We love Amore Coffee, honestly we ended up swinging by to support them during all of the ICE activities in January, but due to quality, vibe, and friendliness we've now made it a staple. I've tried a few coffees but the one we keep coming back to is the chai latte. They're not overly dusty like some other places chais and they are consistently good. It's one of the best I've had in the twin cities. They do weekend tutoring if you need it and host alot of activities for patrons. The staff is always friendly and we love stopping in for our once-a-week coffee shop stops. read more

Amore Coffee has great drinks, I tried the Vienna, a honey cinnamon miel latte, and it was delicious. Cozy, not too sweet, and full of flavor. The space was a bit tight and outlets were hard to find, so not the best for working long hours. Staff wasn't overly friendly, but service was efficient. I've heard great things about this coffee shop and really wanted to like it. The space itself is undeniably appealing--plenty of seating, a clean layout, and enough outlets to make it laptop-friendly. It's the kind of place that visually invites you to stay awhile, but for me, the experience is more than just the coffee or the ambiance--it's also about how you're treated. As a first-time customer, I was hoping for a warm welcome or at least a bit of guidance when choosing between drinks. I did get a quick "hello" from a young woman, which I appreciated, but the person who took my order didn't greet me, smile, or really engage at all. It felt like I was intruding on his day rather than being welcomed in. There also seemed to be a lot of side conversations happening between staff members, including (what I assume was) the manager tossing coffee beans down the steps. It gave the impression that the team was more focused on chatting with each other than on creating a customer-friendly environment. That made things a bit awkward, especially when I asked a question about two coffee options and was told, point-blank, that the barista hadn't tried one of them. The explanation of the other wasn't much more helpful. I'm surprised, honestly--if you work in a coffee shop, I'd expect you to be familiar with what you're serving. Sampling the product seems like it should be a basic part of the job, especially if customers are going to ask for recommendations. I ended up ordering the caramel mocha and an old fashioned donut. They were decent, but not particularly memorable. Maybe I didn't hit on their best offerings, but I was hoping for something that stood out. To be fair, I did see some staff chatting with locals in a more friendly way, so maybe there's a rapport with regulars. But from my perspective, that friendliness didn't extend to everyone--and that matters. I might give it another try, but first impressions matter. For a space with so much potential, the customer experience left a bit to be desired. read more

I love Amore! Their blended Chai smoothie is fantastic, the energy in the coffee shop is so perfect, and I can easily go there for either catching up with friends or doing work on my lap-top. There is loads of art on the walls and the building it is in is so cute. Its also right across the street from an adorable antique shop. The sandwhiches are also extremely delicious and they have to many options. The baristas and people at the cash register are also very sweet and easy to work with. 10/10, highly reccomend! read more

If you wanted to create a TV that takes place in a coffee shop, this spot would be a good choice. I stopped by here to do some research; it has been on my list for a while. First I appreciate the energy of the place; the traffic of people coming in and out give it the appeal of a friendly neighborhood destination. It truly appears as if people who come here feel at home. They have a wide assortment of pastries and hot food in addition to coffee. What I feel is customary [sometimes] is coffee shops that serve hot food, lose points for coffee quality, they do not. I had a cortado and it was strong an creamy. They also have quiche [highly recommended]. Given this is in a neighborhood residential area, sometimes parking can be a challenge if you want to park in close proximity however it is free. I've been to Amore a few times & always ordered the same thing: their Rostachio latte! It combines my favorite latte flavors, rose & pistachio. The cafe itself is super cute, with plenty of seating (including a small patio area outside), a little gifts section, posters, & games. I saw a few people posted up working, or just hanging out, so the vibes were really chill. It looks super cozy! There was a bit of a line when we arrived, but it went pretty quickly. First time here at Amore Coffee. I happened to be not too far from this Amore so I decided to check this place out for the first time. It's tucked on the corner of Annapolis and Smith in West Saint Paul. Theres a few bistro tables on the side of the shop if you like to sit outdoors and enjoy. I walked in and noticed it was fairly busy which is a good sign for me. They had lots of good hot beverage items on the menu. I like checking out the seasonal menu and decided to get the Paul Bunyan drink which has white chocolate cinnamon and other spices. There was also a caramel apple drink too which I wouldn't mind trying. I ordered a veggie quiche with baguette as well. Prices are reasonable. Seating is both lounge and coffee tables with another room near the bathrooms that's more for card games. Both of my orders came out pretty quickly and staff was friendly. The Paul Bunyan drink was really good. Nice and sweet with good amount of froth. Could taste a nice balance of cinnamon and nutmeg with some vanilla. Nice coffee shop for all ages. Wow, it's been 4 years since I've been here. It's so cozy and nice. I should visit more often. This visit was with the Urban Sketchers. We definitely filled up the place, although they have a nice group of patrons beyond us. I chose to sketch the comfy high back chairs. The staff was so welcoming. I got a banana-strawberry smoothie when I was done sketching and it was so good. Loved the way they blended everything together then put the lid on so they could pour a little more smoothie into my cup. Awesome customer experience. Great experience. So welcoming. I forgot my coffee pictures but I still wanted to leave a review because this place was great! First off the staff was beyond friendly. One of the workers was roasting coffee beans and showed my husband how the machine worked. Coffee was great and they had a good selection of food but we were only there for coffee. The atmosphere was cozy with tables and cozy chairs to choose from. People were in working, reading, playing games and we were journaling. It is clear that this place is welcoming to everyone! First time to Amore coffee which I'm surprised as I live in the area. I just always forget about it, but SO glad I decided to meet a friend here for coffee this rainy Sunday morning. Stopped in around 11:00am and the place was packed, however we managed to snag a table. The place is bigger than I thought. Many tables to sit at and I thought it was so neat there's a little section with games to pick from. Lots of folks working, reading, chatting, and playing games. There was also live music being played in the corner- so cool. The menu is rather large which is nice something for everyone. I noticed a mocha mallow on the menu and I had to get it. Talk about a hug in a mug and delicious. I could taste the marshmallow-- fantastic and definitely would get again. I'm a huge s'mores fan and absolutely loved it. Service was great. The lady taking my order wasn't super friendly, but I took it as she was having a chaotic morning due to the busyness. It was a great first experience and I'll definitely be back as I love supporting local. Note, parking is all street parking and you'll likely need to walk to the coffee shop. Prices I felt were very comparable to chain coffee shops and cheaper than most local coffee shops-- win in my book! read more

