This place was a surprise to us! They were packed on a Saturday night. We had to wait about 45 minutes at 6:30. They do take reservations. The inside was modern and comfortable. The cocktails were good. Closer to urban prices. The potato skins were good with a nice crisp. You re r bread which was all good: sourdough, focaccia and crackers. The spinach salad was also delicious! The prime rib was excellent. You are able to get horseradish if you want. It comes with a side. We tried the garlic mashed and it was the only thing I didn't enjoy for the evening. We tried the walnut custard, was tasty. The chocolate peanut butter dessert was also good, but sweet!

We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Uptown Grill while staying at the Grand Bear resort a few miles away. We celebrated my sister's 40th birthday here, and it felt like a solid place for that experience. We made a reservation, and the restaurant was bustling when we arrived. The host greeted my sister with a happy birthday right away which was nice. The vibe of the restaurant was very nice- clearly updated with lovely lighting. We even had fireworks during dinner due to a festival outside which was fun. We started our meal with a round of cocktails- I had a smores margarita which was good- everyone else enjoyed the apple butter old fashioned. We had the saganaki as our app, and the gents had the French onion and tomato soups. For entrees we had the chicken milanese, a burger, a scallop pasta special, and the broiled whitefish. Of the four, the broiled whitefish was by far the favorite! If we lived in the area I think we would come back for a special occasion. Vibes and service were great!

I was excited to add this restaurant to our roster when coming into town to visit my brother-in-law but unfortunately was sadly disappointed. The ambiance was great - lighting was moody and nicely decorated. Food was actually fine - not incredible with some items better than others. Pleasantly surprised by the seared tuna nachos and felt left wanting more for other items. What made this visit so terrible was the service. Asking for a bit of feedback/opinion between two drinks is something my husband often does at many restaurants domestically and internationally. Our waitress's response was "I don't know that's new and the other one people do order sometimes" with an annoyed tone. After ordering and eating appetizers, we had to ask to place our entree order. The waitress was not attentive and I heavily emphasize NOT. I believe customer service training is needed for her and if her behavior is any indication of the rest of the staff I'd recommend training for all of them. Highly discourage you from trying this place which is unfortunate as this small town doesn't have much to offer. This spot only gets tow stars because of the tuna otherwise this is a strong 1 star establishment at best.

I was in the area and was looking for a good meal. I asked the hotel staff if they recommended a place in particular and they told me about Uptown Grill so I checked it out and I am so happy I did! First of all they have such a nice ambiance inside and they are welcoming from the get go. I was seated in the patio area which I enjoyed with the weather and breeze. My server was kind and attentive throughout my whole dinner. What I had: Entree: Broiled Whitefish Parmesan with mashed potatoes-(oven roasted parmesan crusted whitefish fillet with lemon caper butter) SUCH A DELIGHT. It was so juicy throughout and the flavor was beautiful combined with the Parmesan crust. The mashed potatoes were well made- salted perfectly and creamy. I literally enjoyed every. single. bite. of this!!!!!! I still think of this meal to this day! Drinks: Malibu Bay Breeze- definitely a well made drink- I enjoyed it thoroughly and it accompanied well with my meal. 10/10 recommend this spot- it will not disappoint. I will be coming back to this part of Illinois just to eat here again!

I was part of a business dinner. The dining was full with concert-goers eating and drinking before the show. The grill is very stylishly decorated and is warm and inviting. We had appetizers, salads, seafood, and steaks. The food was as always prepared as ordered and very flavorful.

Which made it a little disappointing when we were asked to move about ten minutes later to accommodate a large group that came and expected 15-20 seats. The cocktail menu had a good variety. I ordered a dirty martini, which was fine but not something I would seek out. The olives were standard olives and, maybe I'm a snob, but I kind of expect a blue cheese or garlic stuffed olive at a place where I'm paying $16 for a cocktail. For my second round, I got a vodka soda, which was exactly what I expected. We ordered french fries and truffle fries, both of which came out quickly. They were crispy and hot, a solid pairing for a dirty martini adventure. I'll definitely come back - I might stick to wine or a more basic cocktail next time - but I loved the vibe.

My group ordered our drinks and waited for around 15 minutes before the server came back out asking for our order once again. My friends all ordered cocktails and I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. The server clearly wasn't sure what Cabernet Sauvignon was since she repeated it back to me as Sauvignon blanc. I corrected her and the cocktails came out, but another server/bartender came out asking what I had ordered. I repeated once again a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. He brought out a glass of white wine. I had to tell him that Cabernet Sauvignon was a red wine, not white, and then finally got the correct drink. It was unfortunately at least 30 minutes of being there and four conversations before I got my drink. All in all, I was pretty disappointed. With the type of bar this place is aiming to be, I wouldn't expect it to be so difficult to get a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

I think they have seats for only 25 people so prepare to stand when it gets busy. Our bartender was Edward and he was really nice. I ordered a Tiramisu Martini and then a Porn Star Martini. They were both good, but I preferred the Porn Star one. We also ordered a Smash Burger, which was actually from Holt's, connected to this bar. That burger was tasty - brioche bun & onions = yum. The chips it came with were crunchy. The Bacon popcorn was good but way too salty for me. Im glad we found this little bar and plan on coming back in the future.

I disagree--I am a Chicago boy and it has a big city hidden gem quality about it. In fact, they promote themselves as a speakeasy. Of course you can get any cocktail you want, but my husband and I both opted for a special strawberry cocktail made with Hendrick's gin. It was refreshing, not too sweet, and garnished with a dehydrated lemon slice. Perfect! Our friends both ordered old fashioned cocktails that looked equally as good. It was a Saturday night and this tiny bar was jam-packed. We had to stand, but it was okay because we had only stopped in for one drink before heading to another restaurant for dinner. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. Prices are not inexpensive, but average to what you'd find in a downtown Chicago restaurant. If you''re looking for a cool place to hang in Park Ridge with a craft cocktail and have a small bite (they have a limited food menu, too), Pines Room is the place.

The drinks were excellent--well-balanced, creative, and clearly made with skill. There was also a live musician performing during my visit who was amazing and added a great atmosphere and really elevated the overall vibe. Service, however, was a mixed experience. One of the bartenders (a newer female bartender) was very friendly, attentive, and showed a lot of potential--she made a great impression despite seeming a bit new. Unfortunately, the other bartender completely brought the experience down. He came across as rude, disengaged, and honestly like he didn't want to be there at all. I understand it was a busy night, but there was very little sense of urgency from him, and wait times felt longer than they should have been--even factoring in the crowd. That said, I do understand everyone can have an off night, and given how good the drinks and atmosphere were (plus the positive reviews I've seen elsewhere), I'd likely be willing to give it another shot. Overall, great cocktails and ambiance, but inconsistent service keeps it from being a top-tier experience--for now. I will be happy to update following a repeat visit.
