Ok peoples...so yesterday I randomly felt like treating my son and myself to dinner. And I will say Mike's American did not disappoint. Soon as you walk in through the revolving door, you are greeted with a wood fire grill aroma that makes your sense of smell scream omg what is that and I'll take 2 please. There was no wait time, we were instantly seated at a small both for two. And yes the seats are comfortable. I would have loved to be seated next the the staircase because it has some nice sight lines. The restaurant is so clean and nicely decorated as if you stepped into a homey yet lux cabin restaurant. It just feels....comforting. There were a lot of people dining here but the noise level was surprisingly minimal. The service is impeccable. Every waiter was attentive. Someone even asked us if we wanted another drink when our glasses were full. Never in my life has that happen to me. Lol The server was very knowledgeable about everything and left me to decided between all the wonderful options they offer. And they have OPTIONS. I heard the steak is banging. I'll be back... Now let's talk about these Ozzie dinner rolls. Bomb! End of story. And in my Nike voice....Just do it. In other words stuff your face and get some to go. I got blessed with 2 baskests and a bag to go. Won't he do it. My son enjoyed his little Mac aka his burger and fries but was too full to finish the fries because he stuff his face with Ozzie dinner rolls. So be careful yall. You have been warned. I orderer the pecan trout which was a very interesting take on baked fish and yet it was still good. I'm not raving about it. But it was good. Nice thing is they give you to pieces of trout 1 for now and 1 for later because yes I stuffed my face with those darn Ozzie rolls. Smh I had my eyes set on that deep dish apple pie and I shall return to try it and other menu items..like that banging steak. My leftovers hit the spot. I had enough for a whole lunch the next day. Saved me extra resources. Everything tasted even better the next day. Like the seasoning settled in and exploded into deliciousness. Peoples I say this with love...Don't come here because I don't want yall taking up all the free parking spaces available. Lol this is my new go to spot.
Yummmmm! You absolutely must start with their little sweet biscuits, I ate those in record time. The crab cakes were good size, flavorful, and FULL of crab! The steak was also flavorful and good size. My boyfriends favorite thing here is the chocolate waffle!
Another solid restaurant in the Great American Restaurant chain. Mike's is located in Springfield. They have their own parking lot but it gets consistently full. You can park at the shipping strip across the street. Menu at Mike's hasn't changed for quite some time but entrees are solid. Daily specials does offer different kinds of fish. Steak comes with salad and are tasty. GAR restaurants prepare the best salmon I ever had. Cooked to your liking and never fishy. There's a nominal charge of $1 for the bread basket but this is well worth it as their Ozzie rolls are amazing.
Love the Great American restaurant group! Mike's is always a banger. Absolutely packed house. Don't mind waiting because it's worth it! Always get the ribeye and keep the Ozzie rolls coming! Fantastic service, delicious food, local brews. Something for everyone.
My s/o and I are big fans of Mike's American for their consistency in their food and service. We probably come here at least once a month. The actual restaurant feels massive but decorated in a rustic way. I want to give a huge shout out to Alicia. She is such a knowledgeable, approachable, and receptive server. She was on top of refilling drinks, making sure we weren't left alone for too long when we were waiting for our food to come, and just had an overall amazing energy. While we really enjoy all of the servers we've had at Mikes, Alicia takes the cake. If there's any way to provide her with recognition, I would highly vouch for it. She could sell me anything on that menu with that kind of personality! Thank you, Alicia! I'm going to make sure we try to get seated at your table again.
I visited Mike's American after coming across it on Resy and was able to get a same-day reservation for two on Easter Sunday. As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.
There's a long wait but there's a reason why there's a long wait! The food is great and the service is also great. Let's start with a good , the food! The options are definitely somewhat the same but in different options if that makes any sense. They're still a plethora of different styles of food options to choose from! You can't go wrong with the starter bread as well, give Texas roadhouse a run for its money! The medium , it's fairly expensive, but I think it's pretty good for all that you get! The bad, parking! Parking is very hard to get you're gonna have to do some creative thinking when it comes to parking and a little bit of jaywalking haha! Overall, the space is spacious. You don't feel like you're on top of each other even though there's many people there.

