This is an update to the review I wrote last week, with a change from 4 stars to 1 star…read more Yesterday I received a text and an email from someone in the Service Department, asking me to schedule replacement of cat studs, as recommended with last week's service. I asked what she was talking about, as nothing had been recommended, and if I'd known about it, I would have had it done when the car was there. She told me it was in the report that had been given to me. I went through that report, page by page. There's even a section for recommendations, and this was not mentioned anywhere. I told her that. I also told her that 2 of the things that had been done were done incorrectly and I'd had to bring the car back to have those things done correctly. She said she'd speak to the manager and see how they could make things right. This morning she texted to say that my service advisor said he HAD told me about the cat studs, but that it wasn't an emergency to take care of them. A complete lie. So I take back all the great things I'd previously said about him, and would advise against going to Bernardi Honda for any type of service. They are dishonest, and I HATE being lied to. ------------ I drive a 2017 Acura RDX. A few days ago, I received a text from a Bernardi AI Bot named "Pam," telling me I could get $75 off any service or maintenance at Bernardi Honda. I needed a few things done, so I scheduled an appointment for the same day. David was my Service Advisor, and I can't say enough great things about him. A bit of a shmoozer, but extremely nice and informative. As it turned out, the car needed quite a bit more work than I had anticipated, and had to leave the car overnight. They would have been willing to send me to Enterprise in an Uber to provide me with a rental at no charge, but I asked if they could just send me home in an Uber (10 minutes away). They did that, and also had Uber pick me up the next day when the car was ready. So that was a great convenience. Here's what I needed: Scheduled maintenance, 2 new tires with balance and alignment, new windshield wipers (front and back), and it turned out I had an oil leak, so that needed to be repaired. When all was said and done, I paid them nearly $4,000 - but it's okay. I know the dealership will do the work correctly.... or so I thought. Yesterday was my first time going any distance (I had picked up the car the day before). First, the steering wheel was pulling to the left, so something was wonky with the alignment. Second, 10 minutes into my drive, the "Check Emission System" light came on. When I got home, I tried calling David, but it was his day off. He called me back first thing this morning and told me I could return with the car at any time and they would take care of it. I brought the car in this afternoon, and David greeted me as soon as I arrived. I waited in the waiting area, he updated me along the way, and about an hour and a half later, everything was done. The "Check Emission System" light was on because, in replacing the oil pan, they had to loosen the O2 sensor, and hadn't tightened it enough afterwards. They tightened it today. They ran a diagnostic and found the alignment was indeed slightly off, and they fixed that. It was really annoying to me that I would have had to return to have these 2 things fixed. They should have been checked before the car was returned to me. And since they weren't, I had to return. After this experience, I'm not sure I would return to Bernardi Honda for service. The saving grace was David, who would have bent over backwards to make me happy, but the service technicians need to be more thorough.

When I got it home I noticed several things that I was disappointed in. 1. The rear wiper blade was gone. That is, the rubber part that actually touches the glass was missing. I had to buy a new wiper blade. 2. There were no floor mats. 3. Brake pads need replacing all the way around. 4. Usually when I've purchased cars in the past they throw a little gas in it for you. Nothin'. First stop was a gas station. 5. The hard sell on the extras (service plan, etc, blah blah blah) by the financial guy was off-putting. Especailly after I told him I'm NOT BUYING ANYTHING EXTRA and he just kept on trying almost to the point of me getting up and walking out. Then when he finally gave up, he went and talked to somebody else and came back and tried again to get me to buy something extra. No means NO, guys! Certified, my ass. On a side note, test drove another "certified" vehicle before I decided on the one I bought. The brakes were literally grinding the rotors. Again, certified, my ass!
