this is so ridiculous, been here for 2 hours waiting for our food absolutely horrible, it should not take this long at a fast food place.

We regularly come with a group of 6-7 people, and we've always enjoyed supporting the restaurant. Unfortunately, this weekend's brunch experience was very disappointing and fell well short of what we've come to expect from Maizal. There were only a few other tables occupied in the restaurant, so we were surprised by the level of service. Our server was pleasant, but we had to ask for basic things such as silverware after our appetizers had already arrived. Our food also came out several minutes apart rather than together, and by the time some of the dishes arrived, they were not hot. The drinks were another major disappointment. The Michiladas we ordered were served warm and without ice, making them virtually undrinkable. Since this is a drink that is traditionally served cold and over ice, we were surprised that they were served this way. One of the Michilada cups was also covered in red tajin coloring, (not just around the rim, but the cup itself where you hold it) and it took 3 napkins to clean it off. (We had to ask for the napkins) His hand was bright red even after wiping away. It should be noted that the drinks were left nearly full at the table the entire meal. I would have expected the server to ask if there was any issue with the drinks. The food itself was also underwhelming. The chilaquiles were subpar, and the tres leches pancake was particularly disappointing. It was essentially a regular pancake with tres leches sauce poured around it. Traditional tres leches is soaked into the cake itself, which would have made a significant difference in the dish. There was also an additional concern that I feel is important to mention. Before leaving the restaurant, one of the guests in our party began feeling ill and had to rush home to use the bathroom. We obviously cannot say that this was caused by anything we ate at Maizal, and we don't want to make an accusation without knowing that. However, given that this has never happened to anyone in our group after dining at Maizal, combined with the issues we experienced with the food being served at different temperatures, it did leave us wondering whether there could have been an issue with food handling, preparation, or cross-contamination in the kitchen. We understand that not every meal is going to be perfect, but taken together--the service, timing and temperature of the food, drinks, overall execution, and this additional concern--the experience was not what we expected, particularly given how frequently we choose Maizal for our family gatherings and the amount we typically spend there. We learned today that, we won't be returning for brunch. That's disappointing to say because we genuinely enjoy Maizal for dinner and have considered it a reliable choice for our family celebrations. This feedback was shared with the team via the contact us option on their website, but wanted to share it here as well as I haven't heard back from them. For brunch, I'd probably go somewhere else, but it's possible this was a one off.

I truly felt like I wasn't in Buffalo but more so on a vacation in Mexico. It was jam packed on a Friday night so my friend and I sat at the bar. It is full service so we were able to order our food & drinks there. Highly recommend sitting at the bar because the vibes were absolutely immaculate!! I ordered a strawberry mojito which was super refreshing and not too sweet. I also ordered the Baja tacos which came with fried fish as well as a side of rice and beans. Portions were huge so I took some of my food home. I would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back.

It's tiny, tucked away in the back of the store past the engine fluids. The flavors they offer, however, are surprisingly great. Orders can be placed at the drive-thru, at the counter, simply do it online, or call if that's most comfortable. We opted to eat inside. It's a very casual, no-fuss spot with a few high tables and a bunch of chairs. The colorful furniture, artwork on the walls, and overall hospitable atmosphere make grabbing a quick meal on the spot not a bad idea. We only ordered a few tacos. All were loaded with meat, some onion, and cilantro. We asked for mild and medium-hot salsa, which was served in small, perfectly sized containers. I enjoyed my chicken taco a lot. The double tortilla held everything perfectly. The menu has plenty of interesting options. I'd definitely go back without hesitation. One more thing. The people who worked there were polite and friendly. It's always nice to experience a genuine smile when I leave a restaurant. It feels like I'm always invited and appreciated.

I ordered the Queso Fundido and the Quesabirria Tacos to go. My order was ready on time, packaged nicely, and still warm when I got home. The queso was super good! They do not shy away from the portion, and that includes the chorizo in it. The queso had such a good flavor and was nice and gooey versus watery. They gave enough chips for it as well. The tacos were fantastic and hardy. Me and my son were both impressed with the size of them! I dipped mine in the queso for added deliciousness lol. The tacos also came with a nice portion of rice and beans. I can happily say, the food today versus when it first opened is like night and day and I would gladly eat here again!

Mistake number one was sitting at the bar. The bartender spent the majority of her time talking to her friends. It was a significant amount of time before she even took our order. For a second I thought it could be because it was Taco Tuesday but it was nearly empty! I'm hoping and believing that it wasn't intentional but it felt as such. When it was time to order the bartender was legit not able to answer any of the questions that we had. Everything came out separately. Let's start with the appetizer. I had to ask multiple times to get chips and salsa. When I finally got it I ate it quickly becsuse I was starving and asked for more which I never received! My friend ordered corn and it legit never even came until her entree came out. One person got they steak while the other two of us hadn't gotten our food. Well the next person got their meal and here I am still waiting for my food to come out. Which is a tad bit concerning because. When the bill came out there was a plethora of stuff on it that my friend did not have. Now as far as the food I throughly enjoyed vegan tacos. It was incredibly flsvorfu Misc We didn't get any silverware. The most disturbing thing was when the bartender bit off of a fork to try some food her friends offered her. I believe this is cross contamination. I don't plan to return back here because of alarming lack of awareness.