We were immediately seated - no reservation on a Monday night around 7pm. Food was on point and service was excellent. It was my birthday and I enjoyed every moment of it.
I came here with some friends for lunch during December 2025 on a weekday. I did not realize how popular they would be. There is plenty of seating within the restaurant (two levels with an elevator and centrally located open staircase), but not enough parking when they are bus. Like some of the other reviews, I definitely recommend parking at the shopping center across the street unless you are feeling lucky. However, there are no immediate crosswalks...so be prepared to run/powerwalk with caution. During the holidays, the place was wonderfully decorated. It can be a bit crowded for really large parties. I definitely recommend making a reservation. The staff was professional and were accommodating for us - they provided extra plates/bowls for some of us who wanted to split an entree. The also took a great photo for us. Service was great overall; however, the timing was a bit off. I would've expected them to serve everyone's entrees at the same time. However, some members of the party had to wait a little longer for their food to be served. Somewhat understandable given how busy they were, but it still fell a little below my expectation. While here, we had to start off with the Ozzie Rolls. The bread and accompanying honey butter was so yummy. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. My friend and I ended up ordering the Lobster Bisque Soup and either the Drunken Rib Eye or the 5 Star Reserve Rib Eye Steak to share (photos showed only half of the serving). The Lobster Bisque Soup was yummy and hit the spot (especially with how cold it was). There's the saying that the meat speaks for itself...the Rib Eye Steak spoke to me. It just melted in my mouth and I savored every bite. In addition with the portion size, this dish was definitely worth the price. I definitely recommend coming here for a meal. It also seems great for date nights.
I love this place!!! I've been here no less than 10x and have never had a negative experience. I'm writing about their consistency overall and my latest meal. A place like Mikes is always busy so it's best to make a reservation. I had one for 7pm and we were seated by 7:15. I had: Raspberry lemon drop - 10/10 - no notes Bread basket - 10/10 - this is a must whenever you go to mikes, even if you don't eat bread you must make an allowance when coming here. Calamari - 10/10 - the serving size is always good and the texture of the calamari paired with fried onions and the richness of the sauce. If I believed in a good or bad place, this is how I would know I'm in the good one. Half young chicken - 10/10 - served with mashed potatoes, corn salsa and a brown butter sauce this meal was literally perfect. The cold from the salsa was a great contrast in temperature and texture with the chicken and the mashed potatoes. My only regret is not asking for more butter sauce and salsa to go with my leftovers. Some of my favorites from previous visits: Tex Mex Eggrolls Bacon Cheeseburger Short smoked salmon - the mustard sauce is insane It's always busy inside so it's not a place for quiet conversation BUT if you have some salacious tea it's so loud in here you can get away with it hahaha. Parking is going to be your biggest hurdle here but if you show up after operating hours, the bank next door offers additional parking.
Mikes is one of the faves for a quick bite with good food. I sat at the bar so the service was great. The food came out in a reasonable time. The oysters with the salad was great.
Mike's American is one of my favorite spots in the area for a few reasons but tonight missed the mark. One of the reasons is the service is always on point. Our server tonight really didn't care about giving us the experience. She was inattentive and seemed like this was a job she really didn't care about. Second is the food although was still good, it was cold. My baked potato was obviously not a freshly baked one because it was not on top and cold in the middle. Well not really cold but very obvious temperature differences. Anyway, I will not trash the place because in the several times I've been here, this was the one time it was subpar. Hopefully a better experience if I come back.

Mike's American is literally one of my favorites! Can't believe this is my first time ever giving them a review after so many visits over the years but this review is a must. Huge shout out to ALL their staff 8/29/24 working when they lost power, they had their recovery look like a breeze as if nothing even happened. Extremely impressive to still so calm and collective in the mist of a storm. read more

Mikes American, your food is good however parking is a NIGHTMARE. Yes, they have "additional parking" but it's the inconvenience of being across the street. If there is some way they can add a parking lot- that would be great. Food: We were greeted by our server who asked if we would like bread and drinks, we opted for waters but asked for bread basket which he brought out the fried rolls. For entree, we decided on ribeye's. I got the drunken ribeye with the sides that came with & my boyfriend got the regular ribeye with same sides that came with. I asked for Medium, and it was given to me Medium Well. The steak was slightly tough not sure if it was that particular cut or what. The sauce was tasty and the salad was a good side to have with it. No complaints, other than parking but would return to try other menu items read more

This restaurant is very big. There was two floors to eat at - so if you're meeting a group, know where they're sitting before you're looking for them all over the place like I did. We sat at the bar and our server, Dougy, was spectacular! I asked for a recommendation for a fruity tasty drink that packed a punch and the raspberry vodka drink hit the spot. We also had the Tex mex egg rolls and I had the hanger stick which is available on Wednesday's and Thursdays. My only complaint with my food was that my steak was overcooked. It trended more towards medium well-well done, instead of medium. However, the attentive and quick service made up for it. read more

Oh hey Mike! I'm extremely grateful for my partner in crime. When you have a foodie best friend you get to visit the BEST restaurants. Mike's is similar to Patsy's in Tyson's so I already knew what was going down. Fried Oysters - Beau loves him some oysters! They were so so yummy! The Salmon was to die for, the wood grill taste is everything! I typically don't eat too many starches (besides bread) but the potatoes were YUMMY! My Beau got the pork chop, he shared (love him for that) and it was delicious! Drinks were awesome! Infamous Ozzie rolls were so good, smiled the whole time eating every single one of them. Yup, this is my Beaus favorite and I know why! It's my favorite too! read more

