning. I also tried the salmon don. The portion was surprisingly large. It also came with soup, which I also found bland.

Is there anything with peanuts?

Thank you for asking! We do use peanuts in a soup or two depending on the season, but your server or someone on the phone can help you navigate the menu.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / April 10, 2023

Hi! I would call them. I did sit out on the patio a few months ago. I don't know if it is a permanent or was just a covid pop up. It is covered with a large tent pop up. There were quite a few tables out there spread out. I don't recall if heated… Read more

Do they still do outdoor dining?

Yes. Outdoor area has an awning.

Patio dog friendly?

Hi Blanche! Favorite part of our patio is being able to see our furry friends.

When is happy hour?

Hi Steven! Happy hour is M-F 4:30-6PM.

Does spicy tonkotsu have peanuts?

No, it does not. There are peanuts in our Tan Tan Men and Spicy Miso.

How many heaters do they have on their patio this winter?

Went last week for dinner and there weren't any heaters. It wasn't too cold and the ramen provides the heat.

I didn't have a reservation and the hostess squeezed me in on what seems to be a busy Thursday night. The staffs are very nice and the food comes out quick. I got the steak and it was very tasty. My daughter must be hungry so she ate most of the food so I order a ramen to get full. The ramen is surprisingly good for a izakaya place. If you like Izakaya, try this place. Although it didn't necessarily live up to the hype, it was definitely an authentic spot tucked in a busy area of LA. Parking, was particularly hard to find. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Immediately greeted by a friendly staff who showed us our table. Ambience was reminiscent of a local spot you'd find in Tokyo. A comforting, warm, bright place that serves as a familiar dinner spot that makes me wanna go back to Japan. For first timer, the menu was slightly hard to navigate. Lol, but I guess that speaks to the authenticity of the Japanese menu. Assorted pork belly wrapped yakitori/skewers, 7.8/10: these were hyped up by both my friend and the server, but overall it was slightly underwhelming. The skewers were all seasoned nicely, although they were a bit hard to eat since they were so big. Starting with the pork belly wrapped cabbage skewer, I don't believe the cabbage added any sustenance to the dish. I did like the bacon wrapped tomato skewer since the pop of acidity and freshness from the tomato paired well with the fat from the pork. Chicken Karaage, 9.1/10: definitely the best dish here. Chicken was fried perfectly, and was warm when it came out. The batter was not too thick or heavy. Season well with enough space. The lemon is a must for acidity and brightness. And of course they kewpie mayo is a nice touch. Tonkotsu Ramen, 7.5/10: the pork broth was rich and deep. The noodles were nice and chewy and firm clinging onto that broth. However, the portion was a bit small for the price. I was caught off guard by that. Granted, this place doesn't boast about the ramen. Overall, this wasn't anything mind blowing. Stuffed chicken wing, 8/10: stuffed generously with ground chicken ginger scallions and seasonings. The outside skin was flavorful crispy and savory. The temperature of the wings were pretty good too. Solid.

Right away, you could tell this place is run with professionalism and care. The owner himself, dressed sharply in a beautiful suit, personally greeted and seated us with such kindness and politeness. We ordered the Edamame, Shiromi (Chilean Sea Bass), Yaki Onigiri with Salmon, grilled corn on the cob, Australian lamb, and the Onigiri -- every single dish was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The sea bass was especially phenomenal, buttery and perfectly cooked. The Yaki Onigiri had an incredible crisp texture with amazing flavor, and the lamb was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Our main server, Ako, was absolutely wonderful. She had such a radiant smile and calming yet upbeat energy that made the whole dining experience feel warm and welcoming. Although multiple staff members helped throughout the evening, everyone worked together seamlessly and attentively. One thing that really stood out was how incredibly hardworking and detail-oriented the entire staff is. Nothing goes unnoticed. Empty plates are cleared immediately, tables are kept spotless at all times, and the service flows so smoothly from one dish to the next. Even with the open kitchen concept, the ventilation is excellent -- you somehow leave without smelling like food, which is impressive. The owner also deserves recognition because he truly leads by example. He wasn't just standing around supervising -- he was constantly walking around, helping staff, serving tables, observing details, and making sure everything ran perfectly. Also worth mentioning: the bathrooms were exceptionally clean, which honestly says a lot about a restaurant.
