Mike is the man. His team is incredible. He did cameras at our entire new house wired without having to drill new holes internally (used everything in the walls). Clearly more sophisticated than other quotes I got and other people who could only tell us to do WiFi cameras. He also did an amazing family room speaker system with a hidden mini amplifier behind the TV instead of routing everything to our server closet (because this wasn't an option). I have a home automation system through ClareHome and they escalated a repair case to Mike. I contacted him on 1/27 and was able to setup an appointment for a tech to come check my ClareHome controller, Ie. The hub for my home automation, on 2/4. A tech came out on that date and checks and confirms it's not any of the cables so obviously it's the control unit that they as installers have to issue a RMA for to get a replacement unit. The story goes downhill from here. Like way down. I call the office to check on the status of the controller replacement on 2/8, get the run around, they'll see. Ok leave messages and talk to the office for status probably x2 a week. Office has two same dudes who field a the calls, I know there's two because one of my them tells me on calls that there's another person fielding calls also and one always says it's the "other one" who I last talked to or who let me down by not returning my calls after they say "I'll talk to Mike and call you in 5min/30min/tomorrow morning" and they NEVER call you back no matter how many times you talk to the office - wait pin that they did call me back at the end of this story. 2/18 I text Mike I don't get any info from the office or call backs. He text back that he'll call the office. Office never calls me. I call and leave voicemails 2/24 text Mike again saying I keep calling the office and leaving voicemails but no replies or answers. (Maybe the office is just ducking me or maybe they just suck at their job...) I call and finally talk to a person, they received the ClareController replacement "last night" so they have it but just need to schedule me. Ok when can I get scheduled? You guessed it "let me see what we have open and call you right back" no callback. 2/26 text Mike again about no office responses and he says he they're trying and they're just a little backed up More calls and voicemails left. Finally someone picks up and I explain what's going on. They said they're aware of and trying to book me but the soonest available is 2 weeks out. I say fine I'll take it, I've already been waiting this long. I say what date can I get on the calendar? "Oh sorry I can't book you yet because our system doesn't let me book farther than two weeks out". I say that makes no sense, if you can't book farther than two weeks out then just have me be the next date/appointment in the system. The office worker says he knows the system is crazy and just laughs it off... you guessed it again he said I'll call you back Monday. No callback. I call back Tuesday to give it another day. No answers. Voicemails left. 3/1-3/9 keep calling. No answers. Leaving Voicemails begging to setup an appointment. I text Mike and beg him to setup an appointment or get his office to follow up. I get a callback yesterday on 3/9 4:40pm. "hi mikes concluded at this time he can't take your job" What the hell? This is so unprofessional. I tell the office worker this isn't fair and I've talked to him or the other office worker and left voicemails and this dude says "there's many of us in the office it wasn't me you've talked to, I don't know who has failed to call you back or return your calls" yea f#%kin right!!!!... you just happen to have the same voice. You have been playing games why if you didn't want to do the job didn't you just tell ClareHome you didn't want to do the repair replacement over a month and a half ago?!? "I'll pass message onto Mike." I hang up, call ClareHome and complain about my experience. ClareHome support guy on the phone recognizes my voice, I've talked to him on 2-3 occasions and he's shocked by the story. He says "but we sent them a replacement unit back weeks ago..." I tell him I know and that they told me they had received it but I can't do crap if they won't come out and bring the unit. Mind you all you do is plug in this little white box into a LAN port, log into it and reconfigure the Z-wave automation devices back to the unit. I work in tech and I said just send me a unit and I can do the work... problem is only installers have the credentials to log into the installer portal to re-register the née hardware. ClareHome is working on getting me an installer who isn't full of lies and fake promises and who I hope won't drag me around because they won't commit. If you've ever wondered what's worse then bad work? Trying to get any work for weeks and effort calling with no response or decency and finally getting turned away because they won't own up and have no professionalism. One of the worst Control 4 dealer you will ever come across. Mike is absolutely unprofessional and if you point this to him, his response is go to another dealer. Makes appointment and never shows up to the job. When you call repeatedly as you are at home waiting for him he will say to call office instead. Office is just voicemail with no one to pick phone. For him it seems about a big new order else he will keep ignoring you and then keep pushing your appointment out. No one calls from his office to reschedule. we have been taken in circles for over 2 weeks and no one turns up to do the job. I hired them to set up my house speaker system and camera system about 2 years ago and they did a relatively good job but were a bit pricey. I hired them anyway through a referral. The system setup isn't as user-friendly as I'd like but it works. I haven't had any issues since the initial setup but recently I contacted Mike to ask him for help in fixing my sound system that he set up. He didn't wire the house so I don't blame him for any of that but he quoted me $250 to just send someone to check it out and I thought that was a bit excessive. I tried to negotiate down and said I'd pay for the service to fix my sound system. He said $250 or I can't send someone out so I said no worries thanks anyway. After spending a ton of money with them, I thought Mike would be a little more helpful with the quality of work they do. I don't expect him to send a technician out for free but price gouging a current client is ridiculous. read more

We paid $36,000 for a sound and security system for anew duplex. The security system does not work nearly as well as Ring which only costs less than 10% of what we pay Mike Tech. It's not user friendly, technologically inferior and the picture quality is much worse. Also, took over 2 months before Mike Tech came out to show us how the system works. Failed to show up for appointment due to broken truck when I had to have tenants waiting there as well as 2 hours of round trip driving for me. Use another service or try Ring.
