Went to Jim's steak out on Hertel and bought 2 steak tacos. The food was horrible . Tasted like they dumped a box of salt on the steak. It was unbeatable. When I called to complain, the only response I got was " ok I'll tell the cook about it ".Had to throw food away. Never Never, Never will eat there again and will recommend others not to eat there either Mike D. read more

I come here specifically for the taco in a bag. The food is always good. The only issue is the staff. It's very half and half with them. You either get a team of employees that are very friendly and know what they're doing. You may also get a team who are not too rude but rude nonetheless. The rude staff are the only ones to mess up my order. Besides that great location and it wouldn't stop me from returning. I have nothing to say ambiance wise as I eat in my car. read more

We order often from here, never have an issue. we ordered today, 2 subs order of fries $43. Fine, my husband goes to work, his sub is wrong, didn't make a big deal about it, picked off what he didn't want, second sub I finally for to open when my kids went to bed a few hours later. 100% wrong, the receipt was 100% correct when I picked up our order. called to let them know and was told oh well....if they keep making it wrong there are 6 different locations. this is completely unacceptable. I had to throw the whole thing out it wasn't even edible. how hard it it to make the order thrown correctly right, chicken cheese and jims sauce that is it! no may no oil no veggies and the lack of customer service other then the kid who took the order is offensive. read more

Jim's Steakout The quality has been going downhill the last 6 months. We attempted again and spent near $60 on takeout. Terrible, never again. The Diavlo, terrible quality meat, stringy and grizzle. The meat barely covered the dry roll. AND, they forgot the sauce. I called the location that said "sorry" we have 5 new people...never offered anything further or a free sub for next time. Terrible food and customer service. To my family and friends, I recommend STAY AWAY. #disappointed #pissed read more

My go to Jim's, mostly because it's in area I work. Everything I had here has been very good, just go in knowing this isn't gourmet food. My go to picks are the diavlo hoagie, the cheeseburger hoagie and the chicken finger salad. If you like ham subs this is one of the best I had anywhere actually. It just hits the spot, try it and you will see. Staff is very friendly and I don't think I ever had an order messed up in over 30 times I have been here. read more

While Jim's may be the best late night meal in all of Buffalo, I was super impressed with my sub from here for lunch even while not inebriated. I got the Hoagie Deluxe with steak and WOW was it good. I might leave off the lettuce and tomato next time (it got kind of soggy with all the sauces), but this is definitely one if the better steak subs I have had in recent memory. Great size and tons of steak and cheese flavor. Next time I'm in Buffalo, Jim's will surely be on my list of places to return. read more

I went here and got a Famous steak sandwich and chicken fingers. Chicken fingers weren't too bad a good value, but the steak sandwich was gross. The decor of this restaurant was awful. Not sure why any business would want to turn off so many customers. I will not be back again. read more

Absolutely not the right Jim's to go to. I've been in there a couple of times and they were extremely rude to me and the food wasn't a patch on the other Jim's locations I've been to (Sheridan/Sweet Home, Allen St, Chippewa). I saw some old friends there and they were saying the same thing. Just a mile down the road is the best Jim's location (Sheridan and Sweet Home), with some really nice kids working in there and a higher standard of food - so take your business down the road, people! Review of their food in general: Their Steak Tacos are good (ask for them medium or hot), very Buffalonian - not at all Mexican - but still very good. Their subs are their specialty, not least because they are so greasy and delicious... get one that has everything (Steak, Peppers, Cheese, Onions, Mushrooms) for the full Jim's effect. One of the heaviest sandwiches you will ever eat but also one of the most delicious, and extremely original. The closest to a real Philly Cheesesteak you will ever get outside PA but with a Buffalo slant to it. Their wings are good, but there are better places to get wings. If you're going to get a drink, remember you're in Buffalo, so you have to get Loganberry! read more

The Jefferson is delicious!! I did chicken instead of steak- Great choice I may say!! I also added bananna peppers! I always get extra sauce here because their Jims sauce is sooooooooooo good! The Jefferson is chicken (or steak) and sausage . read more

