I highly recommend Mike's Garage. They have worked hard to figure out the glitch that my Subaru has had. Appreciate their dedicated service and skill. read more

Ray and his crew at Mike's Garage are awesome! I've had recurring A/C issues for 3 brutal NM summers, and no shop in ABQ could determine the root cause, just wasted my money on diagnostics and pointless recharges. It was a tricky issue, and Mike's Garage only caught part of it at first. But when I brought it back the next day, they were determined to solve it, and they did! Turns out there was a weird issue with my compressor that only showed up at high temps, which is why they missed it the first time. I was incredibly impressed. I was expecting to wait around all day for the compressor swap, and was shocked when they had it back to me, ready to go, within 2 hours and only charging me for the compressor since they'd missed the issue the day before. I'll definitely be using Mike's Garage from now on, it's worth the commute! read more

Selling my daughter's car... I haven't driven it much. I thought that the AC wasn't working so I made an appt at Mike's Garage -- mainly because it's convenient to my work. My husband dropped it off for me and the tech said, "Let's go see what we go." Embarrassingly, he pushed a button I had not pushed and it WORKED! Some shops would have not taken the time to look BEFORE they checked it in and "fixed" it, or at least would have charged me a diagnostic fee. This has won my loyalty, should I need help (for real!) in the future. Hope it won't be TOO soon! ;) But I'm glad to know who to call. THANK YOU, MIKE'S GARAGE! read more

They are the best. Have had car worked on n several occasions. Always fast, reliable, and fair.

Quite simply, the best. Because of their superior service, I will think twice about buying a new vehicle that is not a Subaru!

I knew I needed new rear brake pads on my Subaru Outback, so I made an appointment, showed up on time, and had the BEST experience possible. They got right to my car, and the mechanic said the inner surfaces of the rotors were bad, so I okayed new rotors, and they got them to the shop in record time, installed them and the new pads, and my Outback is a dream car again. Their billing is honest, fair and I'm pretty sure much more user friendly than anywhere else. I will never hesitate to use them again in the future. read more

I never leave negative reviews- I generally feel like people are always doing the best they can & I'm not trying to put any more negativity in the world. But I had such a terrible experience here, & I want to prevent others from having a similar experience. I visited Mike's in 2017 and I had a wonderful experience (which I wrote about below) but apparently the shop is under new management, and wow, the experience was like night and day. The person at the front desk was rude to me from the moment I walked in. It was baffling, it was as though he had a major bone to pick with me though he had never met me. He wasn't communicative, I tried to engage him in friendly conversation and he flat out ignored me, he didn't tell me to expect any kind of wait (I had called first and was told to come in, which he was totally unaware of, and the wait was over an hour). When the car was examined and the mechanics were telling me the diagnosis, I expressed that I wasn't fully understanding what the mechanics were saying, so the front desk guy told me (and I quote) that my car had the equivalent of "stage 4 terminal cancer" and then walked away. This is a Subara Impreza with about 50k miles on it. Apparently this was the diagnosis because there is rust on the undercarriage (for context, I live in NYC - all cars from NYC have some level of rust). I was also told that my car also needs a control arm replaced and that it shouldn't be driven until I get that done. I was then charged $130 for the checkup. I left and promptly went to Cutting Edge Automotive who checked out my car for free, called me over when it was on the lift and both showed, and explained everything to me. They assured me that my car was just fine (it had a normal level of rust for the part of the country I live in) and that I didn't need to replace the control arm yet and that my car was perfectly safe to drive. These guys could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable and were a pleasure to deal with. I HIGHLY recommend them. And as for Mike's, save your money, time and sanity: this place has gone downhill. read more

It's so great to have a Subaru specialist you can trust. They are quick and thorough. I'm really happy with them!

After suffering at the Santa Fe Subaru with poor, no terrible, service and delays - I was introduced to Mike's through a friend. What a relief. I have essentially moved everyone I know over to Mike's. read more

When I was new to The Fe Our Subaru was overheating and leaking coolant like no body's business. They told me they were quite backed up due to COVID and a few mechanics that were sick currently. I told him what was going on, and he said, "Tell you what, bring it by we will take a look and see if it is a simple fix or not". I brought it in the next morning when they opened, they popped the truck, immediately saw the radiator hose had a hole, they replaced it immediately on the spot and showed me that there was a mouse nest in the engine, and they proceeded to remove it and make suggestions for how to keep the pesky varmints away from the warm engine....I was on my way... I bought all the guys working a Starbucks to express my appreciation! Fast forward 5 weeks and all the warning lights were going off in our Subaru. I knew I loved these guys already from the past experience, so I called them and asked if I could come by and try plug it into the device that tells all the alerts. Of course, they said of course come on down. Got there and even they were surprised by the number of alerts, ha ha ha... they looked the engine over expecting to see more pesky mice partying, but nothing. They suggested a Tune-up, reset the alerts and see if they come back on. (So glad we did the tune up, because they found a few other small issues that really needed to be taken care of... I drove off and no alerts have shown up... I can not express to you how kind, fast, efficient this crew is! If you own a Subaru, this is the only place you should be going to, even if you live in ABQ, it's worth the drive to work with this amazing team! read more

