Fantastic pizza !! Friendly owner...Sal and his parents. We were staying in Ottawa for the weekend and we asked the front desk clerk for a pizza recommendation. Perfect crust. Generous ingredients. We came back the next day and we had the BEST beef sandwich I've ever had in my life! I would actually drive down here just for the beef sandwich alone! read more

An old favorite of mine since the 80s! This establishment has been in Ottawa since the 1950s and still popular as ever. Thrilled to see they have not changed their recipe. Extremely reasonable prices and tasty, fresh ingredients. Located off of Route 6, and more of a carryout place. They do have some indoor and outdoor seating. We got carryout and just before writing this, I managed to shovel half of a pizza in my mouth. Haha good to see that it is the same pizza I remember enjoying in my youth. My family and I ordered a regular medium cheese pizza with mushroom and half black olives. Extra red sauce on the side. Grand total $16! Whaaaat. Heads up they accept cash or check only. The mozzarella is so gooey stringy yummy. Plenty of sauce on the pie but I like extra. Seasoned perfectly. Picked it up and it was piping hot. Very happy to see this family-owned place is still in business and thriving. read more

By far worth my 30 min drive. People it's cash only and the pizza was on point. Mouthwatering doesn't do it justice. This place by far hands down best pizza around starve rock area. Only downside is it opens till 4pm. Overall service was fast great no problems ordering and the prices aren't crazy. Going to have to dine in one day. I can't say this enough this place if by far a great pizzeria read more

Ordered a large sausage pizza , it was done on time and was very good , I would definitely recommend giving them a shot

Great food worth the wait even on Christmas Eve rush still got an amazing pizza and amazing prices! Service was excellent

At 66 years old I have had many pizzas from Sams. Order is always correct, food is hot and very good and prices are reasonable especially since they dont skimp on toppings. Best Pizza around. read more

My Sister just graduated grade school and for a family party my Mother was ordering cheap $5 hot and ready Pizza. I was not having any of this, what could save the day and my sisters party? Sam's Pizza and their famous beef rolls! For those of you who may not be aware a beef roll is a pizza crust filled with Italian beef and cheese the covered again with another pizza crust and sprinkled with cheese on the top layer of crust! it also comes served with 2 cups of beef broth if you want your meal a little more Juicy. I called ahead which is always a good idea as the wait can become quite long in the evening hours paid my $15.00 (for a small) and scampered off to my parents house there where 8 guests who enjoyed the beef roll and we where all quite satisfied (my mother included). If it was not for the food being a heart attack in a box I would order it more but I like to maintain a healthy life style. I do think next time I order out for a party the beef roll will be on my list of things to buy. read more

Two of us ordered beef sandwiches and garlic bread. They don't serve french fries as they don't have a fryer. Price was decent. Atmosphere was ok more of a fast food feel with lots of family photos. My daughter didn't feel well after eating her sandwich. She was in the bathroom for days. Garlic bread was ok. Beef sandwiches served on toasted garlic bread, so no need to add a side of garlic bread to your order. Noticed food items (maybe sausage) and pizza boxes sitting on floor. read more

Just ordered Friday night on our way to the river. Pizza was ready right on time. Cooked perfect and plenty of ingredients. One of the best pizzas ever. We will be back again. read more

Ate here on 1/2/2022, and what a great way to start the new year like food poisoning. I've been shooting out from both ends and so is everyone else that had dinner. I STRONGLY don't recommend to anyone who doesn't like hugging a toilet 2 minutes after the just had a waterfall come out their butt read more

Great greasy grub. I like Sam's, been going here for years. The crust is thin, the sauce is tangy with a little bit of sweet. Plenty of cheese too. I think they're open pretty late too. Stop by and have a pie, you won't regret it. read more

I highly recommend the beef roll. So amazingly good. Not really a dine-in kind of place, you can, but you grab your can of pop and have a seat at the table and wait till they bring you the mound of goodness. Totally worth it. read more

Pretty decent pizza, it tastes better than it looks. Lots of cheese, the crust is not great, it's very much like a frozen pizza but the quality of the toppings make up for it. It's cash or check only which is a hassle especially these days when anybody with a smartphone can accept credit cards. read more

