After recently losing my husband to Cancer, we wanted to hang an old tractor grill at Psych Silo in honor of him. We would travel to the Silo a few times a year on our motorcycle. We loved the music, the ride and the decor there. My husband's best friend called Troy, the owner, and asked if we could come out and hang the grill even though they were closed for the winter. Not only did he agree to it, he spent most of the afternoon with us celebrating my husband's memory. He went above and beyond for people he didn't even know. Psycho Silo is another one of those often talked about "Biker Bars" that all the riders talk about going to. Honestly, it's a cool looking place, an old grain elevator converted into an outdoor venue. The place is cash only, they have an ATM on site, but you're better off bringing cash than paying the ATM fee. The food is food truck like fare... only the last couple of times I went it was nowhere near as good as food truck food. It reminded me more of high school cafeteria food. Don't have high expectations. Apparently there's been some issues with local clubs and they banned the wearing of club cuts/colors. Keep that in mind when you roll in. Overall this is more of a "word of mouth" "It's cool for bikers" place... but it's really just another motorcyclist trap. The food was delicious but a little pricey. But the cost included the great atmosphere. In the early startup days of Psycho Silo the owner gave a a tour and mentioned what was coming. The bar was open but the wind would blow your money away so he had things to put on top of your money to keep it from blowing away. I just happened to have a "GOLDEN RAILROAD SPIKE" that I snuck on the bar with a tip just before I left and till this day he doesn't know who left that railroad spike. When ordering food they give you an electronic saucer that goes off when you can pick up your food. And the bartenders were quick when you needed something and you could eat right at the bar. So I'd say the SERVICE is GREAT! The AMBIANCE is EVERYTHING at that place! If it was a brand new brick building with a bar, no one would be there. Atmosphere and service is great. I'm just not a fan of the live music, it seems more like a drunken karaoke night. Music is free though so if you want somewhere different to go, and a change of pace I recommend going there. read more

Some improvements in 2018 for the Silo bring some badly needed shade to the seating areas, though the large fans were a bit in short supply when we made it out the end of June. Decor was still cool, $3 cans o beer and Big on Blondes was playing a good set, so overall, a pretty decent evening. But the bar food... still very sub par and seeming to be an afterthought. Fix that lousy menu, and the Psycho Silo is a much better destination ride. As much as I'd love to rate it higher, still between a 3 and 4, due to the disappointing food options. read more

***CASH ONLY*** This place has got to be one of the neatest places I've been to around Illinois! The place is HUGE! Every time we've been there's been live entertainment, good entertainment! Usually always a pretty big crowd here but the bar moves fast! I've never eaten here but the food smells good? Lol. It's a def must see! Awesome Road trip destination. Came out for a Sunday bike run from Western burbs of Chicago with three buddies and my daughter. approx 250 miles R/T. The good: As my daughter said "It's like something out of a movie". Truly unique decor and atmosphere; Road Warrior vibes! Great people watching and the live band was pretty good too. Cool swag for sale. Reasonable bar and food prices. The bad: Not truly bad but the food isn't stellar. Lots of fried options. The burgers are average at best but have a lot of garnishments. The Texas toast is not the garlic kind (bummed out my shorty). Also you order separately from the bar and get a buzzer to let you know when it's ready. IE you have to leave your table/drinks to go get the food. Awesome variety of cheese curds. I had the Cajun. Solid Fries. The ugly: Look for the faint Silo that says BEER. The only other sign is an old Dry Cleaning sign off the road. Gravel and Grass parking. They ran out of PBR! read more

I've seen and heard about this place on social media for quite some time. Kept saying we have to check it out. Finally my brother in laws band played there this past Saturday and we rode out from Channahon. Nice ride out and what a cool place. Love the atmosphere and all the old stuff you see at every turn. They were very busy and like I've seen others comment service was great no long wait for a drink and the bartenders are on the ball. Nice selection of beer we ordered a little food that was good. Cool stage area it was nice seeing the band play there I hope they get invited back. read more

A friend told me of this cool, old grain bin, silo thing that was made into an outside beer garden type bar. So the wife and I jumped on our Victory motercycle and went for a ride to check the place out. 90 miles later we arrived. This place is WAY COOl, what a unique experience! The beers are ice cold and the atmosphere is just cool! They don't take credit or debit cards, just cash and the place is seasonal, as you would expect. I will definitely be back to the Silo. read more

So much fun!! This was my husband's and my first time there, so we didn't know really what to expect. We rode our trike along with our friends on their bike, and my parents met us up there in their car. All kinds of people were there (not just for hardcore bikers!) and everyone was having a blast. Great and quick food (lots of fried stuffs as appetizers/sides, hot sandwiches like burgers, and even filet mignon offered as a dinner for only $16), cheap drinks with fast and friendly bar service, awesome live bands, and fun clothing attire for sale. It's about a 2.5h drive for us but we will definitely be returning! There's not many places to stay nearby if you get a little tipsy, but Peoria is only about an hour away from there, so you could do as we did...have fun at the Psycho Silo for a bit and then head to the boat for some more fun and a place to stay that isn't too terribly far from the Saloon! read more

Love the fact that all ages from 21-70 somethings go here. All different types of people from your townies, yuppies, suburanites, farmer types, biker wanna be's, reg. average to hardcore bikers. Everyone gets along & has a great time. Alot of beautiful bikes. Most of the bands are great but the band The Strangers S-U-C-K-S! PLS don't have them back, otherwise we love this place!:D P.S. PLS! Great destination! Very unique, laid back, cool joint. They're building some new deck for seating hopefully they put a roof on it and get some cooling system in place. & for anyone that's been to Sturgis.. it's a mini Full Throttle, without the side-show. Service was good, prices are good & the staff seemed happy.. 3-day work week, who wouldn't be? Yes this place is open Fri-Sun and Monday Holidays (memorial day, labor day.) We bee-lined 80 there and took the back roads back east. Noice ride! So...Gas up the hot rod or jump on your scooter, you will not be disappointed! read more
