Black Pepper Chicken - big portion!
Judy T.

Still great, still inexpensive. Good fast service. Easy ordering online and easy pickup even though they are busy at lunch. Today's order was a black pepper chicken bowl add mushroom. Delicious.

After coming here throughout the years since they opened I'm appalled and disgusted to see how they have managed to deceive customers by shrinking their portions and size pieces of their meats. Tonight was the worst! I have proof in pics of 3 years ago on their Pepper chicken and today I took out the small pieces (which were also hard and dry) apart in a bowl to see the difference. They fill bowl with lots of veggies and little meat under which you don't notice. How can they keep charging the same prices for the small portions/pieces of meat? My husband said the same thing about their beef. They used to be bigger strips and now tiny little bits. I gave it two stars because flavor is still there but if things are going to be like this I will take my business elsewhere. How truly disappointing the restaurant food industry is getting.

I tried the spicy mayo fried Korean chicken bowl and the black pepper grilled chicken bowl with veggies on a recent visit. The portions were very large and I could only finish about a third of each bowl in one sitting. This is more of a take out location and there isn't really any table service or dining in option but the kitchen team had my order ready to go, and they were friendly when I picked up my order. The food tasted fresh, but there weren't that many pieces of the fried chicken that had good size amounts of breast or thigh inside - a lot was just batter.

This place is an awesome little option if I'm in a rush and want a chicken bowl FULL of flavor. Located local to me, it's extremely convenient to have a place that tastes this good be this close. The menu is simple but the flavors are complex! I recommend this to anyone who's in the mood for a bowl exploding with flavor.

Good just not amazing I got the bulgogi bowl and it tasted decent. Meat was pretty dry but I still enjoyed it. I had to ask for extra sauce but that may just be a personal preference. Portions are also not bad. It was mostly rice but still a decent amount of meat. Overall this is a food is good and healthy

My new favorite go to spot! I've been to the BBQ+Rice location in Westwood so when I saw there was a location in Venice, I had to try it. This location is located on Venice blvd on a street with other restaurants. While the restaurant location is busy, we were easily able to find parking in the surrounding areas. When you walk in, you immediately see the numerous items you can order from. There are multiple items to choose from and all sound delicious. I ordered the black peppered chicken while my friend ordered the spicy chicken. The dishes are fresh and the restaurant is busy so just be aware that when you do order, you will be waiting 15-20 minutes for your food. The workers there were great and service was pleasant. While there's not many tables, there are two inside and two outside for people to sit down. If you're looking for a restaurant with great food which is fast and fresh, definitely check this place out!

This restaurant feels like a Korean-inspired restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The place was also well lit, clean and cozy . It might be harder to find parking but if you live nearby, you can always order it for to-go. The cashier was very friendly and patient in explaining the menu. The food was overall great, and reasonably priced as well ! The food: - Spicy Chicken (8/10): I thought the portion was generous! The rice texture was cooked to perfection (not watery). Meat was mildly chewy and the salad that came with the bowl was fresh . I think the only thing I didn't like was how spicier this dish is compared to the spicy pork. Which was supposedly having the same level of spiciness. - Spicy Pork (10/10): The spicy pork though, was delicious ! The meat was juicy and tender. One thing though, if you don't like onions, you better let them know ahead of time, because they put a lot of onions on my bowl and my mouth smelled like onion for hours . Overall, I totally recommend this restaurant! Great food, clean, convenient, reasonably priced and your food gets served pretty quickly. They have many branches throughout west LA. So, you can pick whichever is closest to you. I think they will still taste the same !

Still Great - every once in a while I see the same guy that opened this location! Super kind & welcoming. Spicy Fried chicken (side) is too good to skip.

Fast, affordable, and convenient takeout! This place hit the spot when I needed a dinner takeout option on a weekday. The menu is simple, the service was polite and welcoming, and the food came out quickly! I ordered the Bulgolgi bowl for ONLY $13!! Portions were quite large. Vegetables tasted great - shiitake mushrooms, carrots, onions, scallion, and a little pickled cucumber! The meat was tender and more of a sauté v BBQ taste. 5 stars for the the pricing and service. I'd come back for more takeout!

This was one of the first eateries I tried since moving to LA. Never disappoints. Yummy bulgogi bowl with pickled cucumbers & a good amount of veggies. Fills you up pretty well. I like that it's made fresh to order although you do have a bit of a wait. This location doesn't have parking like the Hollywood one does. There's indoor & outdoor seating though.

Carima R.

I am proud to say I come here about twice a week because i have school in the area. the quantity is generous considering the bowl is about $13 if i'm not mistaken either way it's worth it. I am pretty loyal to the spicy chicken bowl and 10/10 recommend it along side with the bulgogi and rice bowl too. the service is nice, where i'm always greeted by a friendly staff, the restaurant is always clean , the area is safe and walkable which makes it all the better.