Best Subaru mechanic in Santa Fe! Highly recommend. I've had them perform routine maintenance as well as larger jobs on my 2015 Outback and they've always been fair, professional, and provided quality service. read more

Fit me in fast, communicated well. Told me there was no problem when there was no problem. Friendly, reliable, honest & fast!

These guys are awesome. Definitely the best place in Santa Fe. Just book ahead for regular maintenance.

Mikes is an excellent choice for Subaru owners to get repair work done! They have been fixing all my Subarus issues and doing my oil changes. On 4 different cars I've had a variety of major car surgery, all of which have been done properly and have been very happy about. An Impreza, and three Outback's all ranging from 2002,2011,2012,2020 have been maintained and well taken care of. I've had a couple clutches, oil leaks, oil changes, idle arms, seals, etc. Thanks to these guys my family and vehicles have stayed on the road safely. read more

Recently I had a mechanic tell me that the noise my car was making required a new transmission and 'rack and pinion' for $8000. Since the noise came from engagement of the clutch, I decided to get another opinion. Mike's Garage was recommended. As soon as they heard the noise they said, "you need a clutch." For under $1000. I had a new clutch the next afternoon. Very convenient. The new clutch runs so smooth. I'll not go any other place now for work on my Suburu. read more

Very poor service and even worse responsiveness. Don't return phone calls. Don't even apologize for screw ups or offer reasonable explanation. I can't not comprehend how they possibly have such a high rating. I've tried with them twice now and will never go back. Just an oil change...you'd think they'd have that down! read more

Call this amazing local business: MIKE'S GARAGE! A real person answers and/or will call you back promptly! The dealership was booked for weeks out and it was difficult getting scheduled. Read rave reviews, then called Mike's Garage on a Monday and got in on Thursday. 90K miles tuneup done!!! Thank you, Gentlemen! read more

Always helpful and timely. I stopped going to the dealer, (Premier, now Santa Fe Subaru) and paying too much, and being told I needed work i did not need...Mike's always came through. read more

Been going to Mike's for 15 years. Recently had my 3 month oil change. Mike and staff have always been friendly and beyond efficient. Honest to the bone. Heard someone from Colorado didn't like neighborhood and proceeded to trash Michael for speaking to someone else while he was putting in a new battery for her. In defending our wonderful Santa Fe town and friendly way of living she further trashed him and wrote a bad review calling him rude. Far from truth as the staff there bend over backwards to be polite and accommodating. Those not liking anything but the Plaza should stay in their own states and neighborhoods. We love Michael and all the staff! Karen G read more

If you have a Subaru in Santa Fe this is the place to take it . Honest, affordable, and reliable work. The Santa Fe Subaru specialist

This place is amazing!! We were passing thru Santa Fe and our car started making a horrible screeching noise. Spent the night and searched yelp for a Subaru repair shop. Found Mike's Garage was highly rated. We were there when they opened at 8 am. The guys were super friendly and helpful. They hoisted our car up and found where a pebble had been lodged in the wheel. They told us we should be fine to continue our travels. The charge was ZERO!!! We were totally at their mercy--they could have charged us anything!! We made a donation to their burrito fund and are back on our way north. If your Subaru is in need of a repair, this is the only place you will need. Thanks guys-you are awesome!! read more

If you own a Subaru, it is best to take it to a Subaru mechanic. These guys know their stuff! It is a very busy garage with a high level of integrity, and excellent customer service. In my experience their pricing is reasonable. My most recent visit, from out of state , was to replace a headlight bulb on my 2010 outback. I called ahead and was told to come right in. Mike's Garage has kept me safe on the road for many years. read more

I can not say enough about how wonderful this Garage is. They were able to fix my windshield wipers in a flash! What a lovely chap!

