from the first time my husband had spoken with the man at the midway moving & storage company regarding getting the quote and making the arrangements, then to when these men came to our home in streamwood, il and then delivered all our furniture (and lots of boxes) to sarasota, florida "each and everyone" of these men (from the office & worker's) made us feel as they were a part of our family. all these workers we had on both sides are such a "great asset" to this company. they represented midway moving and storage company professionally and with great pride. all these men were very friendly and spoke english very well. all the workers that came to sarasota, florida and delivered all of our furniture and all the items not only did they put everything where i asked them to but they took and cleaned up everything as well as our 2 flat-screen tv's were put into boxes before moving them from il and then they unwrapped and took all the boxes and plastic wrap away. they left nothing for me to pick up or unwrap to throw away; i really can't say enought good about midway moving & storage company and all of their employee's (Especially: Camilo, Luis, and Lydell). we could of maybe of had possibly less of a quote and paid less but i really believe that midway moving & storage company is not only reasonably priced but "you really can't beat their services and their "wonderful employee's". way to go midway moving and storage company and we honestly say thank you for such a great deal and Especially: Camilo, Luis, and Lydell. and for all our items that were delivered in the same condition they were in when they first picked everything up. we will highly reccomend everyone that needs to move to hire midway moving and storage company. gary & joan mailhot read more

I don't normally YELP, but I was extremely pleased with the service I received for my move last week. I booked them the day before I had to be out and they were able to accommodate me. On the day of the move, they arrived 20minutes early and told me that I could take my time if I was not yet ready. When they came up, George and his crew quickly took inventory of my 50 items and proceeded to haul everything down the 4 flights of stairs. Not an easy task in the building I live. This included a futon/mattress, queen bed and box, a few dressers and several large boxes. They moved at a lightning pace. I was quoted for 2.5 hours with a minimum of 2, and they were done in 45 minutes! I was amazed. At times I felt bad because of the staircase, but George insisted I relax and let them handle my worries! My items are currently in their storage facility until my new apartment is ready, but I have already requested that when the time comes they send me George and his crew! I have read many unfavorable reviews on here, and only hope that they have turned a new leaf and it begins with a solid crew like this. I would for sure use them again! Using Midway Movers was the best decision I made when moving to the suburbs. I quoted several other movers and Midway came in with the lowest rate, but also presented options for me to chose what would work best for me. I received a quick quote and incredible customer service that checked in with me multiple times. They even were able to accommodate a last minute date change to push the move up 3 days earlier! The movers, Steve, Ricky and Jose were all professional, friendly and hard working. They arrived earlier than the 9am start time and were incredibly efficient with their work. I moved out of a 3 story walk-up with a difficult staircase with a large amount of furniture and boxes and there was no damage whatsoever to my building. They assisted with the unload at a storage unit where they gave their professional opinion on how to best utilize the space within the unit. They then went stopped at the house in the suburbs and placed boxes in the appropriate rooms throughout the house, easing the move on my end. In the end, because of their efficiency, the total cost was lower than the quote I received - wow! I cannot recommend Midway Movers enough, they were absolutely top-notch! Thank you!!! read more

