This is one of two new chains with the EXACT same model. Prices and quality are a bit elevated, with an emphasis on freshness. I recently had oral surgery and afterwards I asked myself "okay but what do I really want to eat right now? Something tasty and SOFT..." My mind came to the Milk Cream Bread from Tous Les Jours, which is a decadently soft round pastry with a sweet, creamy filling. They also have fine sweet coffee drinks and a lot of very nice pastries. And, as I mentioned, some decent savory offerings which you might need to ask them to heat up for you. If I describe the environment as being half of the lobby of a new suburban apartment complex, that doesn't do justice to how pleasant it is. Homey, quiet, clean, intentionally designed. When the apartment people give tours to prospective tenants, my confident assumption is that they DEFINITELY show off this area and it probably convinces people to move to this building. The baristas are serious coffee nerds, rightly proud of their single-origin sourcing from farms in Honduras, Costa Rica, and Colombia. My iced vanilla latte tasted great; the mild sweetness from their house-made vanilla was perfect. My friend got a pourover that he loved; he stayed there for about an hour doing some work and was impressed by how long that container stayed warm. If you're arriving by car, there is street parking around the building, but there is also the option of going into the building's garage. They confirmed to me that the ground-level parking spaces are available to customers during their open hours. Also, this is right across the street from the Helmo Ave. station on the new Gold Line. If you're taking that route before 4pm, consider hopping off for one of their impressive coffees!

The vibe inside is quite cool but it is crowded so you might have to wait for someone to leave to grab a spot. We ended up only sticking around long enough to finish our food and then left to work somewhere else - it just was a bit too crowded for us to be productive and we didn't want to hog up space for other customers. I was pretty hungry while I was there so I ordered some meat momos. It took quite a bit of time for them to come out as they are made fresh, but they were delicious: incredibly savory and so fragrant. My recommendation is lean very far forward when eating these, one popped open while I was eating it and leaked all over me. Overall, great cafe and a good spot to grab a bite at too.

We then found out she was the General Manager. We were very impressed that the leadership here leads by example and they step up and do every job. She was a server, at the register and cleaned tables. This is rare these days and not only that she was very high energy and very welcoming.