No doubt, mike is a great mechanic. Every time I've brought my 02 Subaru to him he's diagnosed and fixed the problem accurately and at a good price. He has even thrown in services for free before. My big problem is that he's so popular that it's impossible to schedule an appointment with any kind of timeliness. My average wait time after calling for an appointment is 2-3 weeks. And when there is something wrong with my car that prevents me from driving, 3 weeks is a long time. Mike needs to hire extra mechanics and build a few extra bays to meet the high demand that he has. Until then I'll find someone else to work on my car. read more

Ok, not great. Perhaps for older cars they are a better deal. Mine was brand new and they didn't do basic things like top off the washer fluid, check tire pressures etc. read more

I'm 100% satisfied with Mike's Garage. Mike (and his son, Mike) run a great shop. They and their team do excellent work, they do it fast, and it's reasonably priced. I've been taking my Impreza there for standard maintenance for two years now and the process has been smooth. And then there's this which just happened - my brake light went out, I called for an appt. and Mike said to just bring it by. He had the part in stock and changed it out in 2 minutes. That's as good as it gets. read more

Everyone told me to go to Mike's and I wasn't disappointed. They must have hired more mechanics because they got me in the same day and I was in and out in an hour. My AC quit and I was imagining $$$ but the idler pulley had frozen and the belt had gone. For only $85 I was back on the road. They are friendly, courteous and cheap - what more can you ask for? read more

They are the go-to place for servicing Subarus. I had moved from Santa Fe 5 years ago to the Pacific NW...they were great then and I've moved back to Santa Fe in the Spring...with another Subaru. I do NOT trust the dealer that I bought this car from 6 years ago, and was delighted to see Mike's was still in business and thriving better than ever. Been in for a very promptly done oil change and relieved to have them as my mechanics. Recommend them highly especially for us Subaru lovers. read more

Mike's is great! When I bought my car, I was told it would need roughly $1500 of work in about a year and half. A year and a half later, Mike's garage recommended exactly the work that had been predicted, right around that same price point. They got the work done on time, no surprises, happy to explain what they were doing to someone who isn't terribly knowledgeable about cars. They are honest, respectful, funny, and hardworking. What more can you ask? Thanks guys. read more

They're fantastic. They fixed everything that was broken on my Subaru. Thanks you guys for being a great place to take a Subaru when it needs to be fixed. read more

I have taken my 2005 Subaru to Mike's the last few years, and they are really great. I feel they are honest and will tell me the least expensive option for fixing my car, if I'm on a budget, or how long I can go before something really needs to be fixed. They now do oil changes, where they will check everything out and let you know if anything else is of concern. I can strongly recommend these folks! read more

When I moved to Santa Fe in 2010, I was told that Mike's, the Subaru guru, was the only place to go for maintenance and repair. This was the best advice anyone could give! I have lived quite a few places and have always had a car, so this is really saying something! The Mikes (I miss senior Mike since he retired) and their crew have always been the very best I could want. Not only do they do excellent work, but it is always timely and at an amazingly good price, whether for maintenance or diagnosing and fixing a problem. They are also lovely, honest people, who look you straight in the eye. They are THE BEST!!! Thank you, MIke's Garage!!! read more

I am SURPRISED that every review is not a 5 star rating. I have been going to Mike's Garage for a decade with never a problem. They are courteous, I can get appointment with a week or two... I know that so I call accordingly. If I have an emergency, they squeeze me in right away. They clearly know more about my car than I ever will and they let me know what's next and what to expect. THE BEST... and the quality has not changes since Mike retired. read more

When air conditioner stopped working I could live with that, but when my heater stopped working it was time to ask Mike's Garage to fix it for what I assumed would be my second major repair on my 15-year old car. But NO! It wasn't so complicated, the job was completed the day I first called asking for service, and the price was under $300, over half of that for parts. Mike's has been servicing my Forester since day one and it has been the most trouble free car I've ever owned. I so appreciate their honesty and friendliness. read more

Great service and for something minor they will help you immediately. I was pulled over for a burnt our break light and I stopped just asking what I have to do. A friend suggested Mike's garage after almost 2 years of target corrections of past work done in Texas that went awry. The corrections cascaded into more complications and delays with the dealership and a differing local shop. Once I made the appointment at Mike's in May 2015 the need of the car was identified with immediacy, the repair completed expeditiously and the cost priced reasonably. And recently, on short notice the car was prepped readily for a trip to Texas and back to Maryland. Impressive indeed and in deed! What a relief to find an automotive shop whose work offers no worries. I highly recommend Mike's Garage to any Subaru owner for either a "look-see," a second opinion, preparation for a trip, routine maintenance or repair that may be needed. The guys are not only expert but also way nice. read more

I went to get an oil change at Mike's. They got me in at the time of my appointment, did the work in record time, and sent me off to work happy, thanks to young Mike's quick wit. And the price was better than the chain oil-change places AND the Subaru dealership. I sought out Mike's because I got so tired of being "up-sold" by the dealership. . . .no matter what problem I went in for, they manufactured some other, really expensive problem, that had to fixed. I even complained in writing to the general manager and never got a response. No more dealership for me. I will take my car back to Mike's! read more