This a one of the new places I can't find anything negative to say. If I had to find something it would have to be that they are too good so it's always crowded. Saw the reviews and photos that mad Mikes looks great so decided to come by for dinner early evening on a Saturday. The parking lot is rather small and every space was taken. The overflow parking is on the shopping center lot across the street. After experiencing Mikes I can see why they are so popular. I would definitely recommend having a reservation if you are going to come. I made one and when I arrived I was immediately seated/ The friendly waiter came by to quickly take drink orders and provided a few recommendations. For an appetizer the firecracker shrimp was what we decided on. They were tasty with a little spicy kick but not overwhelming. I don't handle spicy well so I was pleasantly surprised that I could eat them with no problem. For the email course I had the Crab Cake & 7 oz filet. Steak was cooked a perfect medium. It was tender and delicious. Crab cake was good not a Maryland style like I am used to but not bad. The best part was the staff. They kept everything running smoothly and had ample people to keep everyone served properly. The ambiance is trpical American fair. read more

Mike's American is one of my favorite restaurants in Alexandria and never lets me down on taste and quality. Came here with a party of two on Father's Day. I anticipated that the restaurant may be really busy due to the holiday so I made sure to make reservations. After we checked in, we were quickly sat with no issue. While I have tried various items on the menu and everything is delicious, I do have my go to's that I can suggest to anyone visiting for the first time. Firstly, get the bread. It's delicious and worth it. Secondly, the spinach dip or the blue crab balls are amazing. For entrees, I always get the smoked salmon dish with the mashed potatoes. It is always delicious and never lets me down. Parking can be a little bit of an issue. While the restaurant is huge, the size of the parking lot is not equal to it. I highly recommend coming for any occasion! read more
Just WOW!!! The food, service, and ambiance was amazing!!! This is part of the great American chain restaurants. So there's similar items on the menu. I will say this is by far one of my favorites out of the others. This place is huge! They have a baseball theme going, yet it's super classy looking. We ordered the: Salad with a warm crusted cheese, cranberries, and walnuts 10/10 Crab Cake & 5 oz Filet Mignon 10/10 Ribeye 9/10 Overall, super delicious and I will definitely be back. They gave great portions, the price wasn't too terrible, and food quality was superb. read more

Wow! wow! Every aspect of this restaurant was on point!! When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. We were a Party of four. Everyone ordered something a little different. And all enjoyed their meals. I definitely enjoy the raspberry lemon drop I look forward to coming to this restaurant again and trying something different . I loved how they had an open kitchen . I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE!! From beginning to end the experience was amazing. The customer service of each person was absolutely flawless and comfortable. I made reservations online same day I wanted to come in and it was no hassle, I do recommend reservations because this place was super busy and constantly flowing with people. Even with all the people everything was still a smooth experience. There was no wait for food to come out, drinks were absolutely delicious & my server Matt was knowledgeable, friendly and even paid attention to my online profile of "shellfish allergy" so i was pleased to see that they actually pay attention to customers allergies and request. Heads up, the parking lot can be a little crowded so you may have to lap a few times before getting a spot, but overall the restaurant was a 10/10 food, drinks, service, decor I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING read more
Maybe the best ribs in the DMV?? Literally fall off the bone, super tender, and tons of flavor. Crispy fries went well with it. Place is always busy and it would be nice if there was a bigger parking lot. Bigger menu than expected for a place that does meat so well. Bread comes out quick and hot. Prices are VERY fair for the top tier quality. Looks like an average American restaurant from the outside but the food is anything but average. read more

Found out about this place on instagram and had to give it a try and I must say I was very impressed! I did attend with a small group and we had reservations. The restaurant had a different levels but each level was pretty full so I definitely would suggest you make reservations. Now to the food, everything was well seasoned and tasted fresh. I had the salmon well done paired with a caesar salad, mash potatoes and it had some house made chips on top. It was one of the best pieces of salmon I have had from a restaurant in a while. We also had crab cakes which was also delicious. For dessert we tried the bread pudding and I don't even care for bread pudding but this right here OMG amazingly delicious !! It was so good I would ride back just for that. I definitely recommend this spot and can't wait to try it again ! read more

A bit of a drive from DC but plenty of parking. One of the best steakhouses in the area for the quality and value. Overall we paid $182 for three people not including tip. Which in my opinion is on the cheaper side. That also included a bottle of red wine. We each ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and our stakes were cooked medium rare. Loved them! Great service & friendly atmosphere. Will be back! read more