Moving is tiresome and a complete pain. That's why for the first time in my life I hired other people to do it for me and talk about beginner's luck! I can't imagine having an easier time moving than with these guys doing it for me. Everything was great. They showed up early and were quick and respectful. The most notable part of the entire move was one of the guys was taking loads of boxes out like he had some super power. I lived in a 3-story walk-up and he would take a canvas strap, wrap it around 6 boxes, then walk them out unassisted. I'm not exaggerating when I write he carried out a combined weight and area greater than his own body, and did this multiple times. While never fun the paying wasn't painful either. I say this because I wasn't hit with any surprise charges. Before they started they ran me through all of the charges I could anticipate. On top of that I was originally quoted a 3 hour job and it took 3 hours and 15 minutes. With that said the price I paid that day and price I was told weeks prior were basically the same. I had a really positive experience with Midway starting with excellent customer service. I quoted several other movers and Midway came in with the lowest rate, but also presented options for me to chose what would work best for me. The moving truck/crew were on time both the day of the move and the next day at the move-in. That is the first time that has ever happened to me during a move. My movers, Steve, Javier and Melvin were the nicest fellas, and they worked really hard. I was asked about my budget and they really tried to stay within that budget, and succeeded. The move out was from a cramped apartment with a sharp turn at the stairwell, and they were able to maneuver it perfectly. No damaged stuff what-so-ever. On top of that, I had some challenges with timing and my new landlords, and they accommodated it all and made it so easy. Midway has been my go-to moving company for the past 15 years, and I've never had anything less than wonderful service with them. This time we were actually moving a piano and a massive, heavy and valuable table (on top of everything else), and there was no other company that I would trust to handle my move. Midway has always taken good care of my items, the estimates they give me have always been very accurate (no bait and switch or funny business when the time comes to load into the new place), and everyone is professional, friendly and courteous. Our movers this time, Jeff, Johnny, Cleveland and Jewels, were no exception, and we enjoyed working with them--from great customer service during early conversations to get a quote and build a plan for the move, to the move itself, which went so smoothly it was almost fun. I had a great experience with Midway Moving and Storage. A friend had recommended them to me and after looking on their website, I signed up to get a free quote. Steven called me right away and was so friendly and helpful. As a young female, I needed help moving my 1 bedroom apartment. 3 men came and helped me move. They made it such an easy and quick process and handled all of my possessions with great care. I will most definitely be using them again in the future if I move. Additionally, the price was the lowest I found when looking into their competitors and their customer service puts them well ahead of other companies by far. They clearly communicated with me about the price, how to prepare to move, and what would happen on the moving day. one of the worst moving companies I've ever worked with. truck was too small for all my stuff. they left a lot of my stuff and said they would go back and get it, this did not happen. they were more concerned with you signing a ten page contract with at least 5 signage lines per page releaseing them from any and all things that could go wrong with your move. they had one creepy guy on their team who kept hitting on me and trying to touch me and begging for tip money all day long. they put all the boxes in one room stacked almost to the ceiling. my son and i had a hard time getting them down with out hurting ourselves. i told them which room to put stuff in but they did what they wanted. last but not least they stole stuff from me that i know went on the truck. the creepy guy also kept going through my garbage asking if he could have the stuff i threw out. read more

Midway Movers came through on a job involving two office buildings in downtown Chicago. Anyone in administration will tell you that these buildings have a lot of requirements for vendors to meet, especially insurance coverage. While I had seen the Midway trucks before, it was usually after hours. The sales rep was patient to the point of waiting to book the appointment only one day before my furniture would be ready for pickup. The Crew communicated their arrival that morning and were very professional in dealing with others along the way. The entire move was completed in the quoted time frame and all items arrived without damage. I hired two guys to swap a couple refrigerators and didn't think it would require as much effort and time that it did. The two guys they sent were very knowledgeable and efficient. The most experienced mover made split second decisions in effort to get the job done quickly without damaging anything. I would definitely use this company again and I strongly recommend this company for big or small jobs. The older mover relates he had 30 years experience and it showed not to mention he had to be about 150LBS but moved a 36inch fridge like he was a 260 LB 25 year old. George and his crew were so very helpful in moving us from a vacation rental to a storage unit. They took great care in ensuring that our possessions were well cared for. They were very careful as not to do any damage to the furniture, nor to the rental or storage units. They also were very kind and considerate toward my family, extremely polite, and the crew was quiet as not to upset the neighbors. Moving can be stressful, but George and his crew at Midway made the process so much easier than I ever anticipated. My team was great my mover cancelled one week ago midway was able to accommodate me and schedule my move . I heard all these horror stories and had no other choice all the other companies were booked up Charlie said he would get me a VIP crew and I trusted him . The day of my move it was raining and the dispatcher gave me a deal on an extra man for the move he said he would send me his top crew and I was in good hands . He sent me George and his crew and I couldn't have been more pleased. The move was a little more expensive then I was expecting but there was no damage and the extra cost was because I really wasn't fully packed all in all I think the were well worth it. I had an excellent experience with Midway Moving from the moment I called them until the move was done. The cost was lower than a couple of other movers I was looking at, and there were no hidden fees. I was called a couple of days before the move to see if I needed anything or had any questions. The movers called in the morning to give me an estimated time of arrival and were here within the original two hour window, The movers were fast, efficient and courteous. I have used Midway Moving multiple times and each time has been a good experience. Setting up the move with Martha was simple, reliable, with no issues. Someone called to confirm details a few days before the move, which was good. On the day of the move, the guys did a great, quick job. When the guys arrive to load up the truck with your stuff, let them know up front if you want them to shrink wrap your furniture or not.
