We recently bought a house that had been completely remodeled. A lot of work had been done, but the place was not wired for Internet. No ports in the walls. Spectrum will only do the work if you're going to attach a Spectrum piece of equipment to the line. So I got them to install a modem, but I wanted ports installed in other rooms as well. That's where Total Home WiFi came in. Adam and Chris did a walkthrough, and after discussing the options, they gave a fair quote. They did the work in one day, installing ports in four rooms, and two WiFi booster hubs at the ends of the house. They also set up security cameras on the outside of the property. When I was having issues with the security system, they came back to address the problem, even offering me free equipment for the inconvenience. Everything works great now. read more

My WiFi before with other companies was not fast and didn't reach all the places in the house. Found Adam on Yelp and so glad I did! I like to think of my computer, a Dell D410, as 'vintage' but in computer years the box is a senior citizen (5.5 years old & counting, baby). However, I love the damn thing. It's lighter than most laptops at 3.8 lbs and has proven nearly indestructible, surviving multiple falls and spills over the years. Suffice to say, I was completely bummed out when the laptop's hinges finally snapped. I called around and received estimates of around $150 just for parts. Now, I may be girly but I'm not a total idiot. I ordered the hinges ($14, including shipping) from ebay. I then bought a few screwdrivers and set about opening up the machine myself. An examination of the Dell manual and a glance at the laptop's insides told me this was a waaay more complicated endeavor than installing RAM. I needed help. This was when I found Adam. Not only did he offer me a completely fair rate, but the entire process was pain free. I called Adam around 1pm, dropped my laptop off a couple hours later. He did what turned out to be the rather complicated installation of the hinges (my system is pretty strange and the internal speaker system had actually been pierced by the old hinge) and also vacuumed all the dust and crumbs and crap out of my computer. I got an email when he was done and picked up my computer the same day. When I picked it up, Adam went over what he did, going over minor issues with the machine in a very friendly and thorough way. He was polite, communicative, reliable, and efficient and his work is excellent and fantastically priced. Above and beyond, people... above and beyond. Boy oh boy was I in a pickle :( I downloaded what I THOUGHT was an update for my HP (never buy an HP product!) from the HP website... but it turned out that said update... flashed my BIOS! I'm no computer genius (Adam of C-WTF is) but I spent about 10 hours trying to research a solution and another 2 on the phone with HP, only to find myself with an expensive piece of plastic taking up space on my desk. :( Weeks later I decided to yelp for some help, I talked to several people but my impression of ALL of them was that they where trying to steal my money. Then I found computersWTF. First off, a guy called Adam recommended a company that specialized in fixing BIOS but I was so sick of talking to people that I asked him if he would give it a try. He agreed! Yes! Sweet! A few days later... MY COMPUTER WAS LIKE BRAND NEW! I'm not kidding, Adam fixed it! He even told me where to download a better anti-virus program for free! Cool, That just saved me $50 bucks a year. BUT Now for the really unbelievable part. He rounded my bill DOWN even when it took longer than expected, because it was such a hard job... hahaha the guy actually likes fixing challenging computer problems. What's more, as a courtesy and because he was going to be in the neighborhood, he delivered my computer back to my house to save me the trouble of having to come pick it up! WTF???!!! Look no further - if I could give Total Home Wifi 6 stars, I would. I found them via Yelp and read the reviews - Adam and Chris are amazing. I wanted my whole property (house, garden and another building) covered by the same wifi login. They assessed the property and came up with a few options, with no pressure to over spend. Their installation went extremely well, as they are punctual and tidy. They are friendly, courteous and explained everything very well. They also dealt with my internet provider to ensure I was getting what I was paying for and made sure it was working well with their hardware. They also set up the system so that they could, if needed, check and manage the system remotely. On a couple of occasions I have called them when there might have been a problem - every time they get back to me extremely quickly and solve the issue. Yes, indeedy, Adam is as good as it gets. I contacted him to get his opinion on an upgrade for my Mac and he gave me his opinion via email, free of charge, with no guarantee that he would get the job. Then, he set a date and followed up with me, made himself available to do my upgrade, rearranged his schedule when it appeared that the upgrade would not go smoothly because of a defective hard drive, directed me to the closest place so I could get a replacement drive, installed it immediately, and gave me a discount on his time since the defective drive wasn't my fault. And the best part was that while I waited for my computer, he suggested I grab a bite nearby at The Oaks Gourmet, where I discovered that duck in a salad is even better than chicken. I chose to do the install of my operating system myself to save some money and Adam followed up with me to make sure things went smoothly. I ran into a full system crash on my PC laptop and after during some research online came across ComputersWTF on yelp. I must agree the positive reviews are spot on. Adam was very helpful, upfront, and honest in his help and rates. It cost me $225 for a full system restore and data backup plus the price of a new hard drive, which I bought on my own per Adam's suggestion. He even gave me a $75 yelp discount. Sorry I didn't review sooner. Several weeks ago I was in the middle of a move and my laptop stopped booting up. Why do these things only happen at the worst possible time LOL? Anyway, in desperation, I called Adam (Computers WTF) and he actually returned my call promptly (on a Sunday). He was able to give me an accurate diagnosis over the phone and turned me on to a source where I got a great price on replacement battery and power cord. I certainly can't promise he'll do this for anyone else, but Adam didn't charge me for his advice. He said it was such a clear fix and something he didn't have time to do that day, but didn't think he should charge for it since he was referring me elsewhere. I've known Adam now for a little over 2 years. I always knew that he was an upstanding, honest, trustworthy, dependable, and responsible guy. But I didn't really know how much of a whiz he was at computers, until I bought my first Mac. I had worked on a little PC laptop for a few years, and had accumulated many photos, documents for work, and many other things. I bought my Mac, with the intent on having Adam come by and do a transfer of these things to my new Mac. Adam is great. I called him tonight desperate for help because my computer kept freezing (even in safe mode) and at times it would freeze even pre-boot. I've always fixed troubleshooted my own pc for 10+ years now (Google is my friend). However, I was really desperate and needed a quick fix since I telecommute and had some work due the next day. He gave me over the phone support (told me how to get my CMOS battery out) and even followed up in order to make sure that I was ok. I discovered later on that it was actually faulty memory that was making my pc acting up and it looks like everything is working again. I'm really impressed with the excellent support which was free. Where has Chris been all my life? I was about to leave on a 1-month business trip when my computer started acting up (freezing, going into safe mode, high pitched whine). I'd seen the WTF truck driving around my neighborhood and of course checked out the Yelp reviews before giving the business a call. They answered promptly and arrived on time as promised. Two hours later Chris had my somewhat aging desktop acting like a younger generation computer. It's 2x as fast, I swear. The problem? I hired Total Home Wifi to fix what a developer left out of our house in Los Feliz. When we bought the home the builder did a great job with the plumbing, electrical and everything else you would find in a modern home... except wiring for data and music. He put a few speakers in the ceiling and wired them back to a closet. Problem was it was all wrong. Total home wifi came in and got the home office wired so our network printer now works beautifully, we got wifi throughout the home that works. And, most importantly for me, they set up my Sonos music system everywhere with in ceiling speakers where we wanted them and tied in the Sonos sound bar in the family room and set up two TVs. They helped me cut the cord with Spectrum by setting me up with Apple TVs and all the streaming services I could want. They knew there stuff. They were in and out in a few days. Everyone was clean and respectful. It all works (I would not be quiet if it didn't) and its been 6 months. I have been through this with other companies in my previous home and it was not as easy. I talked to 3 companies. They were not the cheapest, but they seemed smart, and the cheap guy kept trying to up-sell me which made me not trust him.