We happened to come across Mike's on our way back from visiting friends in Stafford. We had no idea it was part of the Great American chain until I saw the Ozzie rolls on the menu. Honestly it was a welcome surprise. We started with the warm goat cheese and spiced pecan salad. It was so good that we got a second one. Highly recommend ordering one because the cheese and dressing are amazing. I ordered the drunken rib eye and it was really good. It said it was marinated in beer. It also came with mushrooms and potatoes. My girlfriend ordered the filet and crab cake and both were very delicious as well. I also ordered a Mike's lager and their in house lager was better than any normal chain lager. The service was awesome. Our waiter was funny and on top of whatever we needed. He was good at checking in on us and getting us whatever we asked about. The ambiance is very American. It has a lot of sports memorabilia on the walls. Some of it signed by the legends themselves. It was super cool to see and added a different touch to the aesthetic. They also have a bakery across the street that they advertised at the entrance. I suggest trying Mike's if you haven't. It lives up to the reputation of the great American chain. read more
I read the glowing TripAdvisor reviews and Mike's American lived up to it's hype. We loved it. The place is brilliantly designed, very large but it's broken up in such a way, with terraced levels, 2 floors open in the center, 2 open kitchens. Many of the tables are booths... the place is impressive! The food is also impressive, Everything we had was excellent. Tried their own Great American Pale Ale... really great. Tex Mex Spring Rolls a great app to share. Rockfish was a special, very good. The Chicken Tenders were perfect... great batter and fresh tender white meat. Highly recommend the Deep Dish Apple Pecan Pie w Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert, amazing. Service was friendly and efficient... what else would you expect when everything else they do is so enjoyable. Good service & plenty of food! Mike's is a great, popular staple for years in the Springfield/Fairfax Va suburbs.. Great entrance and top notch service that's uniquely different than your typical restaurant as well. Our appetizer was mistakenly not placed so the manager comped it and still brought it out. Great customer service. The food is amazing. The drunken steak was so flavorful. This place offers bread baskets and the bread mini rolls/balls are the best. We ordered Crab Cakes, Drunken Ribeye Steaks, Hamburger, and Jambalaya. Along with Hpuse and Cesar salads, that were so fresh. The crab cakes were the best tasting. They were well fried and big portions too. The steaks were the highlight of the night and outstanding. They were tender, juicy, cooked to perfection as specified.....and the most flavorful-seasoned steaks you can get at a restaurant. Mike totally delivered and did not disappoint. The restaurant is huge with two levels and plenty of parking. The vibe is casual, chill and laid back. I took my family to dinner for my hubby's birthday and MA did not disappoint. Excellent service and the food was outstanding. I was stuffed! Our kids ordered the kids chicken tenders with fries, no surprise. I ordered the filet mignon and crab cake and my hubby ordered the drunken ribeye. I also ordered the wedge salad, firecracker shrimp and hubby ordered a salad. Everything was great, no complaints. The ambiance is nice but you feel comfortable bringing kids. read more

All I can say is wow! I received fantastic service from Cortez! I asked for recommendations and he promptly gave me his personal favorites. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful drunken ribeye. I paired it with his recommendation of the High Seas IPA. Fantastic both! The steak was perfectly cooked and it melted in my mouth! The best steak I've had out in a long time. I wish I was a local I would definitely be back! Thank you Cortez for you generous hospitality and recommendations! As usual, never disappointed. Before I get started, I must shout out our amazing server Demetria! My date gave her a big thumbs up and she absolutely made our night. Mike's is always on point for service and amazing ambiance. Not my first time here, but it was for my dinner companion. Always my first choice... Anywhoo, we started with the oyster salad (not pictured) and those Ozzie rolls. There was no time for pics. Oyster were fresh and plump. Just perfection. Perfectly balanced with the bright green salad with blue cheese. The ROLLS?! Hot and tender... with the whipped creamy butter( again, too good not able to picture!) His Penne was in his words, the best and well worth every bite. My Bacon Cheeseburger, well if you know you know. I like the food at Mike's but it is way too noisy - for a classy restaurant it seems Mike's mgmt does care about ambiance (lighting & low noise). So when would be the best time to visit Mikes and also have low noise?

Mike's does not have a brunch; however, all menu items are available similar to other days
Why does this place list "vegan options" when the only vegan options are a salad, and a few vegetable sides? When people are looking for restaurants that have vegan options, they are looking for the option of at least 1, but preferably 2 entrees?
Because they sell entree salads and technically those are vegan options some vegans might actually enjoy . The restaurant is known for their steak entrees so when looking it up for places to eat, maybe look up the background as well.
Are dogs allowed in the outdoor seating area?
