Well, I really wanted to like this place. They have that great small business diner feel with some fun decorations. Our original person was very friendly and was happy to give recommendations. They're why I decided to try the country fried steak w/gravy. The second lady was a bit less so. I had asked for hot sauce immediately after ordering. After our food came, the server came by once to refill the coffee, and one last time, sliding the bill on the table and not saying a word. I normally give sometime, in case they forgot the hot sauce, but we were never checked in on again. The food was fairly normal, nothing special, so I really would have liked that hot sauce. One refill of coffee wasn't great either. The owner did hear we didn't have a great experience and seemed open to feedback. I called and feedback was provided a couple days after. Came here Thursday, 7/2/26 around 8:40am with my Uncle for much needed visit. It's seat yourself and there were plenty of seating available. Picked a booth and shortly after we were greeted by a lady that just wasn't friendly. It honestly gave a bad first impression because she was just grumpy and kinda snippy towards us. We did our best to set that aside and enjoy our time. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage patty and hash browns. My uncle ordered some type of omelet. Food came out fairly quickly and accurately. I'd say the portions are pretty large and prices are reasonable. They offer more than just breakfast and the menu is fairly large.... A few things sounded good. It gave me up north cozy diner vibes at the neighborhood cafe. I just wish service was better. Looking forward to future visit and I hope there's availability cinnamon roll available. read more

In yet another example of Yelp coming through for me, I was in this approximate area and I was craving Eggs Benedict, so I entered that into Yelp and yadda yadda yadda I got some very good Eggs Benedict at this place. Mike's Corner Cafe has a small town diner ambience that you'd expect to find further away from the metro, and I say that as a compliment. If you like a friendly neighborhood breakfast/lunch joint you'll be very comfortable here. They have a pretty large menu, and although they are open daily from 7pm to 3pm, it's not just a breakfast place. There are burgers, sandwiches, and other diner-fare staples, and there is a salad bar which I didn't explore because, well, you know what I was there for. (Also it's in a little bit of a cramped spot near the kitchen; it might lack some of the invitingness of most salad bars.) Service was quick and professional, prices were respectable, and the Eggs Benedict with hash browns met my expectations. I'd be interested in trying their post-breakfast items. read more

When this restaurant was Mick's Corner Cafe, I always finished my meal. I'm not sure when the name/owner change happened but I have to say I am sorely disappointed. My over medium eggs were cooked completely through. The bacon was paper thin. The whites of my eggs were rubbery, I couldn't eat them. The hash browns were so soggy and saturated in oil I had to spit them out. Nobody ever asked how my meal was. The guy ringing people out was unfriendly. Very sad to lose a go to breakfast place. I guess they got the toast right though. Not worth giving a second chance. read more

I love this place! Food is awesome and very tasty. I got the raspberry French toast fritter and it just melted in my mouth. Not too sweet and not too plain is what I like, it had a nice crisp to it too. Service was fast and I got seated right away. I live 30 minutes away from here and I wouldn't mind driving here to catch up with some friends. Items are affordable. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around noon and there was only 1 person working. It took almost 20 minutes to get a coffee and that is not an exaggeration. I felt/feel terrible for the poor guy who was working. Wherever owns this place needs to have 2 people there. It was horrible! Having said that, the nordic latye was delicious, albeit teeny tiny. When my family saw me (because at this time they had gone ahead to the restaurant) they cracked up at my tiny coffee and my gigantic wait. Kind of the opposite of what a person wants. read more

I arrived not long before closing on a Sunday close to 1:00 PM. When I have eaten here in the past I have enjoyed the full breakfast they serve all day. I quickly ordered one of the specials for the day on the board with a pancake and hash browns along with eggs. The waitress was especially attentive and courteous without being overbearing, in spite of the fact that i was the only customer in the restaurant and it was obvious I was delaying their final cleaning efforts to close. The food arrived quickly and was perfectly prepared and most tasty. My coffee was refilled. One of the other employees asked if I would mind if they did some cleaning of surrounding tables while I was there. That was certainly no problem and I assured them I would not mind. How kind of them to check when it was my choices that resulted in a late arrival. I realize that as a customer I am entitled to be treated fairly, not rushed and served carefully prepared food regardless of when I arrive, but it is nice to find a place that still respects its clientele and offers good service and food. Wonderful addition to our little neighborhood! I was so bummed when Isaac's went out, but am very happy Corner Cafe moved in. It's a typical cafe menu- breakfast all day and a whole bunch of sandwiches both hot and cold. We all had the California burgers, so I can't give a well-rounded menu review, but these burgers were terrific. Hand-patted, lots of cheese, lettuce and tomato; the grilled bun had a nice chewy texture. The homemade potato salad was great. Their fries were awesome. Our waitress was very sweet and quick. When I want a killer burger, I won't be spending any more than the mere $6.75 The Corner Cafe charges. Yum! read more