I usually use a drive up window at another location but decided to venture to a different location since it was closer. This Jim's was very nice inside and even outside. There appeared to be a small outside area for those summer days and many tables inside. It's a very clean sub shop and you are able to watch your order being made which I think is fun. The staff is very friendly and I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. I places my order and was out of there in approximately 10 min. Very fast considering I ordered poutine fries which had to be cooked first. The poutine fries had a good amount of cheese And gravy. Only issue is traffic because it's on busy Sheridan so just be careful pulling out. Great friendly staff made this a very pleasant stop read more

Disgusting and disappointing. Sandwich was underwhelming at best. Would NEVER consider trying this place again. The meat was tough and salty, onions undercooked. No real flavor. Been to this outlet 2x's & been disappointed both times. I get it can get busy but the last time I was there I ordered a steak sub & a chicken finger sub w/ a lg fries. I picked up & got home to 2 steak subs & half a bag of fries. I called back to tell them & they told me to hang on & then hung up. I use to work in food service so I try to understand when this happens but this was a joke. After I tried to write to them on twitter & took a picture of the order and never heard back. Not surprised Update: I have been here since and the food has been great. Then tonight I tried calling and there was no answer for about 45 min... I chose to finally drive and I told them the issue I was told with an attitude the phone was ringing off the hook. Ok I get it but wouldn't you want to answer it??? Food was ok. Just sucked it took an hr to finally. Update#2. It's been 2 months since the issue with the phone happened at the Belmont location. I have noticed every late Saturday night when I order there is an older gentleman that works there that usually takes my order and helps me out. Ever since he's been there my food has been PERFECT and I been actually getting lg fries when I order them. I LOVE there food and will always end up getting it. I just don't like to be disappointed when I do order because I order at least 1/2 times a week. Also the Belmont location is by far the better one as far as quality and service goes and it's been like that for a while. I won't order there unless I can't get through to Belmont. read more

Five stars because they have street tacos and great "poutine" and I stop here every time I'm in buffalo. The street tacos are my fave. Served in a bag of crunched up doritos, they top it with ground beef, lettuce and tomato. I seriously. The poutine is a mix of delicious beefy gravy and colby cheese. I had to order two orders because one of them never makes it back to the house. Can't wait til I go back to Buffalo to get some Jim's! read more

I absolutely LOVE this place!! I miss it sooo much and I wish more than anything that they had one out here in CA. Evertime I go home I eat this at least once, usually twice, and I've been known to bring one back to CA. Even after a 6 hr flight, still delicious. I always get the Jim's Bleu medium. Huge chicken fingers that are hot, spicy, crispy and doused in their delicious hot sauce. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, are all crisp and fresh. The blue cheese adds a delicious tanginess that goes hand in hand w/buffalo chicken fingers and wings. Chicken finger subs are something they don't have in CA, for some reason no one's got the brilliant idea yet, and if they did, I'm sure it could never be this good. Just like chicken wings they just can't seem to get it right. Also amazing is their Jim's Famous Steak Hoagie. The steak is chopped up in small pieces and super tender so it's easy to eat. There's fried onions on top, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and the most amazing secret sauce ever. I would take this over an authentic Philly Cheesesteak any day. This is a Buffalo favorite and if you're ever in the area do not leave w/out trying one of their famous hoagies, you will NOT be disappointed, I promise :-) read more

Stopped in late to get takeout. I ordered a 5 piece boneless chicken wings and my boyfriend got a stinger sub, he loves those. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant seemed clean but we didn't eat in so I didn't get a good look at any of the tables. For being 10:30 at night, they had a lot of people working, about 5. I've been here before during the day and that staff seems more friendly than the night staff tonight, however I don't know how happy I'd be working at night either. However no difference in food taste, and no line. read more

Something I really enjoy about Jim's is that the food is so consistent and always hits the spot!

