Country fried steak
Secret C.

First time here. Very friendly. I ordered the country-fried steak with eggs, sourdough bread and some hash browns. Delicious! Note on neighborhood cafes: If you don't have one in your area, that is sad. It's nice to have a friendly, familiar place to eat breakfast. This a good example. Corner Cafe is a comfortable, friendly place to eat. Recommended.

Soggy hash browns and rubbery eggs
Jess R.

When this restaurant was Mick's Corner Cafe, I always finished my meal. I'm not sure when the name/owner change happened but I have to say I am sorely disappointed. My over medium eggs were cooked completely through. The bacon was paper thin. The whites of my eggs were rubbery, I couldn't eat them. The hash browns were so soggy and saturated in oil I had to spit them out. Nobody ever asked how my meal was. The guy ringing people out was unfriendly. Very sad to lose a go to breakfast place. I guess they got the toast right though. Not worth giving a second chance.

Biscuits and Gravy
Holly D.

Service was friendly and quick! Food was good tasting and good portions. Ordered Biscuits and Gravy and the gravy was just the right consistency! Clean and small community feel!

They only had a couple vendors in the lobby, but it was still nice to drop in and have an excuse to grab a holiday drink. Pro tip - do not sit at the bar if you're hoping to watch planes. There's no good window to look out of when sitting at the bar. I wish I asked for a table since it wasn't too busy!! I had the hot cocoa drink and it was delicious! Hit the spot and definitely made me warm and fuzzy. Our bartender was so great and we had the best time. I'm definitely coming back and sitting at a table facing a window.

The dining area is so noisy, and the tables are jammed into each other - there is no way to get in or out without bumping into another chair - but for good food at acceptable prices, it was worth it. After the last visit, the food isn't worth it for me. On this most recent stop, several of the regular items i had gotten had been discontinued, and I could find nothing else that was appealing, so I went with their omelette special. It was disgusting. I ate the individual elements by themselves, so that it wouldn't be a total waste, but much of the bacon just tasted bad - not undercooked - just bad, like they didn't know how to make bacon. The decline in food quality seems to mimic the overall decline in this establishent. I can't foresee ever going back. PS The Service was good.

My best friend from undergrad lives nearby & takes his parents here all the time. He likes the spaghetti. His dad gets the lasagna every time. I miss their popovers. I highly recommend the Original Bagel Sandwich--an everything bagel with bacon, American cheese, and a fried egg--paired with Oliver's hash. The hash has outstanding flavor and is truly a standout. Another favorite is the Scrambler (scrambled eggs with bacon, scallions, mushrooms, peppers, aged cheddar, and Oliver's hash underneath). Again, the flavor is excellent. If you enjoy a little kick, be sure to ask for their homemade hot sauce--it's terrific. I believe the ketchup is made in-house as well, although it's not quite to my taste. My one consistent disappointment with breakfast is that the menu never changes. They don't seem to offer specials, and I would really love to see new items introduced--whether occasionally or seasonally. Adding some variety would make an already great experience even better. I've considered going for lunch, but the current menu doesn't quite draw me in. I tend to go to specialty places for pizza or tacos, and while I'm sure the soup is very good, I can't justify $17 for a bowl. There are burgers and sandwiches as well, but nothing that really stands out to me. Again, introducing lunch specials or rotating items would make a big difference and likely bring me in more often. The atmosphere is excellent--comfortable, inviting, and full of charming little nooks and crannies, along with bar seating. If having a booth is important to you, I recommend making a reservation.

This isn't explicitly stated anywhere though so I can see how it can get you turned around like the other reviews state. Staff at the counter was super friendly and very open to suggestions though so that's a plus. We brought my niece here for a "birthday brunch" on here 21st and overall had a great time. The inside of the shop isn't anything to write home about but it's cute and great for the atmosphere we were looking for. More of a chill vibe where you can hang out and talk, think cute coffee shop meets diner type vibe. The food was good, not amazing, but still pretty decent. A little bit speedy for what you get. in my opinion but overall pretty good. I got the biscuits and gravey which maybe had a little too much greens added on top. It messed with the texture of the rest of the dish but the flavor was there and overall I enjoyed it. All in all a solid breakfast spot. A little bit spendy, but feels pretty in line with a more traditional sit down restaurant pricing these days.

That said, I found the tables claustrophobically close and the accoustics extremely loud. Most tables were for 2, but we were seated next to a 3 top that felt uncomfortably close. That 3rd person at the table next to me, who had extremely long hair, swished her hair *over* my plate of food more than once. At that point, I asked for a box to take my food to go just to escape the rude patrons sitting next to me. While I found the food well prepared and tasty, given the street parking only, menu prices, loud accoustics, and dense seating, I would probably opt to go elsewhere. There are other breakfast restaurants I prefer. It pains me to say this, because breakfast is my favorite meal to eat, and I'm always seeking someplace new to try. What did I get to eat: a tasty omelet with greens, gruyere cheese, and bacon served with hashbrowns and toast. The omelet and hashbrowns were both 5/5. The toast was borderline burned to my taste.
