Hot & Spicy Pasta Primavera
Maegan B.

I came in with some friends for a lateish lunch and everything we had was really good. I've been here several times but it's been a while so it's nice to see they've remained keeping good quality. We shared a tray of charbroiled oysters, and they're amazing. I split the pasta primavera with someone and it was so good, that's what I've gotten in the past and it's always been good. We also split the mikes special, the shrimp dish and it was good too. Service was great and we had a great time! Press and hold to react USIAN

Absolutely delicious!! Service was great. We were in New Orleans for the week and had to make a trip to Gonzalez just to eat here. It's that good!! The restaurant is always welcoming, locals, tourists, business folk, fishermen, ladies who lunch all eating here tells you all you need to know!!

Came here for a family gathering right after Christmas. Place was packed! We made reservations so we were seated right away, towards the back. The place was decorated beautifully for the holiday. We were served promptly. We got a couple different appetizers including the bread and the gator bites. The bites were super yummy. The bread hot and fresh, but a touch heavy on the garlic. We also tried the spinach and artichoke dip which was very tasty. I had the grilled chicken with veggies and a loaded baked potato. The potato was awesome! The chicken was ok, and the veggies were ok as well. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, which was a plus! We skipped dessert as everyone was full.

The highlight for us was the waiter! He provided amazing service. The food was ok. The chicken gumbo and gator bites were delicious. We enjoyed the small chargrilled oysters but the bbq oysters wasn't a hit for us.

The service was good especially during the busy lunch hour! My husband and I ordered hamburger steaks with twice baked potato and to our surprise, it came with vegetables, and a side salad plus garlic bread! Way too much food for lunch so very generous portions! The restaurant is roomy and clean with white tablecloths. Yes, I recommend this place.

The best char-grilled oysters I've had were from Mike Anderson's. Fantastic food and great service. Pretty upscale, love the fish tank too.

The bathrooms are clean even if one of the doors doesn't latch well. We tried the chocolate Bavarian cream stuffed beignets and the regular beignets and the cafe au lait. The beignets are the best I had anywhere. They were a nice size and they were light and fluffy and covered in powdered sugar. The cafe au lait was just ok, I think we liked it better the cafe au lait mixed half and half with the French roast coffee for a stronger coffee flavor. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful and we don't wait too long to take our food with us. You can sit and eat in also but we were on our way through. We loved how coffee house is tucked into a little antique shop Cajun village. It has Cajun country music playing and there are stuffed gators around and lot of interesting antiques. I wish it were closer to more things to do, but if you're on the road from Nola to Baton Rouge it is a definite must! I really hope to go back with more time and try more interesting things.

This place does so much RIGHT! Upon walking in for my first…read moretime, my friend and I were greeted with a warm welcome from the girl at the counter. She was very friendly and helped me choose my order (so many good things to choose from!) I was struck by her genuineness. It is so refreshing to meet pleasant people who genuinely care for their job and for other people. Another lady, who brought our food to the table when it was ready, was also very upbeat and kind. Now to the food!! I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles. We also got fresh-squeezed orange juice and some iced lattes. *The Crab Cake Benny, composed of a pan-fried crab cake, a fried green tomato, eggs, and hollandaise sauce on their large scratch-made biscuit, surpassed my expectations. The crab cake was very flavorful and fresh tasting--it seemed to be made with real crab! I was super surprised with the dish only being $14. The crab cake was definitely the best part, but all of its parts worked together well. My only critique is that the biscuit, which should have been executed perfectly --I mean, it's in the name--seemed a bit chewy, maybe even stale. I didn't mind much bc the rest of the dish was perfect. As for the chicken and waffles, again, I was surprised. The portions were huge, and the fried chicken was very well seasoned and juicy. The sweet potato waffle, which tasted lightly spiced, was so delicious. The dish came with both maple syrup and honey mustard. But man, that CHICKEN was so yummy and flavorful. (I can't stand ordering bland chicken!!!) They also had a butter and jam bar! How great is that!! Of course I tried every single whipped butter they had: honey, maple, sweet potato, and regular. I also tried their apple butter and apple pie butter. It was all very good. Even the coffee was high quality. My friend and I agreed we'd drive 40 mins just for coffee alone. As for the orange juice--super tasty, but I would have liked a smaller portion + have it served with ice or ice on the side. I was served a large jar (no ice) with a price point of $6.50. Id rather pay less for less. Just too much for one person imo. Maybe it'd be great for sharing between 2 adults or a few littles. I think they are also known for big Bloody Mary's, but I didn't try one this time. Overall, I can't wait to try more!! Thank you for such a lovely breakfast.

It is easily in our top 5 favorite restaurants. It would also be within the top 3 or 5 best restaurants we've eaten at. I think it has gotten better since we started visiting, which is saying a lot. The restaurant is now getting recognized by Michelin and was recently added to their Michelin Guide. I will have to see if I can locate additional photos I have taken over the years. We have been at this point, June 2026, about five times. Every time we go the food and service is 10/10. We always start with the Baguette, Bisque and Sensation Salad. If I had to choose one dish to order it would be the Bisque. I could make a meal out of it with the Baguette. It is one of the 10 best bites of food I have ever had. It's the best thing on the menu in my opinion and luckily it's a main stay. As far main dishes go we have had varieties of their steak, pane'd veal, pork chop, pasta and fish. All were amazing. When it comes to desserts we typically get the flourless Chocolate Torte (when available) and the cheesecake.
