Went here for dinner on a Saturday evening didn't have any wait time, but seems like people started to roll in and get really busy late in the evening. They have a good selection of sushi and sashimi items and thought everything was really well organized. Staff is very friendly and brought food out quick. Edamame was just ok, but the sushi was solid. Definitely thinking of coming back if I'm in the area. They offer combos for a very decent price so maybe I'll get that instead of individual roles next time.

I wanted to try a new sushi/ramen place, & I'm so happy I found this restaurant. It's family owned business They don't have a parking lot so you'll have to street park. It seems like they have small indoor seating & possible outdoor seating. Absolutely loved the aesthetic of the restaurant very cute and decorative as you can see in my photos. If I'm not mistaken the host did tell me it's Japanese/Hawaiian food. Unfortunately they didn't have ramen when we came in due to high cost & more etc. The workers were super friendly & attentive. You get seated & order through the tablet. Once you order, it gets sent to the kitchen. We got our food served quick. Everything was delicious and fresh. I recommend passing by, it won't disappoint. Definitely coming back.

Such a cozy, cute environment for some very stellar rolls! All the sauces were paired extremely well and the fish was very fresh. Clearly the owner and staff have put so much effort and love into this place :)

Great food, service, and ambiance! Drove all the way from Korea Town, and we had a great time.

This spot is so cute. The fish is very fresh and their portions are generous. The rolls are creative and super sauced. I really enjoyed the Salmon Lavah. I can't wait to come back and try the other rolls.

A nice find near Helms Bakery in Culver City. It was recommend to me by Gabriel at nearby The Mestizo. It is a comfortable family style Hawaiian-Japanese place with a small table top kiosk to order your entrees, combos, and beverages. The service is low key, friendly, and efficient. Once you finish the meal, you stop by the counter to pay your bill. While they do not serve alcohol, I understand that you may carry some in from the other shops nearby. There is street parking. I am certainly going to return to try other dishes.

This place was fantastic. I live two blocks away and pass by it legit everyday and have always wanted to try. So I decided to just walk over and get a table for one. It was amazing. It's byob and the atmosphere is just so warm and friendly. The sushi was amazing like I got a CRÈME BRÛLÉE SUSHI ROLL??!! It was so delicious it may be part of my weekly routine bc there are so many rolls I want to try.

I really liked: Salmon Lavah Roll Hiyako Tofu Kyoto Yellowtail I liked: OMG crunch This was ok: Original Brulee Roll The tofu was unexpectedly one of my favorites of the night. Silky, cold, and paired with a sauce that was excellent. The Salmon Lavah Roll and Kyoto Yellowtail both had that savory freshness with a little kick that keeps each bite interesting. The fish quality felt fresh, and the flavors felt intentional rather than just spicy for the sake of it. The OMG Crunch was solid too. Crunchy, satisfying, and exactly what you expect when you order it. The Original Brulee Roll was interesting and creative, but I found myself wishing the top had more of that satisfying crispy crackly brulee finish. Still good, but maybe not a go-to for me next time. Overall, great lineup of #goodeats. Service is pretty standard. The ambiance is actually charming, especially being such a small LA spot. They decorated it thoughtfully with Hawaiian-style touches, and even though the tables are on the smaller side, I never felt cramped or uncomfortable. Cozy, fresh, and memorable without trying too hard.

Sushi and the food was very solid. It was an interesting experience ordering through the iPad and barely having contact with anyone that worked at the restaurant. This is also a BYOB establishment, but there is a liquor store next door. Sushi and food was good, that would keep me coming back, along with the BYOB, makes it a very affordable option if you are looking for something that is pretty quick and not too fancy.

Popped into this restaurant after seeing so many good reviews and I definitely understand why! I split a Combo A with a friend and the Spicy Tuna & Crème Brûlée Rolls were so delicious!! The service was also superb, we were seated immediately and ordering/paying was super easy. The inside is set up like a cute little shack which really added to the vibes. I give 4.5 stars just because it is on the pricier end, but this place is perfect for a date night!