This corner diner is just under a mile walk from my house. We have a bit of a Sunday tradition going on where we will walk to the diner for brunch. I've enjoyed the omlettes, farmers scramble and the corned beef hash. Service is friendly and prompt, the food is solid. The only meal I felt was a bit sub par were the biscuits and gravy. Loved this place. We will be moving in right down the street, so I am pretty excited that it was so good. We tried the eggs Benedict and country fried streak. Both were very good. and my dads boring breakfast combo was very good as well. He is so predictable! The space itself is rather plain. Not much to the eye. But one of the best things about this place is the service! The servers are so friendly! They knew many of their customers by name, even giving out some hugs as customers came in. My dad joked with the gal saying "I didn't get a hug when I came in!" They played along, making sure he got a hug from each server on his way out! I figure you pay for two things when you go to a restaurant: quality food and experience. So first, the food was great. My son destroyed his plate of french toast. The server should wear safety gloves because the omelet I ordered barely hit the table before I had it gone. And my mom, the judgiest of judges really enjoyed it. Now for the experience. Im not sure if she's the owner, but an older woman there kept interrupting my family time. Im cool with the manager saying hello. But this person IDed heaelf as a tutor for young kids and proceeded to grill my shy, and obviously uncomfortable child about his reading skills. She left only to return with the kids menu (that my son had already ordered off of) and grilled him again. She didn't bother to notice that he was reading faster than she could point at the words. Only when I snapped that he is reading above his grade level did she leave. The rest of of the meal, my mom and I were on edge when she walked around. I did not enjoy that part of the experience. Please note the wait staff was very attentive and responsve to our requests. I tipped them big and wish I could anti-tip the other lady. Please go for the food, but only take your kid if you have their certified reading test scores to show. read more

After driving by for a couple of months we finally decided to try breakfast here. Lots of great choices at reasonable prices and it was delicious. I had eggs with Italian sausage, hashbrowns and raisin toast. Eggs were perfectly done, hashbrown were not greasy. My husband's chicken-fried steak with sausage gravy was also very tasty, although they did admit the gravy was not homemade, but from a mix. That's why only 4 stars. We took a pineapple malt with us to share, and it too, was very good. We're looking forward to going back to try other menu items, as many were appealing to us. This is an update to my 02/18/2012 Review. The Corner Cafe changed owners possibly back in September 2013. Everything in the old review does not apply. The owner appears to have cut expenses going for cheap and that has effected quality. Generally I love eggs benedict and what is being served now is low quality and smaller portioned which makes be think the cook was let go too. I left hungry. I used to go once a month. Now I have no plans to ever go back. read more

THIS REVIEW WAS PREVIOUSLY FILTERED, PROBABLY BECAUSE YELP IS IN BED WITH ALL OF THESE BUSINESSES. DON'T TAKE MY REVIEW DOWN, YELP! A total disappointment. The wife and I went for a nice Saturday lunch (I had the chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and she had biscuits and gravy). Don't let the decor fool you... The food was bad, and the service was even worse. Everything tasted like it came straight from a can or the freezer. The server, an elderly woman, paid little to no attention to us. We had to request soda refills and was never even brought our check. When I went to pay I handed over my credit card and was told then that they accepted cash or check only. There are no signs about this and it was never mentioned to us at all. Because we didn't have cash I was forced to go across the street to use an ATM that charged me fees. Despite the fact that we live less than a mile away, we will never dine here again. My wife commented on their Facebook page that they should inform customers in advance about their no credit card policy and they deleted her comment. This restaurant is doing everything wrong. I'd be surprised if they make it to July. read more
