I do NOT like bourbon. Yet, somehow, tasting theirs made me decide that it is just some bourbons I don't like. And may I also add, that I do not like rum as a sipping drink, it only belongs in a coke as a teenager. Their rum (specifically the navy strength rum) holy cow, a perfect sipping "whiskey." NOW, I come to the liquors I like, nay love, as life itself. Scotch whiskey...... they don't make it..... ok then my other favorite nectar of the gods, TEQUILA.... Specifically repasado or anejo. In this case, theirs is called "rested tequila." It is sweet for tequila, but only for "unsweetened tequila" meaning no added BS or sugar (which surprisingly some big labels use.) it has a profile similar but BETTER and less sweet than Casamigos repasado. It is really VERY good, not astringent and deceptively smooth so that it could be dangerous, time will tell. This place is worth a 20-30 mile detour to check out their tasting room and cave like atmosphere. It is a shame we were not at this place 40 years ago when I could have lit up a cigar. Oh well.

There were four of us so we grabbed a high top table in the bar area. Although college football was being played at the time the two TVs were showing news and a random sports talk show. We would have asked for the TVs to be changed, but we never got the chance to speak to a server. After sitting there for 10 minutes a server walked by and said she'd be right with us. Right after this a group walks in and tell the server they know her mom. She promptly sat them in the dining side and tended to their table. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally decided to leave as we had yet to even have our drink order taken. My wife's grandparents are property owners at Woodhaven and we come out occasionally. I definitely won't be back to Countryside and after telling them how bad the service was neither will they.

Inside it's not much better. The good thing is they have tons of beers, including a few that are on tap. It's about $4 for a basic cocktail. We got some and these were pretty watery. Food is nonexistent except for bags of chips for about $1 or so. They also apparently have frozen pizzas, but last time they were out of these. Has a few TVs for watching games. The bar is pretty close to houses so there's been lots of noise complaints of patrons. For a bar in a small town like this, it's pretty okay compared to others around it.