If you want old fashioned oven baked pizza, this is the place to go. Heaped with ample amounts of cheese and other ingredients, it is one of the best pizzas you will ever have. You will need cash or check, but any inconvenience is well worth it. read more

Very dissatisfied, & disappointed. We just moved here this summer, & last weekend one of our sons brought home a Beef Roll (pizza) that was very goid, with a ton of meat inside. So, this past Friday the 21st if December. we decided to order our 1st Beef Roll pizza. Got 3/4 Cheese, one thing layer of pizza. Not the same!! Bought this because we were going out if town with our grandchildren. No one in our party was happy! We were left with $20 of product uneaten! Husband asked politely when we got back in town if they could help us. As definite "No", that is SAD customer service. We won't waste our money again on buying a "Beef" product & getting a Cheese one. "Good Customer Service" makes for return a customers!!!!! read more

Excuse my French.....but this pizza f*cking rocks!!! Its crisp crust, cheese, homemade sausage, right down to the hot sauce is the best.

I'm from Chicago. I travel here for work purposes a few times a year. I will always order my pizza from another location. But after trying this place I won't go back there. Thank you. your pizza is delicious. read more

Sam's you have inspired me to write my first yelp review. You have given away my pizza to someone else for last time. You said "30min" on the phone- I was there in 29 - and you gave my pizza away "to someone you knew" before i got there - and then gave me a smaller pizza instead. It was cold btw. Then you said i could wait for another small pizza to make up the difference....Like another 20 minutes. Thanks, but no thanks. I won't be back. I only go to Sam's because service at Bianchi's is so bad. read more

Many years ago, I lived in Ottawa and frequented Sam's and Alphano's because they had the best pizza. So I was anticipating getting pizza from one of them. It was recommended to me to go to Sam's. Big mistake. The pizza was one of the worst I have had in years. I ordered a thin crust pizza. The crust was soggy and not thin at. It had way too much sauce (so much the cheese slide off when you went to eat it. There was very little in the way of toppings and the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. The cheese was good.. I would never go there again. Not like I remembered it at all. read more

When you only take cash in the 21st century, you automatically lose 2 stars. Second, canned soda is a scam. You do not get value when there is no fountain drinks. But I'm guessing the owners make more money. Cool. We've had friends rave about this place, so we decided to try it. Not impressed. I would rather have Little Caesars. I'm a sauce person, put some pizza sauce on your pizza! Come on man. read more

This is the second best pizza place in Ottawa! (R-Grotto is still in the lead). Sam's Pizza serves great stuffed Chicago-style pizza and is a great place to go for pizza. Sam's Pizza deserves every single star of this review for their outstanding service, lively and enjoyable atmosphere, and, of course, great tasting pizza. They deserve a five star review. read more

Sams has a great taste, not a sweet pizza, more of your classic style. Family owned and iconic in the community so it has that small town feel and personality. Beef roll there is probably the best in the 815 hands down. read more

Not bad thin crust pizza. We opted for sausage. The crust was tougher than expected. Pretty busy on a Fri nite. We waited a half hour for the pie. Reminds me of Aurelio's pizza up in Chicagoland. read more

Great pizza, the deep dish rocks!! The beef roll is excellent. For a awesome dessert try the cinnamon sticks!! Vince is da man

Living in Ottawa for 20+ years and they still have the best beef roll in town. Their cheese bread is also cheap and very filling! My friends used to all chip in and get a few orders (they are actually like small pizzas) of cheese bread! Highly recommended if you want good pizza in the area. read more

Outstanding!!! A local favorite, perfect crust, great cheese, the beef rolls are out of this world!

Ottawa is divided between those who love Sam's Pizza and those who love Biannci's. I throw my love to Sam. Of course it could be the Beef Rolls and the to die for Itialian Beef and the thin crust pizza. However when you come to Ottawa, try both pizza's and see which side you fall on. read more

my absolute favorite pizza in ottawa. beats bianchi's by a mile, and r grotto comes in a close second, because of their nuggets. sam's is cheap and delicious. sauce is on the sweet side, crust is just right and TONS OF CHEESE! great place. can take a while for your order, but it's worth it. i think they deliver but i always go to pick up my pizza, as ottawa is not a large town and it only takes 5 mins to get anywhere. only gripe is they weren't open one sunday for lunch, when we were having a birthday party and needed pizza. :( read more