Not good sushi! The spicy tuna roll appeared grey and the salmon smelled fishy I didn't even eat it--I almost asked to return the items. The yellowtail was decent and the miso soup was the best thing at this place. It's super cute with all the added interior details and figurines but I won't be back. $37 gone...

Small, intimate but mighty is how I'd characterize this friendly and delicious neighborhood sushi joint. Friendly service, fresh and wide variety of sushi and sashimi. Food and service will not disappoint!

We stopped by after visiting Helms Bakery and were excited to finally check this place out. We first noticed it during the Culver City Art Walk but saw they weren't fully open at the time. We ordered a couple of maki rolls and the Szechuan tofu--everything was delicious. They gave us a sample of the ramen broth, which was also good. The ordering process was easy since everything is done through the Toast app. The decor and atmosphere are also really cute, we'll definitely be back!

It was a little confusing at first trying to figure out where we were supposed to grab the sushi plates. They restock pretty often, so if it's packed when you go, you may end up waiting in a crowd for someone to come restock the fridge shelves. We waited about 5 minutes before someone came out and restocked a ton of plates, so that was definitely a plus. That being said, it does feel like people are kind of pushing through to make sure they grab what they want. We got California rolls, salmon nigiri, and tuna rolls. The California rolls were definitely my favorite! Everything tasted fresh, and the prices were really affordable. Was it worth getting pushed around? Definitely not ! But I can see why people love the hype. Good sushi at a good price!

The Santa Monica one is more grab and go as it's their smaller flagship location. This business has been carried by the owner Keiko who has brought a slice of Japan outside of the designated communities of West LA's Sawtelle and DTLA's Japan Town! Here (at either location) you will find unique delicious flavors of omusubi but also called onigiri rice balls! That you won't find anywhere else! Rice balls are actually shaped into triangles and stuffed or mixed with simple ingredients like a salted plum called ume (it tastes salty, and tangy with a touch of sweetness) To more engaging offerings like the lucky cat with japanese pickles with fresh wasabi, ginger, and bonito(dried fish that is sliced paper thin) These finger foods can be enjoyed as a snack or grab a few to make a meal. The Culver City Location has a decor that immerses you in Japan. They have a small market section with alcohol such as saki, handmade dishware from Japan, cute claw machines for kids, and expanded meal offerings! Besides Keiko being absolutely amazing, the food is as well! From curry stuffed to fresh shisho leaves and pickled wasabi!!! There's lots to choose from and the best part.,,.they have always had an expansive vegan menu! Yes they are very Vegan Friendly! I love the Eggplant Chili Miso and Wasabi Tsukudani. I highly suggest checking out the Culver City location so you can sit down and enjoy a drink and the ambiance and expanded offerings. After going to this place for nearly 16 years there are rare days where things like the rice may be off due to a mistake, but I've only experienced that a total of 2 times in 16 years so it's pretty rare!

The curry one is sooooo good but needs a little more salt. The beef was good too, it reminded me of Yoshinoya. It was about $6 for one. They have a combo plate but I didn't need the sides.

We've been here a gazillion times and we'll be back a gazillion times more. We love both the sushi and izakaya items. The nigiri, rolls and carpaccios are (literally) chef's kiss! And their fried, steamed, sauteed items are exceptional. I don't know what magical incantations and techniques are used on the miso eggplant, but people who actively don't like eggplant love this dish. It's caramelized deliciousness. Straight-up witchcraft I tell you.  I know I waxed on and on about the bacon mochi in my previous review, but I need to you hear me when I extol its virtues from the highest mountain. Plus, this time, I have video of the epic pull! The fish tacos are superb. There a light, crispy batter on the flaky fish with fresh veggies on top. I daresay I felt healthy eating these tacos. The sauteed scallops with ponzu is an absolute must-order. The scallops are cooked (not overcooked, not undercooked) to a perfect texture that retains the natural sweetness of scallops, which contrasts beautifully with the savory-tangy-umami elixir created by ponzu and butter.