I have not been to the location, but I just ordered a spicy chicken rice bowl with a side of kimchi, this was good as haaaaaail!! Hit the spot. Large portion, too. Affordable. Will be ordering again for sure!

My date and I were looking for places to eat in the area that was in walking distance and we stumbled upon this place. The inside is small and there is very limited seating area so be prepared to either sit in your car or stand. Nonetheless it was a fantastic experience. The people were polite and the menu was very simple and easy to read. Prices were very reasonable which is a surprise in this current economy. I got the Spicy Chicken Bowl for $12 dollars and my date got the Spicy Chicken Mayo. They were both fantastic. We waited a good 10 minutes for our food. The person who took our order brought it outside which was lovely. My only critique is on the menu i didn't see a single drink. Maybe if you ask they'll give you options or maybe I missed something. Other than that I would come back here! Please keep those fantastic prices and that amazing quality food!

Bludso's brisket is tender and marinated just right. While some briskets are too salty, Bludso's maintains a light and balanced flavor profile, which lets me enjoy the flavor of the beef. However, be warned that some leaner cuts might be a tad bit dry. The pork ribs were also great. although they weren't "fall off the bone" soft, it's still one of the best ones I've had in LA. The sides were also good. They weren't mind blowing but they were definitely comforting. Overall, Bludso's is a great BBQ spot that I would come to again and again. Definitely one of the best in LA. Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!). But if you've never left LA, Bludso's will probably be the some of the best BBQ you've had in your life!

Bludso's BBQ has become one of my more reliable go-to spots for BBQ in Los Angeles. While portions…read morehave gradually gotten smaller as prices continue to rise, I want to focus mainly on the food quality itself. And overall, Bludso's is still a solid BBQ joint that I'll continue coming back to. Brisket - 4.5/5, Lean Brisket - 3.5/5. The standout here is definitely the beef brisket. They offer two versions: regular brisket and lean brisket. The regular brisket is well-smoked, with tender, moist meat that pulls apart nicely. The dry rub has a great balance of seasoning and flavor without overpowering the beef. My only complaint is that the brisket can be a little fattier than I'd prefer. On the other hand, the lean brisket swings too far in the opposite direction; it has too much lean meat. It loses too much moisture and ends up noticeably dry. Honestly, I wish they offered something right in between the two cuts because the flavor itself is excellent. Even so, the brisket remains the reason I keep returning. Pork Ribs - 3.5/5. The pork ribs are good, though not particularly memorable compared to some of the better BBQ spots around. The flavor is there, but the ribs were slightly dry and lacked the tenderness I was hoping for. The taste and texture just didn't fully come together for me. BBQ Chicken - 2.5/5. The BBQ chicken was probably the weakest meat option I tried. The chicken was properly smoked, but the smokiness completely dominated everything else. I couldn't really pick up much seasoning or flavor beyond the smoke, which made it feel one-dimensional and less interesting overall. As for the sides, the cornbread and baked beans were both above average. The cornbread had a good texture and flavor, while the baked beans had a nice depth and complexity that complemented the BBQ well. The mac and cheese, however, was a letdown for me since it tasted a bit dry. Overall, Bludso's BBQ is still a dependable place for BBQ in LA, especially if you're craving brisket. It may not be perfect across the board. Still, the quality of the smoked meats - particularly the brisket - keeps it firmly in my regular rotation.

Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!

My group and I decided to stop here for our lunch before going to universal studios since it was along the way. Parking is pretty confusing for us. They state there's a lot behind the building to park at, but it looks liked you have to pay and we weren't sure which lot. So we just did street parking. We did go around 1:30 pm on a Thursday, so did not have much of an issue with finding street parking. Inside the restaurant, they have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. There's no wait staff, so you go to the counter and order and once it's ready, they call your name/number and you pick up your tray of food from the counter. We ordered the El trio platter, which comes with 1 lbs of brisket, 1 lbs of pork ribs, 2 sausages (chili relleno and cheddar jalapeno) and 2 sides (which we chose Mac and cheese and red potato salad). We also saw the burgers from YouTube so got 2 of the Thicc burgers to share among everyone. We got a sides of the Texas chili to try. Everything was great. Our group really enjoyed the food and everyone said the BBQ was some of the best they've had. The brisket was really tender and seasoned well. Everything was seasoned well actually. The burger was great. It was soft, great flavor and was just really solid. One of the best burgers I've had. The ribs were everyone's least favorite, but that just means the other food tasted better. Ribs were still good. All the sides were delicious as well. The Texas chili was great, the Mac and cheese was creamy and the potato salad tasted homemade. We could tell it was made in house. The sweet iced tea was refreshing, not overly sweet b Overall, I'll have to come back here to try their desserts and other items. I'll for sure be getting the burger and brisket again.
