Love this place. I'm a huge fan of whiskey, and love trying the rare stuff when available. Barrel Society has a very large selection, great pricing per dram, and a store towards the back of the building which sells various bottles and beers. Service was solid too. One of the gents behind the bar was very attentive, and liked to geek out on whiskey as much as I do, so it made for a good time. One more thing regarding the selection - everything I picked was in stock, and I don't take this for granted. A number of bars in Chicago boast a huge selection, but your heart gets broken quickly when the barman repeatedly says the selection you've made is out of stock. My husband and I just stopped in tonight on our way to a wedding in Chicago this week! The Cubs were playing and we have tickets to the game tomorrow at Wrigley(we're Padres fans haha but when in Chicago fuck it right). The bartender was amazing!! Made us feel so welcome, even as padres fans haha and even gave us some recommendations for starved rock and Chicago!! Was so fun watching the game and being in that atmosphere! They have really good pop up trucks but do not have a kitchen on site. The bartenders and owner are top notch. They will help you pick your poison. They seriously have so much to chose from that it is just better to ask. I am talking beers, whiskeys, meads, and cocktails. I love the decor. They have outdoor seating as well. It is not terribly big so if there is entertainment, it is better to arrive early. They have a huge selection of take home bottles and brews as well. read more

What a surprise to run across this great craft cocktail bar while visiting family in the middle of no where. I felt like I was at home in Los Angeles, except the prices were more reasonable. We stopped in both days we were in town. They have a large list of craft beers, which I had not seen since arriving in IL. They also have a back room stocked with great craft beer and spirits for to go purchase. My husband had the Manhattan and said it was delicious. I never order a Mai Tai except at my favorite local bar that makes it right without any juice etc. Well, I must say, their version of the Mai Tai was one of the best I have ever had and it's very hard to impress me with a Mai Tai. If you are passing through Princeton, you should stop and visit. Also, the Flour House right next door makes great coffee, house made pastries and bagels. we walked in there and asked if they'll be able to sit 10 people. we wanted to sit outside. In order to do that we had to walk through the bar (no problem) I asked if it's ok if our kids ( two boys under 11) can walk through the bar without masks. we were told YES. We went to order food from the food truck. As I stayed behind and my husband went in to grab the table he was told that we can't sit there (out side) become our boys are under 21!!!! we ASKED BEFORE AND WERE TOLD ITS OK. WILL NEVER GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE we were left sitting on a curve to eat our meal...... we've been to MANY places..... micro breweries ect.... we take our kids everywhere. this is ridicules. as much as I was looking forward spending time and my $$ at Barrel Society Inc. my foot will never be placed at this facility again. and I will make sure to let others know about my experience. read more

I also have to say that they take the pandemic and the safety of their staff AND patrons very seriously, which is definitely reassuring. Also, they have the best selection- hands down. Got to run into Barrel Society this last weekend. I was impressed with the whiskey and beer selection. It seems like the staff knew what was being served and how to sell it to customers. (That's a good thing) I had an Octoberfest that was amazing. Can't wait to bring some more people to try this amazing gem. Nice spot on Main Street in the little town of Princeton. My local in-laws talked about it a few times when I was in town, and had the chance to stop in while the wife was shopping the stores.