Although I am already a huge fan of Jim's, and have been for literally years, before my mother and I went out this evening I was reading the reviews for this specific location out of sheer curiosity. Simply because this location is the closest to us, I think my favourite location is the original down on Elmwood Ave. Fox E.'s review stood out in particular seeing as I had a similar unfortunate experience with the staff being rude. More importantly, let me address the food first. My mom and I have been fans of this place for so long! I absolutely love their chicken fingers and chicken finger subs, they're awesome every time. Also, I recently branched out and tried their Taco In a Bag, which is all your taco essentials mixed up and served in a Doritos Nacho Cheese bag (chips very obviously included). My mother is a little bit more adventurous when it comes to the menu, though her standby is the Jim's Famous Steak Hoagie (steak, fried onions, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato & Jim's "secret sauce") - she's tried the Diavlo & their turkey hoagie, which are all according to her pretty damn good. Tonight I ordered my usual - chicken finger sub, hot with blue cheese and an order of their "award winning" (what award do you think they've won?) French fries. We were the only customers in there at 12AM which was strange, yet they had three unattractive, unfriendly and very obviously bored out of their skulls college girls working behind the counter. Automatically got a very clique-y, uncomfortable vibe...which isn't common in the other locations I've been to. Can't say I was a fan. After I received my food, I sat down and took a picture of my order to throw on Yelp! (Like many others.) Two of the employees blatantly found this amusing and very strange as I overheard them talking about how weird taking pictures of your food is. And then the two of them proceeded to stare like dazed holsteins at yours truly as I tried to eat my food. In short, food is five stars for quick artery clogging deliciousness. As for service at this location....go somewhere else unless you'd like an order of ignorance with your meal. read more

Jim's Steakout - 12" Chicken finger sub & French fries - Sandwiches Near Me - Tonawanda, New York

I think the people who work at Jim's Steakout should be nominated for sainthood. I don't know how they deal with all of the drunk people who wander in there at odd hours of the morning. They also take telephone orders ahead of time, which is convenient when you're cabbing home and want to run in and grab your food. One time they forgot to include my mac n cheese bites. It was tragic and I'd rather not talk about it. Other than that, they always seem to get my order right and the food is consistently wonderful. Their chicken fingers and Stinger subs are absolutely delicious. Their french fries are also among my favorites in Buffalo, especially for fast food. My favorite thing to order is the mac n cheese bites. They hit the spot every time. I've also tried their poutine fries a few times. They were excellent. read more

My first experience at Jim's steak out will probably be my last. Kinda pricey for a college kid orientated restaurant. The 9$ "steak hoagies" are basically just stringed together hamburgers. Just drove 15 hours from Atlanta and got to Buffalo at 1am. Of course the first place we went before saying hi to family or friends was to Jim's to get a Chicken Finger Sub. No where else in the country has CFSs and Jim's is one of our must visit stops anytime we're back in town. People of Buffalo, don't take the CFS for granted. Eat them everyday. Order them with extra hot sauce and blue cheese. Think of all of us that have moved away when you do. read more

It's Jim's Steakout...a Buffalo Staple, open late, always good food. Sometimes they are so slammed that your order might be a little off so check before you leave but usually on point. Can't beat the hoagie Philly style, or a standard Turkey sub they make 'em both right and quick! read more

It's been years since I've come to Jims. Seriously, maybe 3 years. So after my coworker told me that she thinks Jim's has the best chicken finger subs, I had to come back and try it again. I ordered a 6 inch Jim's Blue with the Taco Nachos and a Pepsi. Everything was delicious. The Jim's Blue was great. Good fingers and sauce. The bread was pretty good too. I wouldn't call it "the best chicken finger sub" I've ever had (that award goes to Maybacks) but it still was quite good. The Taco Nachos were great! The perfect sloppy side with nachos, taco meat, queso, and sour cream. I liked these the best. The service was great. I came at about 1:00 on a Saturday. Everyone working was very helpful. I remembered a reason I stopped coming was the high prices. This was about $12 total, which I thought was a bit high, but still okay. I would be back for the sloppy taco nachos. But still probably wouldn't say the chicken finger sub was the best. read more