I moved from MN but am back for a visit. This is one of the places I had to visit to get my fix. Nice changes: beautiful mural around the coffee order/creation area, new sconces (?) not sure but there is also high top tables and chairs. The vibe is always good and the coffee and food are top rate. I had a seasonal coffee and it was extra good. There is a second room with extra seating that is available for rental. It is NOT pet friendly despite the fact that it says they are online. My husband waited by the front door as far away from the front counter as you can get. He had our cat in a carrier and yet he was asked to leave. Couldn't even wait with her in her carrier while I got coffee. She is very well behaved and is used to going out in public so she wasn't even bothering anyone. The coffee also was not great. It was OK at best. We will take our business to Black Sheep Coffee in South St Paul where the coffee is better and they accept our baby girl! read more

This place is so cool. My friend and I spent a fair amount of time in St Paul including hitting James J Hill and St Paul Cathedral. We wanted to warm up and grab a treat. The neighborhood gives off the slight feeling of danger. Somehow this amplifies the effect of a great atmosphere and hipster quality coffee. Iced tea choices always refreshing & their plain coffee is good too. I'm not a 'fancy' coffee drinker so I can't comment on all the other coffee alternatives but there are plenty to choose from. Pastries, muffins & sandwiches all hit the spot if you need sustenance. People working here are friendly, the bathrooms are clean & there are relaxing places to sit in several different rooms. Not a lot of nearby parking but plenty of parking within a block or two. read more

I love supporting my local mom-and-pop shops. I'm a college student with a big workload and I often find myself snuggled up in local small coffee shops and cafes. Last week I was here four days straight, even bringing my study buddies. The coffee isn't great, but we loved supporting them, nonetheless. HOWEVER, last Friday I sat down with my Bubblr' can that I fill with water because I have chronic migraines. The line was long, so I decided to wait to order and let my friends go ahead first. The owner came in and without addressing me spoke that there was no outside food or beverage allowed. UNDERSTANDABLE, however, I didn't know is she was even talking to me because she said it in passing. Welp, there went my chance to ask follow up questions. She was gone. Where'd she go? OH- to go tell all of her baristas while pointing and making a big old spectacle of my table that, quote: "THAT if you see THAT, that needs to be addressed, immediately. We do NOT tolerate outside food or beverages." To which they replied; "What about ours?" Good lord, I felt like an idiot just standing there like I couldn't hear her. I packed up and left because I felt like a spectacle, so did my friends. I wish that was all. The day before creepy mid-forties manager was asking his barista if she was going to be a good girl or a bad girl on her 21st birthday. NOPE. NO THANKS! So glad to have found this little place when searching for a non-chain place in the area. We love supporting local coffee shops a d they always taste better than the boxed chain stuff. I really enjoy the real caramel latte here. It's not syrupy sweet, but very creamy and delicious. They also have a slew of flavors to choose from, rather than just vanilla and caramel. The pastries are also wonderful. I love the little banana chocolate chip bread hearts and the lemon poppyseed cookies. 10/10! My go-to coffee shop when I need a burst of happy. Nestled in the heart of WSP, this is the comfort coffee house with your standard coffee drinks and fabulous seasonal ones too! Currently, they are offering a fruitcake mocha (dark chocolate, amaretto, and pineapple) for the holidays! They have small food items like quiche, rotating daily soups, hummus, salads and sandwiches.
